ogbonti: Glorified slaves indeed, I guess I am one of them, I work hard, but I get paid every other 2 weeks at friday midnight, my money is always there, correct to the last cent... I don't get owed salaries by Aregnesola or Okoroawusa Rochas or Short Hell- Rufai.
So, I can plan well and make the most on my $$$. I also don't need to make a huge financial deposit to get treated with or without health insurance in case I fall sick, there is 24/7 electricity, I don't need to know someone who knows someone before I can get a job, I get my job based on my education, skills and experience and moreso, if I am out of work, (I hav never been and i dont pray so) the government is responsible enough to give me food vouchers or food stamp to feed myself and some unemployment money to keep body and soul together while looking for another job. If these few benefits mean nothing to you, then staying back home is justified ... who Nigeria epp?
You have a good point.
Ikedc(Phcn/Nepa) is dead. Unemployment is high. Good healthcare is expensive and the economy is in shambles.(Just to mention a few)
naptu2: Fabio Lanipekun is a former sports journalist and commentator with the NTA. He presented sports programmes and ran commentary on football matches in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s. He rose to become the head of NTA Sports.
Here he is (along with Charles Ojugbana) commentating on the famous Miracle of Damman. This was a quarter final match at the 1989 Under 20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia. The match took place on February 25th, 1989. The Soviet Union led Nigeria by four goals to nil with just thirty minutes left, but Nigeria equalised and won the match on penalties.
ewizard1: But I don't understand how an artist would leave a record label and people would congratulate them as being free from shackles.
Didn't the record label recorded the songs that made him popular?
Abi I am not getting something correctly?
Singers in the house, can you help out?
In Kiss Daniels case, I heard G Worldwide didn't allow him feature or be featured with another artiste except his label mate(s).
Normally I don't support Mushroom record labels, but there is no standard record label in Nigeria in my opinion, so maybe he should just sign himself and eat all him money alone.
madridguy: Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), Please sir we request you to sue the useless Lagos State government that want to kill Lagosian with epidemic. Ambode has turned Lagos State to waste dumping site.
Its really bad. Refuse dumps everywhere.
I pray there is no epidemic.
Almost all the houses on my street have refuse in front of them.
[quote author=iphanyi10 post=62258469]op, i know of some intelligent people that are proud, egoistic and arrogant.. being humble is not an exclusive trait of an intelligent person, people have varying personalities and behaviour whether intelligent or not.[/quote
Boyooosa: The way you sound here, I don't think you know the history of Nigerian rappers more than I do, he was not even among the immediate pioneers, he came on board in the milenium (around 2004/5 thereabout) this his first album that did not hit that much. Sola Ama (now mummy Weird MC), Eedris, black face and the likes were the core rappers in pop Nigerian history, am of 1998/9. His first album was not even much of a hit, not until opomulero came on board.
Weird Mc is Shola Idowu Ruggedman was a rapper as of 1998/1999 he just wasn't popular.
He shot into the limelight with his hit track ' Ehen' featuring Nomoreless( of blessed memories) which was a diss track. That was in 2002.
I appreciate Ruggedman for liberating me from Eedris Adbulkareem and his style of rap (niggidifigidipipi...)
I also feel that the late Junior of Junior and Pretty fame should be considered one of the pioneers of Nigerian rap.
