Ayomax:
well I do disagree with you to some extend. don't we have kings tht were born again in the bible? king David n co?

In as much as I'd luv 2 agree with u, this scenario is quite different from the biblical times of the Israelites. Israel was, from the on-set, founded on a religion that believed in Jehovah as their God so their kings couldn't have decided to serve other gods freely without some form of opposition/chaos. But here, we are talking about people whose kingship had been based on African tradition. What do u expect? I think the best alternative would have been 2 decline the throne if possible, most times the heir to the throne really do not have an option as long as he's alive; expecially in the African context. Well, the only thing that's constant is changes so perhaps that trend might change with time & civilization.

I just feel so sorry 4 a lot of pple. I won't judge anyone here but I knw Jesus & d early apostles should be d standard of any MOG & xtians alike. All I'd ask is "what wud Jesus do with so much money in d coffers of d church?" Wud he acquire earthly properties here & there when his flocks are hungry? ain't nothing wrong in owning a house, a car etc but when it becomes excess beyond reason then its wrong. What shall it profit a man to gain d whole world & lose his soul? Why did d bible say we shudn't store up treasures on earth where rust, moth, thieves will consume them? Why did jesus feed 5000 pple? Cos he knew they were hungry what did d apostles do with d proceeds from the sales of their properties(we all knw d story of Ananias & Saphira; hope of got d spellings correctly), did dey acquire properties for demselves or did dey start up businesses with d proceeds? The truth is d church has lost it & its quite sad.

Like seriously?! Culture is dynamic & not static. Beats me how we strive to keep our culture forgetting the western world also had some cultures they made do with. If everyone keeps their cultures, we would still be in the stone ages.
As 4 me, I don't off my shoes, & if my host insists I'd tell them 2 come out let's do the talking outside. Anyway na poverty dey cause all dis kind tin

Romance / Re: Can True Love Exist In Poverty? by engrchux: 2:33pm On Oct 31, 2012
Love should be unconditional; the type Jesus has 4 us. To me, that type is almost impossible to come by. All we have 2day is conditional love. If true love exists, why can't an educated & rich woman fall in love with a road-side mechanic? The answer isn't far fetched; because love is conditional especially in the Nigerian context. People love people 4 what they are & not who they are. I won't blame them tho' cos they know not who they, themselves, are. Ask somebody "who are u?" & they'd say "I'm a lawyer, banker, doctor, etc". That's not who u are. Love is a much more bigger phenomenon than what we know it to be 2day & frankly speaking, u can't even tell if u love somebody when it's all rosy. Take a look at ur friends & u'll realize u selected them based on ur financial, education, health etc status. I mean what's wrong with a rich man/woman being friends with a beggar/leper etc? Spare me that crap of mingling with people in ur category. I'm guilty of that too, but that's what Jesus did. Little wonder they say "in prosperity our friends know us but in adversity we know our friends"
Confucius, the chinese philosopher said "nothing changes one's opinion about a friend as much as success, urs or his"

Reducing d number of apps won't solve bold 2 hanging problem. Best remedy is to downgrade ur OS from OS6 to OS5. Trust me u'll enjoy it more.
Phones / Re: How Effective Is A BlackBerry Bold 5? by engrchux: 1:27pm On Oct 30, 2012
My dear, my candid opinion; stay away from Bold 5. I'm a tech geek & I've fixed a lot of BBs & I can tell u that the most frequent prob with bold 5 is firmware prob. It just goes off & won't come up again no matter what u do. I presently have one in my custody I've been working on 2 no avail. It doesn't matter if its brand new or fairly; firmware ish doesn't know whether its brand new or used, perhaps that wud matter if u're talkin abt hardware problems. I'm not saying it happens to all bold 5 users but its better if u stay clear. RIM admitted to the fact that bold 5 has a peculiar firmware glitch. I'm using a bold 4 & I've been very pleased with its performance.

NYSC / Re: Interesting Experiences Of Corpers Serving In Remote Villages by engrchux: 4:17pm On Oct 25, 2012
I served in Gamawa LGA in Bauchi shortly b4 BokoHaram started their nefarious activities. Mehn, it waz hell. Everytin is extreme, frm mosquitoes, to scorpion, toads, earwig aka skirt & blouse. The heat waz nothing like I've experienced b4. The cold like winter without ice flakes. No lite, smelling water. OMG! U go to d market to buy meat & they will tell u dat they've all been bought my suya merchants even when u're seeing meat on their tables. We resorted to cookin wit goat head & their lower four limbs which went for N400 naira & anoda N50 for removing the fur/hide from d meat. Gamawa is a 3hr drive frm Bauchi town & only two buses ply d route directly each day so if u miss those buses, na wahala be dat, u go begin break d journey. U'll be seeing donkeys & camels on d road as u drive thru. I boarded vehicles wit rugged fulani men, women & their kids & I'll be like "wat if they kill me here in d middle of nowhere". I remember d 1st day we arrived at our PPA from camp, d old corp members welcomed us wit half-cooked rice & most of us where like "WTF". If wish I knew cos I ended up eating tuwo shinkafa on a mat cos they had only one yeye buka ran by an igbo lady in d entire village & she had already closed 4 d day. My belle begin do "Atiku- Obasanjo" chei. U wake up in d mrng, raise ur mattress & u'll see scorpion underneath. My school where I taught was smtin else, it was an afternoon sch wit not up to 50 students in all frm JSS1-JSS3. No SS classes. D school was totally ran by corpers with our principal who we later discovered went 4 his nysc like half way into our stay. Chei! But I had enuf time 2 travel sha, not doin up to six months in d entire one year cumulatively. I had one funny experience, went to d park 2 board a car goin 2 Bauchi & abt 4 fulani women sat in d boot of the gulf while seats where still vacant in d car. I later discovered dey even paid d same fare I paid.
Anyway I had fun sha cos we run tinz corper 2 corper, no mr biggs & co. No forming, in fact we dey chop our corper gals food wey dem cook wit biscuit bone & stuff free. All d corpers bfs & gfs wey dem hook up wit 4 camp bone dem cos 3hrs journey no be beans. Lol. D gals were fun starved so as badt new corpers wey come town, we gave dem numerous cheap grooves/parties. Wit 10k contribution beta party don set. We'll but like N3,000 goat head, Lord's dry gin 4 d guys & calypso mixed wit peak milk 4 d gals & dey will be like "OMG! Dey bought baileys" lol. The ponché no be here, enuf weed inside cos weed dey legalized there but alcohol na smuggling tinz. Twaz cheap fun tho'

ItsModella: Igbos call it Abacha. The English name is Tapioca.

Tapioca doesn't sound English to me tho', sounds like something of latino/Caribbean origin. Its common in 9ja for us 2 refer to anytin of western or foreign origin as English this & that. E.g Peter, Samuel, Samson, etc are often referred to as English names rather than Hebrew names.

I have a lot of favorite teachers but one comes 2 mind now for d laughter he always induced. He's name was Mr Anyameluhor (RIP), a t̸e̸a̸c̸h̸e̸r̸ flogger (cos dats all he ever did) in SPC, Asaba around late 1990's. He waz a disciplinarian & he alwayz told us cock & bull stories of how he was a good student, soldeir, astronaut etc. Lemme narrate some of d scenario...
(1) He goes like "During our time, if I score 99%, I ask for d remaining 1%. My teacher then, he's tall, black, fair, short, fat, slim... U may know him, Omengo by name..."
(2) "Yesterday some group of bad boyz in dis school way-layed me in town, they surrounded me, I calculated them, one rushed me wit a stick but I dodged, & grabbed him by d neck, & d villagers around started shouting "Diokpa! Diokpa!! E ge gbu madu eee, pls 4give dem..."
(3) "Truancy is not jst starting 2day, during our time wen I waz in d army, we wud be training while some of my colleagues will be gisting under the mango tree. My commandant will jst send me to go & plant bomb under d mango, which I'll do & d bomb wud kill dem all"
(4) "During our time, we went 2 d moon, we passed thru Enugu..."
Dunno if he tot we swallowed all his numerous lies hook, line & sinker tho' but he waz one hell of a joker. Lol

The Mayans & Aztecs predicted this, Nostrademus predicted this... The world is gradually changing from what we know it 2 be. Could it be dat it is coming 2 an end? I've been making findings abt the illuminati & a lot of conspiracy theories surrounding dem after I saw a documentary abt a major disaster the world might face in dec 2012. They already gave us a glimpse of wat it might look like in d movie titled "2012". I really wanna say more but I hate typing on mobile keypad. I'll admonish y'all to google abt illuminati & 2012 agenda, RFID chip, chemtrails, etc. U'd be amazed wat has been happening b4 our very eyes; hw Satan is usin these guys 2 control the world.

14yrs, VW beetle. I'd been watchin my dad; how he changed gears & manipulated d pedals. I drove on d tarred road within town d 1st day I eva drove a car & I didn't bash. Driving is a thing of interest, guts & d skill automatically follows suit. Teenagers learn faster than adults because dey have dis daring confidence unlike adults who think abt accident & mishap thereby being a bit too careful.

I remember my uncle's wife catching me red-handed watching po(r)nography aka mojo on my uncle's VHS video cassette player in his sitting room. She eJected the cassette & seized it as physical evidence to present to my uncle when he returned from work. She didn't like me much then cos I was so mischievous. I was so troubled & time was ticking very fast, with every second bringing me nearer to the consequence; my uncle was already a retired Major as at the time. Anyways I kept targeting the cassette she kept in her handbag which was on the dining table, praying 4 her to loose guard. The opportunity came & she did, she fell into a nap on the long couch in the sitting room. I quickly retrieved the cassette, screwed it open, removed the mojo tape inside & replaced it with musical video tape of snoop dogg, warren G, Salt & Pepper, TLC & all the reigning artistes of the 1994 era, by so doing the title & look of the cassette was the same on the outside but the content had miraculously changed on the inside. Then I quietly returned it back to her handbag. Lol. My uncle eventually returned & she narrated the story backed up with evidence , only 4 her to insert the cassette & Snoop dogg was rapping. She fast forwarded, rewind, stopped, ejected, confirmed it was the same cassette she seized, re-inserted etc. The worst they saw where some gals in bum shorts dancing & shaking their booties. Lol.
My uncle got furious with her & started attacking her that she's always wanting to cause wahala in the house with his people & she felt like a fool & a liar. Lol
