Some Nigerians have this way of looking at old people, they always think they're up to no good, courtesy home videos. That's why you'll see some people that don't travel to their villages, even when they go, they won't eat their grand parents food...etc.

When folks begin to age, they go back to being babies. They say the wrong things, act the wrong way, become petty...etc. It takes patient kids and grand kids to adapt to these changes. That is when the kind of treatment you saw at your friend's place starts to manifest.

It's not in your head, you know what you saw...it happens and I have seen it happen.

My grand parents have been dead a long time though.

my most embarrasing moment is wen i am in ss1 first term ,my first time of wearin trouser,i came wit my phone /symbian phone/ .wen we are in brake period i use my phone in playing football in class room ,wen my male teacher came around he size my phone .the worst things is dat he go report it to my principal said dat am using it to watch bf /porn /in class .dis man tell me to inform my father to come to my school .d worst things is dat i didnt lock my phone before handed him d phone .did know dis mad man /teacher /go true my video and pic he find 1 kind pic dere ,were person de Bleep dog .well wen my dad came to my school ,d principal handed him over my phone to him ,come see d kinds eyes my dad look at me .my dad siz my phone almost 2weeks before he handed over to me .i respect my dad for 1thing ,he won't flog u he will give u advice u wont forgot in life .

I would suggest if u want to become reach in Nigeria, limit ur educational career to OND, if u av d money let it end to either Bsc or HND. Den go for hand work, or start a small biz.
My little story is enough. I am a Bsc grad of uniorin. 7 yrs ago.Immediately I graduated, I started my biz, its not up 3 months we were called up for youth service, I went for d orienntation camp, after which we where posted to PPA, I made arrngemeny wit my AI, so I left there back to lag to monitor my crawling biz and I forgot my allowed or wateva. 2 yrs after d service I went for my MSC at Unilag, I got d money for it from my biz. I finished my MSC and up till now still waiting for a dream job. I got married wit a kid and take care of my family wit my biz. Now was live happily in my own built house. Not too xoensive though.
Up till now I still av my mate DT still teach in private scul collecting 15k. Some working in a company wit stress and time consuming. Wake up 4 am rushing to a man's work while I will still be sleeping by 8.am.
In a nutshell had I know Di's is wat Di's country is I would av limited my education to bsc only.
Advice to the undergraduate, for d graduate is not too late, pls zero ur mind out of Nigerian job.

Tell him to always visit ongoing site and meet Engr , superior or site owner if he's lucky. It's best when the work is on foundation or to roofing level. If he's good in conduit work, it will be better for him than working in a company as technician because he can make more money as self employ than working in a company where they will not pay him value of his work. He can print complementary card with his contact on it, to be given out when he goes to site.

my advice for him is he should go through his town, look for were dere is a building site .meet an engineer tell him he is capable of doing d electrical works, maybe he will employed him.am a plumber also a student is how i got employed .
