Bifwoli: What the hell are you smoking? Kenya's tune is a far cry from this overcopied version of South Africa's own anthem.Maybe you could've said SA and Tanzania then you'd have been right.
naptu2: In the 1980s there were a lot of slogans in Nigeria about a magical year called 1990. The government promised "Shelter for all by 1990", "Food for all by 1990" and General Babangida said that he would hand over to a democratically elected civilian government in 1990. None of these promises came true. In 1988 Charly Boy sang this afro-beat song in response to these promises. He sang about how the government was out to trick Nigerians and how politicians were preparing to line their pockets.
I went to the ATM around 7am,I was able to withdraw.
If they had properly circulated their warning,I would have withdrawn all I needed.
Only for me to get to the market, couldn't pay with p.o.s terminal, went to the nearest branch the place was in a state of chaos.
They were only accepting deposits. I had to go back to the market and sit under the hot sun until someone God sent came to my rescue.
I am fed up with this people, they feel they can get away with things like this, its at times like this I wish I read law in school,so I can know of this is even legal.
mofewilkie: You people are here shouting. If you hear that one celebrity bought a designer dress for $5000. You'll say it's even cheap. The tailor already has a customer base. #85000 = approx. $233 But some of you can buy (designer) suits of 100k. Shoes, bags or watches (designer).
Everyone has their level. If you can't afford it, move on. No need to announce your brokeness to the world. She's selling her market.
I had a wrangler tee shirt that was handed down to me by my elder sister years ago. Even after countless washings, the shirt and neckline remained intact. It was pricey then, but it stood the test of time.
Ankara is not something that you will use for ages. Ankara has grades and hollandis is top grade, that's the one most mothers buy and keep 'bottom box' for special occasions, don't know the price but it's more than 10k for 6 yards. The above doesn't look like such.
If I can, I will buy a watch or shoe for 100k. Definitely not Ankara fabric. the only issue I have is with the Lady posting this convo on twitter. It's a little shady.
dasparrow: No Tiwa does NOT have to do that! To impress who? To impress nosey, unemployed Nigerians that have nothing constructive to do with their lives but rather live on social media monitoring the lives of others? If the white man had not created the internet and the computer, will we not wish our loved ones a happy birthday face to face? Must everything be displayed on social media? This couple have each others' numbers so they can call to talk to each other and give birthday wishes as well. Everything must not be shown on social media. Nigerians must learn to mind their darn business and focus on their pathetic existence on earth.
They started that way with the lovey dovey on social media so their ' fans' are expectant. But people get time o, they even remembered Tbillz birthday.
Yimika would definitely turn out to be a badass music producer if he decides to give more to it.
You wanna see Ebube fumble? Give him a wordy song to perform. I haven't really rated him since that performance at the battle. Him coming as 2nd was above shocking to me.
I think Yimika works with/for (Olaitan Dada) Natialo production studio ,at least I saw that on his instagram account. I wish Ebube had gone for project fame, it would have helped his career better. His fans are the mvp though,No noise on social media, just voting for him.
homesteady: The guy first asked me if I was staying in Lagos, when I said no, he was now like sorry, you won the contest.
That was my mistake, I should have told him I had someone, but I don't know if they would have agreed since I already told him I don't stay in Lagos. The sad thing is that I would be in Lagos next week ohh.
Theseus01: fake news....... I pray GOD should punish all the bloggers that always post fake news...... u all will die a very miserable and terrible death..... in JESUS name AMEN.
homesteady: I just got a call and I was told that I won the'Win with Coke' contest. The reward was a meet and greet session with the Coaches and winner! But I don't stay in Lagos, Chaii So on Thursday, I'd have been with them Waje, Timi, Pato and Yemiiiiiiii! The Coke people should have just agreed to sponsor me na, they have the money. In my next life, I must stay in Lagos.
Ours is too drastic especially on the voice Nigeria.
If we even vote for charm I will understand.
We vote with sentiment eg tribe, church member or school mate.
Last season some very good singers went home earlier Khemmie, Patrick, Promise, Theresa with the Raspy voice, Joe Blue,Dawn Vicky etc.
Same thing this season.
I followed American Idol for a few seasons and it was better.
I follow the voice U.S and I can vouch for Jordan smith, Sawyer Fredericks, Chris Blue and Sundance heard. At least when you see the top four, they deserve it even if the best doesn't get to win, he/she will get close.
Okay see America got talent. At least the good ones go far.
But come to Nigeria, different story.
Project fame tried to address the issue by allowing Judges pick those on probation and allowing voters to do the rest, but guess the profit wasn't enough. In recent seasons they place all of the contestants on probation and ask us all to vote save few episodes. I guess we can see the result. Johnny Drille was one of the casualties of that experiment when he was booted out in tenth place in season 6 leaving Simon, Christian etc. I've given up on talent shows in Nigeria.
If you watch the X Factor, American Idol, the talents show. You'd realize, it's not enough to have a nice voice. You See Simon Cowell always hatching and rehatching the term "personality" which more succinctly can be referred to as charm.
I remember 2004 American Idol where Jasmine Trias was voted ahead of #Latoya London to the finals. Everyone away shocked including me. If you remember her you'd know how sweet she is, and having a huge fan base from Hawaii made that possible.
I wasn't surprised Idyl won, because some pages back, I had given multiple reasons why he was preferred to Precious and Bada. And what the voters psychology is made up of.
