Unfortunately professional therapy is not readily available nor affordable. Unburdening what one is going through to a professional listener is therapy, a professional who is congruent, empathic and conveys unconditional positive regard (UPR) but our culture do not support talking rather we were mostly raised to bottle up issues and the eagerness to share it, is mostly regarded as a sign of weakness and it is worse with men. This does not nurture mental well-being.
I heard there are professionals at Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital in Yaba (some call it Yaba left) and in some other states.
We have to learn to speak out as against our culture...

An increasing number of us are faced with depression these days, accounting for the alarming increase in suicidal ideation and deaths. No thanks to social media which has gradually eroded interpersonal relations, the fulcrum to fighting depression.
The African setting doesn't give room for discussing depression however to fight depression, one needs to >find a trusted friend you can talk to
>avoid staying indoors, go out, enjoy the sunshine
>attend your religious activities more often
>listen to music and dance
>stay positive, it can't get any worse.
When I lost my Job last year, I was seriously depressed.

I had been working without a break since immediately after NYSC,so it was very strange to me.

I didn't sleep well for about a month , when I managed to catch some sleep, my head would be like a highway, I would be hearing voices in my head..It wasn't funny at all.

Some days I would cry for hours non stop, it didn't help matters that I was usually Home alone for hours.

Luckily for me, I got counselled by a friend and I got to realise that it's just a phase.

I started to go out more and changed my outlook on life...

Better days are here..

People always love to judge and tell other people's stories.
You don't know what happened between them?
I've seen people take people to help them and exploit them sexually, psychologically and mentally, every body around will be thinking this person is doing you a favour while you are dying in silence!
If Banky was a good boss, why didn't skales attend ,where is niyola?

As for those real Madrid fans insulting messi for not leaving and calling him a coward, well if he is a coward then Pele is a coward, same with giggs, scholes,Raul, maldini, totti, iniesta,de rossi, tony adams, puyol,Gerrard. Etc besides he has a family,do u guys think is easy to relocate to England just like that, what if the wife had a job,how will the children adapt, imagine messi telling his family he wants to move to england because real Madrid fans want him to prove him self in other leagues, does that make sense, just admit that u don't like him rather than making silly reasons why he is not the greatest player,I don't know why any time they mention messi Madrid fans will go crazy
To add to your point, Growing up, Lionel Messi had a growth deficiency. He was much smaller than his peers. His family couldn't afford the treatment, that's even if they knew he was deficient. All that changed when Barca youth club signed him up, moved his dad and paid for the treatment. He has every right to be sentimental about Barcelona, and might even retire there.
Science/TechnologyApple Sells Gaming Robots Built By Nigerian by enemmo(op): 8:30am On Nov 25, 2017
Apple sells gaming robots built by Nigerian
November 23, 2017 Eaglechat

Apple Stores in the United States and United Kingdom have begun the sale of gaming robots, MekaMons, built by a Nigerian-British, Silas Adekunle.

Adekunle’s company, Reach Robotics struck the deal with Apple recently.

The product with a price tag of $299.95 went on sale from 16 November in the shops and online. The robots can be operated with an iPhone and other smartphones.

Reach Robotics, an augmented reality gaming company creates robots for both fun and STEM education.

Adekunle, who was born in Nigeria moved to the UK when he was 11 years old.

He is an engineer who graduated with First Class Honours from the University of the West of England in Bristol, with a Bachelor of Science in robotics technology. He previously worked at GE Aviation and Infineon.

“We’ve created an entirely new video gaming platform,” said Adekunle in a press release, published by Black Enterprise.

“MekaMon straddles both the real and virtual worlds while taking the gaming experience beyond a player’s screen and turning their sitting room into a limitless robotic battle zone. MekaMon represents a quantum leap forward in the leveraging of augmented reality. Players can whip out their iPhone to battle their multi-functional, connected battlebots in the physical and virtual worlds at the same time.”

MekaMons are four-legged robots that players can control via a smartphone using a companion app for augemented reality gameplay.Multiple players can have their MekaMons battle each another. Each robot weighs a little over two pounds with dimensions of 11.8 by 11.8 by 5.9 inches.

MekaMons can connect to each other via infrared signals and Bluetooth, allowing for co-op gaming.

The robots are powered by a rechargeable battery that provides up to an hour of gameplay. They are compatible with the iPhone, using the smartphone’s camera and infrared tracking capability for precise navigation.

Adekunle’s company, founded in 2013 is basedat theBristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL) Technology Incubator. His colleagues include Chris Beck who had been working as a roboticist in the BRL.

The company, according to southwestbusiness.co.uk has experienced fast growth in the past few months and the firm is moving out of its offices at Future Space in Bristol.

The company, which has takenspace for its 29 members of staff at Bristol Business Park, has secured $9.5m (£7.1m) of investment funding from organisations which, says Adekunle, could “see the potential for what we were developing”.

Adekunlesaid: “When I was a student at UWE Bristol I spent some time going into schools to help inspire young people and it struck me that there was a huge untapped market for a consumer robot with a difference.

“We used to go in and explain simple robotics to try to inspire the young roboticists and engineers of the future and this experience set me off thinking about designing gaming robots.”

Reach Roboticsis anticipating fast future growth and is looking to target the UK and US market in the lead up to Christmas.

Adekunle added: “This is an exciting time for our company as now after years of development work we are finally able to bring Mekamon to customers across the UK and US and with plans to go global.

“UWE Bristol has given us an amazing start and we are so grateful for their support.” Source:Pocket News

You are quick to forget that the ballon d or does not emerge from there last 2 World Cup the 2010 ballon d or was given messi but iniesta won the World Cup,the 2014 was given to messi but Manuel won the World Cup,so forget about the World Cup and think the winner might get the balon d or,unless messi and ronaldo have a very bad season or maybe team like Psg fail to win the champions league, because neymar is there
I remember.

I'm just hoping that someone else will perform well at the world cup or even win and also have a stellar performance with his club.
Neymar, Suarez etc

Fingers crossed.

I miss the old days of soccer when we were genuinely surprised at the announcement of the balloon d or/ world best player winner.

I even remember one year when I almost cried because it didn't go to my darling Louis Figo.

Now its Messi - Ronaldo- Messi- Ronaldo , no suspense.

Can't wait for world cup, Hopefully someone else will emerge from there.

I love yemi's sound no matter what anyone says. Forget about whether lyrics shallow or not. Her vibe is just great. There are so many songs without lyrics but are well arranged and sound great.
We listen to foreign music that we don't understand shit they say and we still jive to it.
All songs can't have great lyrics , some just need to have a good flow for u to jive to.Yemi is a great artist and Sarkodie is also a very excellent rapper.
Me too.

I love her voice.

I love the fact that she sings with a live band

I love her hustling spirit.

I love her marketing strategy(multilingual eg French, Swahili ,Igbo)

I respect people who don't wait for things to happen but make things happen.

She went on a successful tour to France and the U.s this year, next year she will be in London in 2018

I like the fact that she thrives, despite the overwhelming negativity from her own people.

This woman has the potential to be one of the greatest exports from Nigeria.

Those who know, know.
