Weather is not stable here. Keeps getting me sick. Cold today. Hot tomorrow. Besides, I don't think you should expect me to write the whole thing all at once in a day. There's gotta be suspense at some point. But sorry for inconveniences.

Anyways, the man narrated his story to me in early 2012 how the whole thing started. Although he already told me some back in the 90s. He used to live in Lagos Island. In his rented apartment was where the ordeal started. He said when he prayed a lot, the mat he was sitting on started to elevate. The mat picked him up in the air and he screamed and ran outside to the terrace. He heard voices, screaming and laughing etc. According to him, those are Jinn. One day, he took a break from prayer and was sitting outside his apartment. Upon reentry, he saw a beautiful woman called 'omo pupa' smiling and also trying to seduce him. He recited verses and the 'woman' disappeared'. She's Jinn.

He said bunch of them would come around him to hang out. But not necessarily harmful. He said they steal his money a lot. They packed up everything and gone. He wouldn't let this discourage him. He continued praying. This was in the late 60s to early 70s. At that time, he had no stable or permanent spiritual messanger. Later in the 70s with continued prayers, there appears to him a Yoruba jinn. Of-course he cant see her but can hear her voice. She greeted him with ijinle Yoruba like 'e ku owo lomi'. She simply communicated in Yoruba and informed him that she is his assignment (messanger, aid) etc. That whatever he needs she would be willing to provide it. Then she gave him a means of reaching her. The means is a White Dish. According to this man, he said he did take advantage of many things she had to offer. She was patient and intelligent. When he asked for her name, she said call me Iyalode. But he dumped her few years later because she thread part of ibile (paganism). She would ask him to incarnate. It's forbidden for Muslims to incarnate. This is where one needs to be careful by understanding tawheed. Remember I said earlier that Jinn lie, most but not all.

I remember sometimes in the 90s he told us that shortly before he dumped Iyalode, he asked that he would like to see how she looks?. She replied that he cant see her. But the only thing she can do is describes herself. In order to do that, he would need to find a virgin girl. She warned him that make sure the girl is virgin before she look into the "White Dish". The man ask what if she lie about her virginity and look into the dish, what would happen?. She replied, "you really dont want to know. She risks her life". So he made sure the young girl is virgin. This part was funny. When the girl looked into the Dish, she felt unconscious. She woke up hours later. The man told me that he was scared the girl died and quickly communicated with Iyalode about it. She said nothing wrong with her. I scared her or she scared of my look. Then she and the man laughed. The man said when she laughed, is like echo. She said after the girl regained consciousness, ask her what she saw. When she was asked what she saw after waking up, she said "she has big head, she described her head by stretching her hands (like trying to hug someone). she wore a very big gele (heard scarf) on her head. She stared at me". Everybody laughed. The girl is now between 38 and 42 years old. She was compensated monetarily.

I don't think have ever argued or dialogues that Mut`a is credible than conventional marriage so I dont understand why you insinuate that I realized....

Besides. brother from which perspective are you saying mut`a was forbidden at some point? Do you even follow this discussion at all or you personal pass judgment based on little hatred for the practice?
I think you misunderstood my point. Please read again. Thanks

Even AlBaqir recognize that 'Mu'tah marriage' is not anywhere close to conventional marriage in terms of credit. Those brothers on YouTube condemn Mu'tah outright for stun purposes. It doesnt help matter of unity among Muslims at all. Not knowing that some section of Sunni in the middle east even practice something close or worse than Mu'tah, misyar.

I'd thought AlBaqir would link Mu'tah with it but since Mu'tah is made forbidden at some point

Handsome contributions by sino and lanrexlan. Reason i mentioned you two is being from Sunni background, you do not throw insult on this issue. What I dont understand is why would some Sunni brothers (all over internet, YouTube especially) quickly condemn Mu'tah without explanation or incomprehensible explanations. They do this when the matter is about Shia. They condemn it outright. There is nothing to learn in that.

But insightful details given by the two of you with references, a lot can be learned from this.

Anyways, thanks to brothers Sino and lanrexlan. But there is something i thought would be linked. It's halal and it's in the Quran, 'Malika'yamin'. It's arabic word that's a little difficult to replace with English. I'd thought AlBaqir would link Mu'tah with it but since Mu'tah is made forbidden at some point and 'Malika'yamin' is still valid in the Quran (till Ressurection), then Mu'tah differs from 'Malika'yamin'. It's a bit difficult to define. One thing i know for sure is 'Malika'yamin' are not slaves as some translators of Qur'an wrote. Non-Muslims love to portray them as slaves but they are not. I do have a close definition of it but let me hear from you brothers. However, 'Malika'yamin' is now in cold storage (no longer practice by mainstream Muslims this modern times).

'Malika'yamin' doesnt seem to have anything to do with man away from home for long time nor does it have anything to do with men in warfare. I think that's why some translators usually put in bracket "that your right hand possess" i:e halal. Let's hear what you think it is.

Islam › Re: You Can't Reform Islam Without Reforming Muslims by Empiree:
Question01,

How about you address Op's notion of reformation?. Since you believe in Quran only, does Quran agree with Op?.

Muslims don't spend much time fuming
over a progressive mosque that allows gay
members or lets women lead prayers. Such
places occasionally exist and remain
obscure. They don't have to be forcibly shut
down because they never actually take off.
I am a reformist, ever since i commenced this mission of Islamic reform, barely anyone has stood by me.
No one would stood by you because your ideologies are quacked. Besides, what exactly you want to 'reform'?. You haven't clearly define that. There are many who talk about 'reforming' islam but when we listen to them closely, they tend to take away Islam from Muslims by introducing things that obviously against Quran itself like permitting homosexual, pork for example as op rightly said. And since you haven't define what you want to 'reform', maybe you should talk to your fellow non-believing reformists deformists, and then talk to us with one voice what need to be 'reformed'.

Poor co-operation among reformists, moderates and liberals
Of-course, there will be none amongst you because you people are agent of fitna. All over NL, you only attacking Muslims and ignoring those fellas who want Muslims tolerant of homosexual, n.a.k.e.d women etc. Since you claim to believe in Quran only, does Quran allows that?

Christianity Etc › Re: Qu'ranites, Qu'ranists (hadith Rejecters) by Empiree(op): 4:58am On Oct 25, 2014
Empiree:
How do you know how to pray using the Quran alone?

The Quranites will answer back by saying that prayer has been sanctioned before and that the Prophets that came before the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray. They say that this also applies to Abraham and that the method of prayer has been passed down unto the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

This weak argument can be refuted in many different ways.

First, challenge them to show you only one verse from the Qu'ran that says that the method of prayer was passed down from Abraham (peace be upon him) to Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Secondly, challenge them to prove from the Qu'ran alone that the way the Prophets before the time of Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed is the same way as we pray today. Just because prayer was sanctioned for them, that doesn't mean it was the same method of prayer.

Thirdly, expose their inconsistencies and hypocrisy. They criticize Bukhari for collecting narrations 200 years after the Prophet's (peace be upon him) death but have no problem accepting methods of prayer being passed down from Abraham to the last Prophet while there is a time span of more than a thousand years between them! They claim that Allah did not promise to preserve the hadith, so challenge them back and ask them to show you where Allah promised to preserve the method of prayer passed down from Abraham to Muhammad (peace be upon them both).

Fourthly, the Quran condemns the method of prayer that was present in Mecca before Allah revealed the method of prayer to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):

Surah 8:35

Their prayer at the House (of God) is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands: (Its only answer can be), "Taste ye the penalty because ye blasphemed."

So if the method of prayer was passed down, then surely people would have been practicing it. Obviously, Muslim dont clap or whistle in Salat.

Fifthly, God says in the Qur'an...
Surah 2:239

(During war and emergency) if you (are in a state of) fear, then (perform the 'salat') standing up, (walking), or on horseback. Then, as soon as you have peace, remember Allah in the manner He has taught you which you (previously) did not know.

Okay guys. Sorry, I was sick shortly before Ileya. Just recovered few days ago. Although was active on NL but i just couldnt type long stuff. Anyways, where are we?.

Op, pls do bear with me as I tell my experience on the issue of the world of 'unseen'. There is no way i can relate their story without religious sentiment. Modern science is naive of this. As for macof who demands evidence of this outside of Islam, I can only tell you that you owe it to yourself to learn. I also urge you to please ask questions intelligently. This story is not made up. It's real, practically experienced. As we proceed, I will try to elaborate on how the man acquired his spiritual status with unseen, the difference between this and others like those babalawo and other haram (unlawful) forms. This one is halal (permissible). It's halal because the status was only reached through prayers, fasting and righteous conducts. Quran speaks extensively on this.

I will also (if you permit or if you want to hear) discuss few of many prominent people and average folks, including pastors this man has helped with help of Alfa Agba (Ruhaniya) who is now around 137yrs old. His real name is Jamiu. So we call him with respect 'Baba Jamiu'. This part of Islam is forgotten or seen as unlawful. That's just wrong. However, focus of Islam in general sense is not on 'miracles'. Rather, muslims focus on pure worship of God and dhikr (remembrance). It's through this one can reach this status. It's not easy task. It's real devotion. Unlike other religion that put much emphasis on miracles this and that, miracle in Islam is a form of aid to achieve certain goals.

However, one has to work hard to reach the status. The whole righteousness begins while you are young. The man am talking about has always been devout muslim since teen. He does not advertise himself before he puts food on his table. He already worked for it. He is now close to 70.

There was a musician in Nija back in the 90s who had a song like "A ti ba olohun duro lo soro but a ti ri aranse olohun...irorun ni". Let me give you a little hint. Can anyone in our world today recite at least Sura Yasin 11 times in the morning after Fajr prayer and also 11 times after Ishai everyday?. It's hard right?. Surah Yasin is Chapter 36 of Quran with 83 verses. This is just a simple but heavy load the man had to deal with while young. It's called "heart of Quran" Qolib Quran. If you are interested, I will continue. I really dont talk about this stuff. The reason I feel like discussing it is because there is currently a family friend that I called uncle who lived with me for 15 days last month. I know him since 1989. He's a christian. I wish you know him. He's so familiar with the story of this Ruhaniya because Ruhaniya helped him with lots of miracles, wonders in the 90s-present through the man am talking about.

So if you are looking for 'source' like scientific source, i say to you, you will be waiting forever. This experience is real. Modern world do not believe unseen. They believe in what they see, materialism.

But basic tashahud with highlighted praises of the prophet is definitely a must. That's how the prophet taught us. You probably talking about bold. What's wrong with that?. The creator Himself sends praises on His own prophet many places in Qur'an. He ordains His obedient servants to do the same. This has nothing to do with shirk or worshiping the son of Abdullah(saw). Bold is Allah's greeting to His nabi. It's part of Tashahud as thaught by the prophet. Worship alone is for Most High Alone.

@blue is what i was referring to earlier when you said without this 'Salawat' on the prophet in tashahud, salat is null. That, i said is not compulsory. Do you even realized how 'Tashahud' came about?. Calm down Mr. usermane.

As i previously asked, if the Salawat doctrine isn't meant to join Muhammad in worship of God, why is it done in the middle of salat(tashahood) which is suppose to be devoted to God alone? Why does ommiting it nullify one 's salat according to your religion. I haven't even started on attahiyat yet.
Also, sending blessing may be a way of invoking. The meccan polytheists knew this well.

God sent messages to many communities in their tongue. Not everyone of these communities spoke semitic languages. It is funny that you think the word 'God' is man made while 'Allah' is divine. Please do some research, 'Allah' was used in Arabia before the Qur'an. It wasn't introduced by the Qur'an. Then again, stop dwelling on irrelevancies. 'God' has no specific name(17:110)
It's irrelevant arguing with you over this. Just do me a favor; kindly spell back 'Allah' and 'God' and tell me what you get, please.

Question01:
Salat is for absolute reverence of God(29:45) and you do not revere another one in the course of it(72:18).
The Verse(33:56) you cite to corroborate your hadith for this doctrine was distorted and mistranslated by your trusted ulemas in order to have you venerate a human being alongside with God. They tell you that salawaat is just praying for Muhammad and not idol worship. Ask them why it is done in the middle of Salat.
You have no idea what you just said. Salat in Sura 29:45 and 72:18 is about obligatory salat. There is huge difference between that and 33:56. So are you saying muslims sending salawaat on Noble prophet is shirk?. This is clear order from Quran to send blessing on His noble prophet not praying obligatory salat to prophet. Even Allah and His Angels also send salawaat on Muhammad (saw). Who are you to question this. The man in the video seems to explain this. Those people have strange view of Islam in modern time.
So? does being strange equate to false? Listen to yourself and study your hadith:

Abû Hurayrah relates that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
“Islam began strange, and it will become strange again just like it was at the beginning, so blessed are the strangers.”

[Sahîh Muslim (1/130)]
Your responses, let say you just having fun. Example, Sheik Hakeem Quick was in NY some yrs back. Dressed in traditional african/Islamic attire. He was coming out of a conference. Around the corner is a Band. You know those Band guys in summer dress in cowboy hat, no shirt, just underwear(like boxer), guitar and boot. He looked at Sheik Quick and said 'yo man, you look strange'. Mr. Quick quoted the same hadith you cited here. In the video, he himself acknowledged that Band themselves look strange.
My point is 'stranger' mentioned in the hadith is understood by the muslims. Not stranger as you would like to portray. Got my point?. That's, there are those true muslims who are indeed strangers according to the hadith. But there are also those 'muslims' who come up with liberal interpretation of islam with too much flaws and their interpretation is simply devoid of guidance. Same applies to extremists interpretation. They too are 'strangers'. So you not going to fool me by your 'stranger'. By the way, why quoting the hadith when you dont believe in it?
