Two things are needed, an android/iOS app and a remote server.
The android/iOS app will run in the background of the phone while the phone is running.
Once any SMS enters, it intercepts it and sends the text to remote server, without affecting the SMS itself i.e it still gets saved in the phone inbox. I know it's possible on android, not sure about iOS. The remote server handles the rest.
