sunical: These delays could be avoided if we stick to simple processes. We don't need everybody's participation to register and begin. The Voting platform is ready. We can slate a date for the voting; first off, elect the 2 or 3 executives we need for registration of the association. Other executives can be voted in later; then we get the price to register as an incorporated trustee, and get everyone to contribute. That's it. Each of these steps should be given a deadline. Even when only 3 people register to vote, the 3 people become the Executives. That's how it goes.
check out those bold words. Ve'nt i b doing them? We must not karry everybody along at this stage...we must ve execultive before we say, yes all the executives must b karried along to reach a discission. I give dates with the initiators assert to the progres of diz association, yet my majors say no b so...after we ve executives we must register wit c.a.c b4 anytin, so it is a process. Peaceworld kudos, i hail u collins and sunical.

Collins u are amazing. U are the type i want here...ask peaceworld he tell u, that u are the bam that really brought meaning into the south east meeting. I love ur constructive critiques, u ar gud at it...i think people are no geting tired but no word cuming out 4rm d initiators of this idea to put a hinge on the toes of the follow writers. If me i put zeal, them say am authocratic...i now left the authncratic me Lol to the mercy of the shadow of mine own self and it is having an effect here...let me say it all now, we dont need big parties to lunch this, we dnt nid any publicity...seun wil help us out...nairaland is a big market, check my posts on ksu...i make alot of money from nairaland, infact my first online cash was from nairaland. The administration of any association is cheaper then creating such administered association. It took the millitary to create a civilian nigeria constitution. We have journalist on this thread, we got Suen and nairaland on this thread so what are we waiting for. Please Dailynews we dont need alot of technocrates to kick start, all we needs is the plan to realise ur ideas. The only thing i object to in sunicals criticts is the online stuff, please i would want us to get our books to the publishing company first, let get to the market, than we can register and lunch this club before 2013...imagin contributive publication...only sugesting o.... Befor dusk, i wish to upload and send out the constitution.

If any controversy starts we can schedule a date on 2go or nairaland to have a general discussion. A top priority also must be to groom our writing by giving reviews. Re: Urgent. from Emyo Young author association.
I have yet to receive the constitution which was supposed to been disseminated over a week ago. I'm also all about talent hunt but before we get there we must show that we are capable doing prudent and original things. Julius Berger is starting a library project and is pleading for books from the public. If we could help gather books for them or aid them is some way we would gain their goodwill and this could be cashed some time later.

However my most pressing concern is not for our outward appearance. I joined this group hoping to better myself as a writer and a human being, if we begin solely by focusing on materialistic acquisitions then we are doomed even before we start. Let us do the first things first. Please send out the constitution to all active members, I assume you have the names of those who attended the meeting, asking them strictly to review it in two days and reply you. If any controversy starts we can schedule a date on 2go or nairaland to have a general discussion. A top priority also must be to groom our writing by giving reviews. Re: Urgent. from Emyo Young author association
This idea is awesome emma. the only correction I want to make to your idea is:
1. YAN won't charge any non-member a dime to publish their story, this
will make us unique and valued world over.

Haven said that, I support every other you suggested. Do remember, we
really fund to go more public because our goals can only be achieved
through effective national publicity. I want YAN to go on national
dailies like The Sun, Vanguard, Guardian and maybe This Day. I want us
to be on AM Express on NTA, and possibly AIT or Silverbird Tv. I want
YAN to also go on air via radio programs in the major cities in
Nigeria. All these, we need fund, the membership fee isn't enough, it
cannot go far. How do we publicize YAN to go far? Through our first
official national launching. we will need to make so much publicity to
make YAN appear big to people even beyond how big it is now. So we
will be needing close to 2million for a start or say 1million for a
low start. We need our website fast, we need the constitution faster
and we need to be registered soon with CAC. So go ahead and finalize
the constitution, send me a copy of the finished constitution before
making it public. Also try and edit this your write-up very well to
correct some errors in spelling before you make it public. So far, we
won't fail I pray. Let me know exactly what you want us to do right
now. If it is the constitution, send me a copy so we can then adopt it
as our constitution before the voting commences. What about the
facebook group meeting you promised to organize, pls do it fast today.

Young Authors of Nigeria, according to its first impressions is an ASSOCIATION of writers. ASSOCIATION is the coming together of people with same interest, purpose, aims and objectives. YAN as an association should be a vehicle which in it as alot of talents in literal genre. Already in nigeria we have alot of association of this kind, but what differentiate YAN from the other is in its promise of giving a helping or providing a means of making its members published Authors in conjunction with imbibing in the Nigeria Youths the writing and reading culture. Not talking too much but with lucidity, i want to state it clear that we are on the edge of invention but this mission is volatile As we keep designing. If we just sit down this dreams will keep coming yet no known progress. The best way to start something big is to start with a tiny step. The motive behind this association is to discover, unite, and empower all upcoming and aspiring young writers in literary genre, to facilitate the creation publication and disseminating of quality works of the members. From the motive above the uniqueness of this association is in the discovering, uniting and empowering of all upcoming and aspiring young writers. This uniqueness is further made glad, if only the objectives of facilitating the creation, publication and dissemination of the literary works of this discovered talents are achieved. Not mincing words i think from the above, i have explained vividly what YAN is all about, i stand to be quoted or corrected if i missed something above.

My opinions.

It is high time we stood grand and focus on the aims and objectives, what we should do to make that pace, every other suggestion and ideas comes into place when we are out of oven. Take for instance the cancellation of the zones even before kick starting which would have been a medium of marketing, for this association, a way to reach the nooks and cranny in dissemination.

My idea YAN

I see an association with a clear written constitution and executives registered under company and allied commission of nigeria with all strategies and section put in place to embrace its objectives and motives.

Simple. That is all we should be looking forward to at this moment.

What to achieve.

1. Discovering literary talents across the nations.

2. Facilitating the publication and dissemination of literary works.

3. Encouraging, creation of remuneration and employments.

4. Encouraging and promoting the reading and writing culture amongst youths in nigeria.

Structure of YAN.

1. Secretariat.smiley The head office of YAN will be known as the SECRETARIAT, It will be the head office of all other section and in it the office of YAN EXECUTIVES will be located.

2. YAN; This will be an association bringing together all writers of literary genre and will be the chief brain of the association with it veto prowess.

3. Green land books : GL BOOKS will be a section within the association that sees to the publication of quality works of YAN MEMBERS.

4. YAN TORY HUNT HOUSE :-) this will be the main program that will see to the discovery of literary talents.

Postscript_

The creation of any group is rougher then its administrations. Its easier to maintain the administrative position than to have the status of developing a group idea into reality. Belief me too much ideas spoils the idea.

PS

I plead of you to let us get the edited constitution outlining the various position and its power befor the election. Again with the constitution the candidates to a particular office will not relent in paying up any dues due to him. After the election, we go and register our association proper. With that in place we can than ask our GL BOOKS to advertise the submission of materials.

PS

How to generate funds.

1. Generous contribution and donation from members.

2. Registration fee.

3. Price tags to offices.

4. Price tags to submission of short stories , for publication.

5. Price tags to submission of short poems, for publication.

6. Sponsors

7. Advert

8. Borrowing withing members.

Read this and reply me your reaction as i want to send this to members and the general public in search of sponsors and help.

sunical: Gotcha! However, they must have emails. That's the only way we can have a perfect system. For instance, if someone forgot his password, he should be able to retrieve easily by having it sent to his email. It's important. Let the house know how you intend to get our emails. You already have mine. Maybe only those who have paid their initial N500 or N1000 can vote...just suggesting, so the list will be easy for you to compile by simply getting it from Christiana.

Uniquexty: i guess we dont have a national president or national executives and so think it is out of place for someone to regard his opinion as final. We are all suggesting because we want the progress of the association and so dont want to believe dat this has turned into a one man biz. Well! Raph has made a gud suggestion and i second him. YAN is funky enough if we define the term young well. If we can regard the young in the area of the association and not the members, then its a headway. I also suggest we draw conclusions in a more democratic way. Those 4 YAN, raise up ur hand..... Ouch! We dont raise hands here. K, voting wil be appropriate. Like, i vote for YAN, or i vote against YAN. I love this association because YAN ROCKS
we don't have national leader yet....we only have national treasurer... Lol, i did not say anytin wrong in my expression to show what the association is, but my mannerism was wrong, my lords accept my apology. My mannerism aside, quote d meaning of what i wrote.
