share your experiance and view about this flood disaster which has been predicted for ever 29years.

Who is to be blamed for the lost of farm products, the high cost of garri, the damages to houses and the lost lifes.?

Government have since 29years ago warned all who lives in the river area to relocate.
The effect of their refusal is the total swept off of the whole Ibaji L.G.A in kogi state.

Who is to be blamed, Idah is over Flooding with the Ibaji survivals who ran for their dear life leaving all their cultural shrine, properties and farm produce.

Is mere warning to relocate justify the uncupbability of the Nigeria Government,?
Were do you want the citizens of riveren area to run to.?
For 29years what have been the militating mearsure the Nigeria Government have taken to ensure the poor masses relocate.?
It takes enough capital to leave one place to settle in another, you purchase land and start building. You need more to set up a bussiness other than your Farming skills.

Nigeria is a failed country, is it because the settlers in small villages refuse to relocate that julieus Begger was contacted to protect or divert the lokoja abuja road? [check the bold words above, GEJ protects only the rich].

I tell you the whole nigeria will suffer the cost of farm produce.
Because the displaced poor ibaji people are mainly the producers of Rice, Yam and Fish to almost all north central.

A tin of Rice sold for #1,200 is now #5,000.
Even foriegn Rice is increasing in price.
Fuel is now #160, because trucks can not make it to idah..
Nairaland GeneralWhat Flood Has Done- Share by Emyo(op):
Flooding around River Niger Displaces Millions from their Homes.

The flooding, which was caused by the overflowing of the River Niger has greatly affected Lokoja which is a transportation hub between Abuja, the nation’s capital and most cities in Nigeria’s south.

Reports say that some of the flood victims were trapped on treetops in Lokoja as the crisis worsened earlier this week.

Premium Times reports that NEMA is currently camping over10,000 displaced flood victims in Kogi and the neighbouring Benue state, which is hit by heavy flooding after Cameroon released water from the Lagdo Dam, East of Nigeria.

It was also reported that the government has asked Julius Berger, RCC to free the Lokoja-Abuja road from flooding.

The flooding has claimed at least 20 lives across Nigeria and displaced more than a million. The extent of the flooding is is virtually cutting off the Northern part of the country from the South.

A lot of small villages in Lokoja and Kogi will soon be wiped out if nothing is done soon.

In a statement by the Legal Defence and Assistance Project (LEDAP) signed by its National coordinator, Mr. Chino Obiagwu, the government has failed to bring adequate emergency relief to the millions of Nigerians affected or displaced.

“Many have died and several thousands injured or under intense threat of imminent epidemic,” the statement said. “Despite this huge disaster, the federal government and most state governments have not sufficiently responded or provided the much need relief to victims especially vulnerable women and children.”

It has also been reported that the flood is spreading to some parts of Edo state.

Emyo: Young Authors of Nigeria, according to its first impressions is an ASSOCIATION of writers. ASSOCIATION is the coming together of people with same interest, purpose, aims and objectives. YAN as an association should be a vehicle which in it as alot of talents in literal genre. Already in nigeria we have alot of association of this kind, but what differentiate YAN from the other is in its promise of giving a helping or providing a means of making its members published Authors in conjunction with imbibing in the Nigeria Youths the writing and reading culture. Not talking too much but with lucidity, i want to state it clear that we are on the edge of invention but this mission is volatile As we keep designing. If we just sit down this dreams will keep c.oming yet no known progress. The best way to start something big is to start with a tiny step. The motive behind this association is to discover, unite, and empower all upcoming and aspiring young writers in literary genre, to facilitate the creation publication and disseminating of quality works of the members. From the motive above the uniqueness of this association is in the discovering, uniting and empowering of all upcoming and aspiring young writers. This uniqueness is further made glad, if only the objectives of facilitating the creation, publication and dissemination of the literary works of this discovered talents are achieved. Not mincing words i think from the above, i have explained vividly what YAN is all about, i stand to be quoted or corrected if i missed something above.

My opinions.

It is high time we stood grand and focus on the aims and objectives, what we should do to make that pace, every other suggestion and ideas comes into place when we are out of oven. Take for instance the cancellation of the zones even before kick starting which would have been a medium of marketing, for this association, a way to reach the nooks and cranny in dissemination

My ideal YAN

I see an association with a clear written constitution and executives registered under cAc of nigeria with all strategies and section put in place to embrace its objectives and motives.

Simple. That is all we should be looking forward to at this moment.

What to achieve.

1. Discovering literary talents across the nations.

2. Facilitating the publication and dissemination of literary works.

3. Encouraging, creation of remuneration and employments.

4. Encouraging and promoting the reading and writing culture amongst youths in nigeria.

Structure of YAN.

1. Secretariat.smiley The head office of YAN will be known as the SECRETARIAT, It will be the head office of all other section and in it the office of YAN EXECUTIVES will be located.

2. YAN; This will be an association bringing together all writers of literary genre and will be the chief brain of the association with it veto prowess.

3. Green land books : GL BOOKS will be a section within the association that sees to the publication of quality works of YAN MEMBERS.

4. YAN TORY HUNT HOUSE :-) this will be the main program that will see to the discovery of literary talents.

Postscript_

The creation of any group is rougher then its administrations. Its easier to maintain the administrative position than to have the status of developing a group idea into reality. Belief me too much ideas spoils the idea.

PS

I plead of you to let us get the edited constitution outlining the various position and its power befor the election. Again with the constitution the candidates to a particular office will not relent in paying up any dues due to him. After the election, we go and register our association proper. With that in place we can than ask our GL BOOKS to advertise the submission of materials.

PS

How to generate funds.

1. Generous contribution and donation from members.

2. Registration fee.

3. Price tags to offices.

4. Price tags to submission of short stories , for publication.

5. Price tags to submission of short poems, for publication.

6. Sponsors

7. Advert

8. Borrowing withing members.

Read this and reply me your reaction as i want to send this to members and the general public in search of sponsors and help.
the above is a must recall and a workbench. Now i ask, what are my limitation as a regional manager! Becos i c myself harnessing my zone members to achieve d best we can in d name of yan. Have my own zonal opt objective?
LiteratureRe: Young Authors of Nigeria (YAN) -Join Now! by Emyo(m): 10:57pm On Sep 24, 2012

Just a private simple website, mobile phone friendly, dat information can be posted by d excecutive, a referadum forum...any thing simple and possible. Dis is like a pre-website to d main one, so i think our main focus is CAC, All fund are going dat way 4 now...i now ask how do we get somtin simple like dat and we not have effect on our CAC. i can c spammers, devil, pirates at work...i just pray we go wit a pace ahead of them. Emyo: Subj: Minutes of NC meetin
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE NORTH CENTRAL ZONE OF YOUNG AUTHORS OF NIGERIA(YAN) HELD AT THE MILLENIUM PARK, ABUJA ON THE 28TH OF JULY, 2012.
*Present:
Phoebe Ikechukwu-Zonal Cordinator
Kelechi Bamidela-Member
Olarewaju Odesomi-Member
Okechukwu Iweala-Guest
Luke Ikyaator-Zonal Secretary
*Introduction:
The meeting started at about 1:30pm. Drinks were served, with the Zonal Cordinator welcoming everybody, and said the reason for the meeting was to discuss issues related to the progress and success of the association(YAN).
*Matters Arising:
Members were of the opinion that the registeration of the association may cost less, depending on where the association would be registered, and that where money would bereally demanded may be in the legal actions to be taken in registering the association.
It was agreed that Peaceworld and the others who are experienced, should handle the aspect of the website and Christiana's account should be used for the time-being, until after the registeration of the association. Members also said powers have to be spread across each zone, contrary to what Sunical said about having one national executive and board of members. We also agreed on having one or two representatives to represent us when the need arises, becausse that makes everyone active, and carried along.
Deliberations were made on member registeration, and Luke countered the issues surrounding payments by new members only and said registeration should not be an optional thing, or based on first come. He concluded that if payments are to be made, no one must be exempted.
We all agreed on the name 'YAN',and also bought the idea of Chioma Orji, that members who turn 41years old should other bodies which would be an extension of the association.
The constitution was not available, so it was agreed that the constitution would be posted to our emails, then suggestions and ideas on the constitution be sent back.
We agreed that members who would represent North Central during the official launching would be appointed, but the registeration of the association should be the paramount thing now.
Members of the North Central disagreed on the idea of grammy/award nights(for now) and also said that 'a novel in 60days show' suggested by Dailynews should instead be 'a novel in 60days workshop/seminar..since it is anassociation of intellectuals, not entertainers.
It was also decided that we should not outrightly look out for sponsorship for now, but partnership where everyone(thecompany and YAN) has an equal say and which is much more respectable. We publish our anthology, and showcase to companies for partnership. Although sponsorship can come later, because right now, we do not have a genuine reason to deamand fo sponsorship.
Kelechi Bamidele who's had media experiences also suggested on pdf magazines, e-anthology/magazines which could be sent for partnership, aspeople are not really interested in hardcover writings, but anything online, and that we could attract the attention of thepublic more, if we start publishing our works

Emyo: What a fatal fate. A twist of destiny. Drawback of vigorous wish. Withdrawer of a tailored dream perfector. What fatal twist!!! Well suited aim achiever, and a die-ing dream all lost because of money-handi-capped initiators. God please never let this happend. We had the best and the first ever planed mission in the whole west africa to hit the real of literal market. A sucidal pedestrain, well auto-mobiled towards revitalising the need of reading as a culture, writing as an habit, self-employment and sure income. My fellow writers, this is my last words here, dailynews i loved your initiating renovations and idea towards changing the real of writing and reading-literature! U the best ever, u've got all it takes, among mobility, leadership and a true commarado but said it aloud such like this can never in nigeria be achieved in too many democratic mutitude. Uniquest, you will forever be a friend, you the best ideal writer i wil ever want to meet, u got that unite-ing spiriting, u indeed a mobilizer, i know this wil hurt u most, but bear with me. My dream was to achieve dailynews initial initaiting innovational applaudable wish, but it was just a wish. Next time, i wish a wealthy nigeria citizen will come up with same idea, but similar to the simple setting of nigeria music industry. Sign in writers and become the CEO, alone or with other share holder, then imbibe the ideas of Dailynews to senitiaze and vibe the writing industry. It lucrative. I rest my case. EMMA NEUL COSMAS. Emyo: Important:- am sorry to anounce this..
1. Not all who have made it to this length will cross the later end.
2. At this point we have came, on my own capacity, i tell we have got alot of work to do... Trust, seriousnes, passion, readines, curiosity, vibrant, and faithfulnes.
3. At this point i want to say it, that no matter our ego for more writers, we will not torrelate anybody, who is not in good state of mind with the above qualities, stress lys on trust and faithfulnes.
3. At this point, we need joints efforts from every member, we need that fear of God, and faithfullnes from the acting zonal leaders.
4. As a realist, i' ve came to terms that some zones can't hold, and i have made up an online zone to accomodate that.
5. Lagos and abuja must surely hold, and i tel you, i myself wil never be part of failure and lakadaizity, despite my passion to take everybody along, i say it again, not all wil make it.
6. Remember this is an association and it needs join efforts as an association.
7. All the late indicators we have been sending forms to...in every five, 1 returns the form filled.
9. I think they should be a price tag for all these late interest indicators.
10. I need opinions on revenue generations as an association and not one man bussines. Mind you that wil imbib serosnex and wil show the level of comitment.

It is beter we meet our doom now, than later when efforts have been wasted unremittedly
