Christianity becomes a religion when We are told pay tithes and offerings inorder to make heaven, We are told what to wear to church and what not to wear for God to approve us, We think that not reading bibles for long will cause things to go wrong, Our church leaders use church funds to build mega structures and not see to the welfare of members, When we think that going to church everyday to serve God will solve all our problems, When we are told by our pastors that only prayer can save Nigeria, instead of telling us the truth, And finally, amongst many others, when we get judgemental with non believers instead of showing genuine love as God does. Delafruita: lol.sunday adelaja is in court for allegedly causing a company to go bankrupt.it's alleged that he made the promoters of the company(who are his church members) focus more on prayers and fasting rather than developing strategies to successfully run their business.the ukrainian government been as proactive as it is,decided to sue adelaja for a deception they claim caused a loss of jobs and revenue which shouldnt have happened. The govt of ukraine has been cruel to pst Sunday's ministry from the time he started.this is not the first court case and this wont be the last.the govt has been fond of resisting him.do ur research well |
Hey...dont say rubbish...Christ did establish the Kingdom,if u dont knw,go read ur Bible! And besides, havent u heard of Pst Sunday Adelaja in Ukriane who stood up to the govt of his country? |
That is if u and i put in our efforts at working hard at doing so |
A Christian is: A kingdom citizen, not a church goer An agent of change in the society, not a heaven obsessed person One who preaches the gospel by lifestyle and not by word of mouth Who makes things better whenever he is present at a place Who lives and behaves as Christ did, showing love to all,not being judgemental. A servant and giver One who establishes God's kingdom on earth Subdues his nation for God Stands up to the leadership of his country if they are doing the wrong thing. More @ www.kaizen2day..com |
Thank u so much for that input and yet i would like to correct some misconceptions people have about the kingdom of God.when Jesus came,he brought the kingdom with him and gave it the assignment of establishing that kingdom on earth to us(christians).it is not necessary that we preach the word with our mouths but effective witnessing is preaching with our lifestlyles |
Christians in Nigeria are perpetual church goers! They can go to church every day of the week all in the name of praying and getting close to God. Early Monday morning when they should be headed to work you see them singing and clapping at the church.whenever i personally see this, i feel sick inside. You know why? Because Christians are kingdom citizens, not some religious sect members and kingdom citizens dont huddle up in a church. As christians,we are supposed to change and impact society, not passively live in it. God sent his only Son to serve us,we are to serve the society by teaching kingdom principles, not watch while the devil controls the world and Christ did not go through all the trouble of dying on a cross so that you and i can have a splendid praise and worship session, die and go to heaven. No! He died so He could restore the kingdom of God back on earth as it was during the time of Adam. Pastors are meant to equip believers to go into the world and fulfill the great commission by changing society for the better. This is done by helping them find their sphere of influence, that is, where they are most relevant in the society. The church is meant to be a place of building and equipping for impact, not just tithe paying and dancing! More @ www.kaizen2day..com |
Our generation these days is obssesed with a lot of things but one thing rings the loudest in my ears which is the desire to acheive success as quickly as possible. We want to make our first million in weeks, build a house in months and make it to the cover of Time magazine in a few years. The crazy and wasteful lifestyles of political office holders and celebrities mesmerise some and they also want that cloth, that house, that car, that attention. We go to church and hear prophecies and promises of faith and seed sowing, of instant change of lives (financially), deceiving christians to continue to give for their enrichment in the name of prosperity. The church continues with their building projects, not concerned about the welfare and growth of its members. What's the point? Nigerians need to wake up and realise that there is no free food anywhere,no capacity for overnight success. True and lasting success comesfrom long periods of hardwork, diligence and commitment. Those seen at the top did not get there by wishing, giving and praying (alone), or losing their integrity. It takes years to make it to the point of fulfillment. Let no man deceive you with some story of how you can acheive that dream in a very short while. Nothing, in reality, works that way. Please drop your comments and let me know how you feel about this.
