Sheikh Adam Abdullah El-Ilory first initiated and started the celebration and commemoration of Hijra in Nigeria in the year 1979. It was first celebrated here in Nigeria in Markaz in 1979 in order to create awareness for the Islamic year and calendar and to remind people of the migration of the Prophet and his companions. May Allaah reward him and have mercy on him. Allaahu irhamhu fi zumratis su'adaa' fi jannatil khuldi.


-Establishment of Marcaz Ta'leemul Arabi, Agege, Lagos, Nigeria in 1952

-His Roles in Yoruba Land: He was the first to present Friday khutbah in both Arabic and Yoruba.

-His Roles in Nigeria: He personally produced at least 5000 qualified scholars whom he directly taught.

-His Roles in Republic of Benin: He taught hundreds of students of Republic of Benin origin.

-His Roles in West Africa: His immediate students were from different part of West Africa.

-His Roles in the Muslim World: Sheikh Adam was honored by Al-Azhar in Egypt in 1410H (1989).

-His Role in the West:Students of Sheikh Adam are in prominent positions in the West, especially in the UK, the United States, Canada, and France.

I heard from Sheikh Abdul Fatai Sarumi that Sheikh Adam complained of stomach pain till he died. In other word, he died of stomach pain. To this effect, according to hadith of Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم), whoever dies of stomach disease is shaheed (martyr).


Dying of a stomach disease. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “… and whoever dies of a stomach disease is a martyr.” Narrated by Muslim, 1914.


Al-Bukhaari (2829) and Muslim (1914) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “The martyrs are five: the one who dies of the plague, [size=20pt]the one who dies of a stomach disease,[/size] the one who drowns, the one who is crushed beneath a falling wall, and the martyr who is killed for the sake of Allah.”

In the name of Allah, the ...beneficent, the merciful...

For 40 years, or was it longer, I can't remember, I did all I could to give people houses, hospitals, schools, and when they were hungry, I gave them food. I even made Benghazi into farmland from the desert, I stood up to attacks from that cowboy Ronald Reagan, when he killed my adopted orphaned daughter, he was trying to kill me, instead he killed that poor innocent child. Then I helped my brothers and sisters from Africa with money for the African Union.

I did all I could to help people Understand the concept of real democracy, where people's committees ran our country. But that was never enough, as some told me, even people who had 10 room homes, new suits and furniture, were never satisfied, as selfish as they were they wanted more. They told Americans and other visitors, that they needed "democracy" and "freedom" never realizing it was a cut throat system, where the biggest dog eats the rest, but they were enchanted with those words, never realizing that in America, there was no free medicine, no free hospitals, no free housing, no free education and no free food, except when people had to beg or go to long lines to get soup.

No, no matter what I did, it was never enough for some, but for others, they knew I was the son of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the only true Arab and Muslim leader we've had since Salah-al-Deen, when he claimed the Suez Canal for his people, as I claimed Libya, for my people, it was his footsteps I tried to follow, to keep my people free from colonial domination - from thieves who would steal from us.

Now, I am under attack by the biggest force in military history, my little African son, Obama wants to kill me, to take away the freedom of our country, to take away our free housing, our free medicine, our free education, our free food, and replace it with American style thievery, called "capitalism" ,but all of us in the Third World know what that means, it means corporations run the countries, run the world, and the people suffer.

So, there is no alternative for me, I must make my stand, and if Allah wishes, I shall die by following His path, the path that has made our country rich with farmland, with food and health, and even allowed us to help our African and Arab brothers and sisters.

I do not wish to die, but if it comes to that, to save this land, my people, all the thousands who are all my children, then so be it.

Let this testament be my voice to the world, that I stood up to crusader attacks of NATO, stood up to cruelty, stoop up to betrayal, stood up to the West and its colonialist ambitions, and that I stood with my African brothers, my true Arab and Muslim brothers, as a beacon of light.

When others were building castles, I lived in a modest house, and in a tent. I never forgot my youth in Sirte, I did not spend our national treasury foolishly, and like Salah-al-Deen, our great Muslim leader, who rescued Jerusalem for Islam, I took little for myself...

In the West, some have called me "mad", "crazy", but they know the truth yet continue to lie, they know that our land is independent and free, not in the colonial grip, that my vision, my path, is, and has been clear and for my people and that I will fight to my last breath to keep us free, may Allah almighty help us to remain faithful and free.

GADDAFI once told the Nigerian and British governments to divide Nigeria into two, so that the Hausa/Fulani (Moslems), Yoruba (Christians) and Biafrans/Igbo, can live as neighbouring countries.

It's good we look at these 16 REAL REASONS WHY COL. GADDAFI WAS KILLED:

1. There is no electricity bill in Libya, electricity is free for all its citizens.

2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens are at a 0% interest by law.

3. Home is considered a human right in Libya. Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a
home.

4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinars (US$50,000) from the government to buy their first apartment.

5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi, only 25% of Libyans were literates. Today, the figure stands at 83%.

6. Libyans taking up farming as a career, they received farm land, a farming house, equipment, seeds and livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free.

7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they needed in Libya, the government funded them to go abroad for it.

8. In Gaddafi's Libya, if a Libyan buys a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally.

11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation, the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gave birth to a child under Gaddafi, received US $5,000 as child benefit upfront.

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15. 25% of Libyans have a university degree

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man- Made River Project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

If this is called "Dictatorship", I wonder what type of Leadership Democrats have!!

Sheikh Adam al-Ilori(ra), was a great advocate of unadulterated Islamic education. He believed that Islamic education, if thoroughly pursued, can offer as much as what the western system of education could offer. He, therefore, believed that a pure Islamic education is crucial to the Islamic identity in Nigeria. For this reason, he did not allow any western subject in the curriculum of his Arabic Training Centre popularly called Markaz at-Ta’lim al-‘Arabi which he established in April 1952 at Abeokuta, Ogun State but later shifted to Agege in Lagos State. According to him, the objectives of the Centre, are among others, to teach the Arabic language with a view to serving Islam;
furnishing the government and private schools with Arabic teachers; producing mosques and Islamic organizations with Imams and preachers; proselytizing Islamic teaching among Muslims, Christians and idol worshippers and publishing Islamic books and tracts for awareness purposes.

In Quran 33:53, Mohammed gave an instruction that no one should marry his wives after his death. Can Muslims do justice to this instruction by Mohammed?

Very simple. Prophet (Allah's Blessings and Peace be upon him)'s wives are not like ordinary women. They are mother to the believers (muslims). You are just trying to argue that it was unjust to the wives to be forbidden to remarry. But such an argument shows total ignorance of the details of the issue and status of the wives of the Prophet (Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him) in the House of Islam.

I was wondering why you did not quote preceding verse in the same chapter (sura 33:6)?. In very clear terms Quran calls the Wives of the Holy Prophet (Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him) as the Mothers of the Believers. Allah says in the Holy Quran:



[size=14pt]"The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers." (Quran 33:6)[/size]



This shows the strong spiritual connection between the Holy Prophet's wives and the Believers and obviously the command under discussion goes very much in consonance with their status mentioned here. None with even the slightest sense of morality will ever take an exception to it. Question now is, will you marry your mother tru2god?. If you can marry your mother you are very disgusting.


And his [Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him] wives will remain his even in the Hereafter:


There is a prayer in Hadith, a prayer of the Holy Prophet (Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him) regarding his wives. It is stated:


قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : سألت ربي عز وجل أن لا أزوج أحدا من أمتي ، ولا أتزوج إلا كان معي في الجنة فأعطاني



Allah's Messenger (Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him) said: [size=14pt]'I asked Allah that I marry none of my people but she be with me in the Heaven and I was granted.'[/size] (Mustadrik Al-Hakim, Hadith 4650. Hakim termed it as Sahih)



And as they were to be the wives of the Prophet (Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him) both here and hereafter so the wives of the Holy Prophet (Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him) were not allowed to marry any other person. Following narration makes it absolutely clear:

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : المرأة لآخر أزواجها


Allah’s Messenger (Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him) said: ‘[In the Paradise,] [size=14pt]a woman will be with her last husband.[/size]’ (Tabaqaat Abu Shaikh p.270. Albani classified it as Sahih in Silsala Sahiha H. 1281)



Finally, wives of the prophet [Allah's peace and Blessings be upon him] never showed any will to remarry after him.

Salam, I think we need to have a counter thread on evils the Wahabis|salafis are doing to Islam, we need to do anything to save the image of our religion. Especially with their gradual spread in Nigeria., let the world know the group giving islam bad name, let the term Islamic terrorist be replaced by salafi or wahabi terrorist

Personally I believe even if Boko Haram is defeated as long as the wahabi ideology inspired by ibn tayyimiyah is allowed to thrive another terrorist group will spring up and may be even deadlier .

As long as Wahabi or Salafis are allowed to keep spreading, terrorism has come to stay and please know the kind of islamiya we take our children to, because there are a lot of wahabi school disguised as ahlus sunna islamiya. Mostly foreign funded.

Walaikum Salaam, I understand what you meant but I wont suggest that out of respect for Islam. You may end up doing exact same thing they do to other sects. They should have took my advice to take it easy on others when they kept ranting and degrading other sects. I kept telling them but they think Salafi is the "only" way to Jannah. We also need to distinguish common angry Muslims (as a result of condition of Palestinians) from mainstream terror. As it stands right now, I am sorry to say that Wahabi/salafi methodology will continue to thrive in nigeria and the world of Islam will get worst. Thats a proof of their lopsided manhaj.

Besides, there are ahadith located in Sunna Abi Daud which they may consider daef. These ahadith speak of pending destruction of Saudi and it environs. It means there must be something fundamentally wrong with them for nabi (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) to say that. If joint Arabs/NATO forces bombing Libya in 2011 did not open their eyes I dont know what will. If Saudi bombing of Yemen at behest of US did not open their eyes I dont know what will.

The thing is this, I am not the type that go around screaming "Wahabi/salafi" and i hate to contribute in this type of thread bcus of non-muslims especially. However, what i noticed about this bashing of wahabi/salafi in this thread is that, pro wahabi brothers here brought this bashing upon themselves. I dont think any of you should take it personal at all.

I have no schism against the man named Ibn Abdual Wahab (may Allah forgive his shortcomings). I believe he was muslim but he did not understand some stuff in islam that he condemned. Also, claim that he revived or emphasized "tawheed" is baseless. They want to use this to castigate other Muslims. Weren't Muslims before him?. He condemned whatever he did not understand as shirk or bid'a which we see today.

As for brothers who vehemently defend him, you brought this bashing on yourselves for the fact that you portrayed pro-wahabi scholars as "only" authentic Muslims as if there are no Muslims outside of Arabia. This is very wrong. If other Muslims outside of Arabia were mushrik, how come you people are Muslims today in Nigeria?. Were your forefathers mushrikun for bringing you up as Muslims?. You had no idea who Ibn Abdual wahab was when you were young. You only got to know him recently. The same thing Jabata did when he called his father mushrik. Yet, he benefited from his Sufi father.

Anyways, problems that I have with these brothers is they do not blink twice before bashing non wahabi scholars and call them all sort of names "Alhu bida and mushrikun". Example is a thread opened recently about Sheikh Ibrahim Niyas(ra). Approach of cons are not sunnatic at all. They judged the man base on picture. They talked nonsense and attributed it to him without evidence other than to say "go and read xyz book. And you are the same people who campaigned against insulting past Ulama.

Bottomline is, you brought this bashing on yourselves and on Ibn AbdualWahab. And my understanding is, he retracted somef his misunderstanding before he died. For instance, he retracted his belief on Tazkiyah. This is something attributed to Sufis. Why would he condemn what Allah enjoined?. Tazkiyah has to do with Dhikr but this man called Ibn AbduWahab go against it. I cant consider someone like that a mujadid. His wrong concept is what is affecting his pros today. They condemn dhikr as well, at least in congregation. I see that online and offline. But when Eld comes or Juma'h, all of a sudden they start talking about doing dhikr which means they are "part time" or "protestant" muslims.

And yes, he and his successors have ties with the British like Ibn Saud who took bribe from the British but he called it "jizya". Even his people back then questioned him about this. The 5k pounds he took monthly from White man was for him to disobeyed a specific order of Allah in the Qur'an.
