I wish to share my testimony here to help encourage somebody to believe in his or her self. And also for us to know that people can still get good job based on merit.

I lost my former job with an E-commerce company last October 2015 due to what the management termed head-count on which they laid off more than 80% of the workforce.

Since then I kept on responding to online job alerts. 3 weeks ago, I was invited for an interview by a multinational company at Abuja (though I have gone for close to 5 interviews and tests since this year) As God may have it I just got a letter of appointment and to the Glory of God I will be resuming on 1st of April.

I came across this story online and I was flabbergasted.

Danielle Whipple, a 24 year old single mother was arrested for beating her child who flushed their rent money down the toilet because she (the mum} refused to watch TV.

The woman's neighbours reported to the police because they heard the child crying and heard the sound of smacking. When police arrived at the scene, they found Whipple' child, whose gender and age was not released, with a black eye, a bleeding nose and a red handprint on the face.

Subsequently she was arrested and now faces a charge of felony child abuse.

Now, I am in no way in support of child abuse, but i want to throw it to Nairalanders: How would you react if your child deliberately flushed N162,000 house rent money down the toilet because you refused to watch a movie with him/her?

Note that $720 is about N162,000 in Nigerian currency.

Obviously, my child cannot do this because I must had stared early enough to train him/her well

Nigeria's largest cement producer, Dangote Cement Plc in an update on strategy has announced a reduction in the price of its market-leading brand of cement.

In a bid to stimulate building work across Nigeria, Dangote Cement says it's reducing the price of its market-leading 3X brand of cement in Nigeria by ₦300 per 50kg bag, or ₦6,000 per tonne.

The new price will become effective immediately. The company is also undertaking a number of marketing initiatives designed to stimulate consumption of cement in Nigeria and to increase exports.

According to Dangote Chief Execkutive, Onne van der Weijde, "our cost-saving initiatives in Nigeria have enabled us to cut the price of cement to a level that is good for consumers yet still allows us to achieve strong returns that are sustainable in the longer term.

"We hope that reducing the cost of cement will help to stimulate building work across Nigeria at a time when the economy is in need of a boost.
