Sir T.Dan, check your mail. |
Now I see it. Sorry about that sire. SMALLPENIS: |
I already sent him a message. Waiting for his reply. kingphilip: |
Hameenat94 and SMALLPENIS disappointed us by not doing their nominations and some people nominated a writer twice which is one of the things we don't want and therefore a writer shall be handpicked by Kingphilip. The nomination and Voting is null and void and Kingphilip will pick a writer who wasn't nominated at all for this week's interview. |
THINGS TO LOOK AT IN CASE OF NEXT YEAR [b]You guys should please take my criticism in good faith. I noticed some things about this award which ought not to be. - When I first came accross this award stuff. I hoped it will be better than last year's edition but what I envisaged is not what actually happened. 1. Publicity: Kudos to Divepen on this, but I think every judge should have done a thing or two about publicizing the event. I can bet it with you that less than two hundred nairalanders knew about this award. The publicity could have taken a step higher assuming you contacted the mods and they sticky the thread. Everything about this award all boil down to publicity because I was suprised when I saw that two people are tied on the same number of vote. I thought they both had about twenty votes, but was suprised when I saw eight votes each. - Lat year's edition was a lot more organised. One person is responsible for the announcement of each results. All he needs to do is be in close contact with other judges. I was suprised to see delays in the announcements and statistical release. -You compounded everything when you decided to use numbers. Am not sure they used numbers last year. A new nairalander like me have no idea of the story titled '43' which has seven votes. From my own knowledge, I will not accept this award or anything because it doesn't speak for itself. Mynd had no idea about the even, neither does Obinnau. Even some writers had no idea, no publicity, no publicity and no publicity. I don't mean to discourage you guys but its the thruth. 2. Another thing is that, you guys rushed things. We all knew the nomination was not promising, then you went ahead to open the voting thread which was a lot worse. Haven't you checked out the Miss Nairaland contest thread? Within a few hours, its already on Page forty with over ten thousaand views. We can make the literature awards like that too, only if we pay attention to details. Get the mods, get the writers, the writers gets their readers and fans. Sit back and watch it grow. I know next year can be a lot more better, only if we make things work for us. Sorry about this long post and only a senseless person will quote it in full, because it is the begining of madness. NB: I may be wrong with the things I said but remember, it is democracy. I don't mean to riducule the organisers or anything. Remember it is democracy. I don't mean to seek or gain attention. Remember it is democracy. Peace be unto y'all.[/b] Tags: Divepen Texanomaly Kingphilip Aisha800 Fatalveli Onemansquad. |

[b]From my obsevation, it seems like most people here don't understand how nominations are to be done. And the reason for that is not far fetched. That may be because they didn't bother to source more information from the last year's award and nomination threads. LETS FIRST TALK ABOUT NOMINATIONS FOR EASY UNDERSTANDING; I saw someone nominating by just mentioning the names of the writer and the genre without including the title of the story. NB: Most writers here have more than one story in one genre, so please try and be specific. - From the discussion thread, it was clearly stated that you can only nominate one writer in one genre. Meaning, there are nine genres and you'll nominate nine writers, even though a story can be nominated in more than one genre. EXAMPLE: ACTION: The gunshot by Mr Abc ADVENTURE: The adventure of Jim jim by Mr Cbg COMEDY: Two cousins by Mr Ray CRIME: The prisoner by Jayt HORROR: Ghost city by Don T POLITICAL: The election by Mr Inec ROMANCE: Love in Tokyo by Mr Pilot. Also, note that, The Prisoner by Jayt which was nominated in the crime genre can also be nominated in the action genre so far it has both embedded in it. EASY COLLATION OF NOMINATION RESULTS; I have seen some people nominate in two or three genres out of the possible nine we have. Please and please, those counting the votes and others are not robot. When you have you list ready, do your nominations. Nominate in all the genre you have a candidate for to avoid mistakes on the part of the judges.[/b] |
