The kashf (intuition, insight, finding out about things that are unseen) that may happen to a person is of several kinds. One type is psychological, which both Muslims and kaafirs have in common. Another kind is spiritual, which comes via revelation. A third type is satanic, which comes via the jinn. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said: We do not deny that people may experience some kind of kashf, whether when awake or in their dreams when the soul is less connected to the body, either by means of spiritual practices or otherwise. This is the psychological kashf which is the first type of kashf. But it is also proven through rational evidence as well as shar’i evidence that the jinn exist and that they tell people things about the unseen, as happens in the case of soothsayers, those who are possessed and the like. The second type is that which is done by outside forces, such as the jinn who tell the soothsayers many things. This is something that is well known, especially to those who have experienced it, and we have come to know about these things on many occasions. This is a type of kashf that has nothing to do with the first type, and this is the second type of kashf. With regard to the third type, it is what is conveyed by the angels and this is the noblest type, as is indicated by the texts and by rational evidence. Information about the unseen may come from psychological sources, or from evil sources, whether they are satanic or not, or it may come from angelic sources. Al-Safadiyyah, p. 187-189 So some brothers might be wrong for simply suggesting emeka's experience it is about devil. That's why i asked them to be patient and let him keep his stories up. |
emekaRaj:Lol. Do you consider some of your experiences to be kashf. ? |
plainbibletruth:And your take on this?
|
HenryDion:Bcus of fellows like you is the reason i dont support Op's approach bcus y'all want to take advantage instead of using your God-given intellect to engage in discussion |
tintingz:Lol... Nigerians even light millions of candles with your power problems "Up NEPA" NEPA caught off light in the midst of dhikr and salat. So whats the big deal?. How is it voodoo?. Also, one of the purposes of darkening light (even if there is power) is for humility. It is said that if your eyes wont travel around during dhikr. Some even deliberately cut off light or reduce it or turn on candles. I really dont do all these. But it is written that Malaikat are attracted to perfumes, scents, musk etc (of course it has to be alcochol free.). I used to wear musk some years back if i intended to do tahajud and dua overnight and then wear white jilbab and clean area as emeka rightly said. So ther is nothing shirk or voodoo here. |
tintingz:yeye lol.... orthodox medicines worked 2 yrs after application?. Which kind medicine is that ![]() Why do you think Allah revealed Surat Falaq and Nas?. You may have to check their translations |
^^^ HenryDion:, you pained? ![]() |
tintingz:He is not even in nigeria. It happened to him in Germany. So you should imagine he would get best medical care. But guess what?. Oyinbo did what they had to do after placing him on drugs for 2 yrs and no difference, they condemned him to psych ward which is what we dont want. We used our way over theirs and it works. It could have been worse if we allowed them to condemn him there. By now, they would have him being taken care of by care giver when we knew for sure that was not the case. And you said he is practicing voodoo?. How?, maybe i didnt get that. Can you clarify? |
tintingz:Whether you like it or not those crazy things exist but they aren't like they used to be in those days. However, blaming every bad luck or misfortune oneself on them is a sign of weak iman. One should have tawakul over all that. If a muslim stands firm, they are nothing. But you on the other hand simply dont think they exist. That's fine but dont let them display their fitna for you. I showed you lecture by Sheikh Salahudeen Akindele about a man denying Jinn existence and jinn later showed him they do. But you said that's "hallucination" yet you claimed you believe in Jinn. You confused or what?. You probably dont believe Dajjal as reported too, do you? |
tintingz:Dont exaggerate yours now. I don't think he is making fuss over it. From his narration shows he's been battling this issue from childhood. If you read my first comments, I suggested using precaution and perhaps, seek what they called "ruqya". He appeared to have gone through that. This is not a simple psych issue. If it is, you would noticed changes from the way he talks. I know what i am talking about. Just hope that you are not affected by the evil sides of this thing. They will teach you a lesson you never forget. To clarify, a family member of mine was talking to me on yahoo messenger back in 2007. He was okay and suddenly he started typing trash that has no meaning to what we discuss. If you want you can call this illusion. I quickly called this his pc and he answered. He talks nice then, again, he started talking nonsense. I had to tell him to start reciting ayat kursiy. He said he doesn't remember. I started reciting for him loud and he picked from there. So the thing slowed down for the moment but i don't want to go too deep into this now. Our findings shows possession of "evil eyes" and he is not that religious. This affected him for yrs. I thought it was a joke. Today, it is fair. This is NOT hallucination. Once again, what you simply narrated happens to anyone. That's normal one. You should not discourage him from narrating whatever he got. It doesn't mean everyone believes everything. I am just looking for some things from his stories. Thats all |
Rilwayne001:I gave two examples up there about a sheik. But that's not really the issue. The issue is there is hadith that backs that up. It talks about 46 parts of nawbuwa. What you do think of that? |
tintingz:this type is common like rilwayne also described his dream up there. Sometime some dreams are just funny and you can not help but laugh when you wake up. This are different typs of dream that has to do with our nafs. They can just be ordinary without any implication or consequences. But this is not what op is talking about. Also, some dreams are meant to send a message about oneself or someone we know. |
tintingz:Actually i want thear a dream story you have experience without exerggerating it bcus of this thread. I want to find out if pysch thing you talk about has anything to do with this. You only seem to focus on dreams that our nafs brought forth, which is usually transform to illusions as you said. That's ordinary kind of dreams. Abeg, tell us now so we can differentuate your tale from op. |
ikupakuti:You are very smart dear brother. You see, i buy different ones from Arabs. Although i use them BASICALLY not for extended activities like dhikr for instance, but i would love to start doing that now. emeka's recent comment about candles kinda gives me heads up. I dont do that either but it is reported in hadith that nabi (SAW) did use musk and other oil and another one called ud or oud for many things. They are effective and good for clogs to relieve gas. You know what i mean. This was reported in hadith. It also dries away unnecessary moisture while strengthening the intestines and brings relief and comfort to the heart. Scholars said It helps the mind, sharpens the senses, constipates and helps relieve the enuresis, bed wetting that result from coldness of the prostrate. See highlighted part, i should have used that for my client years ago if i knew about this musk functionality called ud or oud. My client had this cold bed wetting problem back then. Naf'i (may Allah be pleased with him) said that ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would at times burn only 'Ud and at times he would use 'Ud and Camphor and say, 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would do this.' To use any fragrance that burns like incense sticks or loban is permissible. If you burn these with the intention of the Sunnah then you will be rewarded for that. I had to bring up this hadith to checkmate criticism in this thread a little bit bcus some people here begin to see his narrations "out of the world". I think they need to be patient. Knowledge is wide. There are lots to learn in islam. friendng needs to be patient. |
tintingz:Interesting...now you ran back to the nabi(SAW) when it suits you?. But you have reject ahadith that support some of emeka's narrations and ideas. That's interesting. |
ikupakuti:I like Arabic ones though. They are just one of my besties. I am attracted to those arab oils |
alBHAGDADI:And why did you change your "goal post" from forehead onto the ground to looking at heaven?. I go along with yout flow |
alBHAGDADI:I knew you would bring this up. Well, some say that hadith is talking about when in salat(obligatory prayer), so when supplicating in salat such as the Qunoot or after durood in last tashahud don't look at sky!. This is reasonable enough. Others are of the opinion that it is about humility. It is preferable to raise your hands and look down like in the picture below. It is more like humbling yourself. This is what i do and many muslims i know. The hadith you quoted doesnt make it forbidden, It only recommends not to look gaze up. That's all. There is nothing really sinful in that. In another word, it may only be considered "dislike". As you can see, i said "some muslims"
|
alBHAGDADI:But their are other Sons and daughters of God according to your Bible. Why is this exception?. And if you say Jesus is only "begotten" son, your Bible also claims God begot other prophet and ordinary people. So this is not issue. The issue here is Jesus or Yashua as you called him fell on his face on the ground and prayed just like muslims did. You still have valid claim. Besides, "Father" in the bible is Gid. But if you disagree, then tell us how Yahshua was "begotten"
|
alBHAGDADI:Some muslims do in voluntary dua (prayer).
|
tintingz:Obviously, you have a problem here |
tintingz:So what do you think of the ahadith that speak about true dreams and true visions? |
tintingz:thought we talked about these? |
sonofspada:how i wish i could find this in the SW. That would have been great ....lol |
tintingz:Well, indeed, it cannot be proven, that's why it highly recommended to keep it to oneself. However, I think you are the one making it up to think emeka's narration is meant to scare folks here. We are not kids. People simply enjoying his tales. I dont think he is scaring anyone. Your reaction here is those of Arab pagans when Nabi(SAW) came to them with his encounter with Jibril(AS), they said he was halluccinating. Dreams can be very dangerous. Some people are blessed with true dreams and true visions to see pending destructions. For instance, Sheikh Imran Hussein said he had a dream about his neighbor that he died. But is it wise thing to tell neignohr in question?, absolutely not. So he felt sad about it bcus he is aware of his dreams coming true by 70%. So two weeks later there was janaza prayer for the man he dreamed about. Then he could talk to close friends of his and the man about his dream. Same thing he had dreams twice 2yrs before September 11 '01 that there planes flying into building in a big city. He told one until after the incident. But knowing his dreams usually come through, he left USA couple of days before then becus he was certain something terrible was going to happen. Now, there is hadith which speaks about akhir zaman. It says that dreams of true muslims will seldom fail. You better believe that. But it is not wise for one's security to tell in advance if something terrible is to happen to close one unless it is very necessary. And dont forget there are types of dreams. You are only talking about one of them. There are more which emeka is talking about and the one i just mentioned. Not all dreams are illusions. |
tintingz:Not me. Read preface of RSV. Lobatan I dont care about christianity so. It isnt my problem. And "faults" you talking about in islamic community, yes, we do. But here we talking about Quran |
tintingz:Stories for Jesuit. Bring me another Quran. Simple isn't? |
