Bro, I'd want to know if the kind of banking and insurance done in Canada is similar to what one done in Nigeria, you know all those marketing stuff.
insurance industry here is way ahead of the Naija insurance industry. People call in to buy insurance without marketing because it's compulsory

Hello house, trust we are all doing great. my mum came over 2 months ago and i purchased a travel insurance from Ax mansard. My mum slipped and fell as a result of the snow and her knee was dislocated. I understand the travel insurance covers medical/hospital expenses, i want to take her to the clinic for medical assistant. I would like to know if anyone has ever used the medical coverage of the insurance, Pls how does it work and can i really claim it. Pls i need your help. thanks
those Naija travel insurance don't carry weight. Try to get health insurance from private insurance companies in your province. In between Healthcare is very expensive in Canada for visitors . I know someone that his 70 years old mum slip on staircase, Mama had hip surgery. Total cost was over 100k, the medical expenses is like morgage now because the son does not have insurance for his Mum.

Travel / Re: Why You Shouldn't Risk Going To Western World For Greener Pastures! by Engr2000: 6:40am On Dec 13, 2021
The ending on your post is disrespectful to Nigerians in diaspora. I can speak for Canada, 90% of Nigerians I know here only do for menial jobs for Max 6 months before getting into a professional careers and Nigerians are holding managerial positions. I know you want to sell your services, but please get facts and not fallacies.
Bigkoko:
Embassies make more money at their designated Embassies or Visa Application Centres. It is a known fact that most Embassies especially the Western countries are making a huge profit from non-refundable visa application fees. They provide scanty services but charge huge unquestionable non-refundable fees. That’s the reason why most of them refused to change to the modern system of visas which is evisa. Furthermore, the rate of visa denial or rejection is so high compared to the number of applications received, that you wondered if the embassies concerned have not turned their missions into money-making ventures.

Countries such as Canada and the United States are known for making huge money from Nigeria visa applicants, no matter how you satisfy their draconian visa requirements or pay heavy school fees, your chance of getting these two countries visas are very slim. They make noises about their needs for immigrants to boost their workforce and cleverly advertise to lure visa applicants to apply for visas. Whereas, they know quite well that the chances of getting the visa are slim. What an absurdity.

Here's the solution!
Register your Company in Rwanda, Start an Importation business, get your PR & visit like you always want to! Don't go slave on a menial job all in the name of I'm in USA, Canada or UK!

Go for University of Waterloo, it highly rated and there are a lot of insurance company around that city for Coop. Actuarial Science is very lucrative in Canada, i am surprise Nigerians are not taking up this course. You can earn 6 digits per annum in a space of 2 years after your Msc. I work in the insurance industry and i know how difficult to keep them, they change jobs like pure water. I remember an insurance company paying 4k to their staff if you refer an actuary. please go for it. if you need further clarification. you DM.

I want to apply for Masters In Actuarial Science . Please is anybody studying In University of Waterloo, University of Calgary or Simon Fraser University. Please I need Info and guide on how to start the application.

We are in trouble in this country. Many Nigerians do not reason well. You cannot be converting currencies when comparing salary/living in two countries. There they earn dollars and spend in dollars. Here, we earn naira and spend in naira. You cannot convert in Canada and compare to Nigeria. smh. I find it hard commenting on this forum my goodness. Nigerians can sell their fortune or leave decent jobs to run to Canada, that is their problem. But many here who did that are full of regret. I will not tell you not to come. I will just keep quiet. The lady who tweeted said all Truth. Read her tweet and wise up. Wetin consin me? Hey, I am currently abroad, so do not argue what you do not know.

You said you are abroad and you lack courtesy...

Some of you are just naive. The op posts are true and that guy was right. Many Canadians cannot save $4000 in a year. He knows better but you will argue. That is why I do not tell people anything. Travel to Canada yourself and suffer. Experience is best teacher.

I agree with this post...

But also remember, many household in Canada have a mortgage with average payment of $1,500 per month, that's $18,000 per annum. That's an equity of around #5m. How many Nigerians can save #5m in a year?

Travel / Re: Nigerian Man Reveals Why He Dumped His High Paying Job To Relocate To Canada by Engr2000: 4:54am On Aug 29, 2019
mindworx:

Canada does not respect your Nigeria work experience and Canada will not negotiate you based on the pay grade in your naija company, and like you pointed out, this guy has not told us if he has taken additional education in Canada to boost his chances for the high paying jobs. If we drag the line between entry and average, this guy may be on 97k job (if he is lucky enough), this is pre-tax. At close to 27% tax, he earns about 1.6m naira monthly before the bills kick in. If we critic this guy on the basis of income, we can say he didn't make a good decision because you can save up to 65% of your monthly income in naija which you can't do in Canada, but he didn't leave for money, he left for the environment.

Stop this lie from the pit of hell and stop deceiving people...

There are so many Nigerians in Canada on Managerial grade...

If you are not interested in relocating, stop discouraging others...

Good evening everyone and thanks for keeping it real. Its so encouraging to read through genuine Nigerians' willingness to assistance.

This is my case.. I'm an Msc graduate from a Russian University. I reside presently in Russia.

I'll like to know my chances for student visa approval as I finished my Msc in 2017, but I'll like to go study Msc also in Canada (I got my Bsc in 2015 same from Russia),my wife finished her Bsc in Nigeria (2009).

My issue now is that, what are my chances of visa approval based on my study gap and that of my wife's.

Are my ties to Nigeria sufficient enough as I'm gonna be the major sponsor, I've got a registered business since 2017, I've got sufficient fund for living expenses. Statement of account is good for my wife and myself.

I understand my statement of purpose has to be on point. But I'll really appreciate from the experts what my chances are and what loop holes need to be tied.

Thanks in anticipation of your responses.

Guy,

If you or your wife have prior work experience, please go through express entry and get your PR straight from here. That is what I did anyway and my COPR is already in the bag.

Meanwhile search through Nairaland for the thread and learn more.

I am not quite sure I am in a good position to answer ppiness is via their career. know yourself and know what sacrifices makes sense for you and configure your plans accordingly, don't get bullied by what the majority thinks because at the end of the day your truth wouldn't subject itself to an election.

Good morning all,

I have a concern. My hubby who is the PA used his middlename as his surname in his passport. All our kids and I are bearing his middlename. His documents including ECA all have his father's name. He is about take IELTS. Please what should we do?
So instead of Mohammed Akinsola Onyeka (all documents except IELTS which may come out different), he used Onyeka Akinsola. The rest of us are Onyeka Trump, Onyeka Buhari.

Your husband need to formally change his name!

He should do a sworn affidavit and newspaper publication.
