you have done it before you did it to their predeecessors you called them tired legs...you called them old cargo like the jews, you shouted...away with them, away with them then theey were flushed out unceremoniously.. we are yet to recover from that emotive rush of madness from football stakeholders...(administrators,press,fans and all) Today we are back to our vomits,eulogising their exploits. we started "rebuilding" hoping to create a pardise without foundtion till today we are still "rebuilding" I must admit,our performance in Brazil was below "our expecttion" BUT WAIT OOO what informed our expectaions sef  was it that we have been too awesome ok maybe too awesome that we did not win nation's cup for 19 years too awesome that we could not qualify for world cup in 2006 too awesome that for 16 years we never won a match in any world cup... too awesome that four years ago we failed to qualify for even "common" nation's cup even 2010 world cup,we needed a presidential task force to "play" in order to qualify.... some of the insults I see people heap on Keshi is highly unneccessary.... Keshi has his faults.......Just like many of us...he need to upgrade his technical knowledge too....just like many a coach. He need to upgrade BUT this records are NO LUCK; Breaking the 19 years jinx of trophylessness(times two of Arsenl's record) after we failed to qualify for the previous event. Gave us the first world cup qualification without ,"if to say" and permutations. Took us across first round since 1998, gave us our first victory in a world cup event since 16 years NO FLAIR IN THE TEAM BUT YOU CANT DENY THEIR RESULTS. Talking about flair the 1994 team you celebrate was build over five years....after we failed to qualify in 1989 for italian 90...westerhorf took time to buil a team that exploded in 1994...maybe we were yet to start being this impatient and overexpectant then...5 whole years of building ? and nobody was sacked?wooow Let's keep insulting the team,players and coaches just like we did to Okocha ,Oliseh nd co...during their time. ARE WE NOT PRAISING THEM NOW AS THE BEST THING EVER HPPENED TO US SINCE LORD LURGARD'S GIRL FRIEND COINED THE WORD NIGERIA ON MIKEL; if you are over 30 years,living and still eating under your father's roof and you are shouting on top of your voice that Mikel is not playing to his potential; pause, think ,because you are NOT "playing" your life at all......succeding and remaining successfull is no child's play.....football and life are interwooven. or better still, go and arrest Ogbuke,Issac promise, Rabiu Ibrahim, etc...to come and stisfy your insatiable demand for jay jay incarnate....The attack is just too much for this guy... yes,he did not performed as we "expected" BUT you cant rule out the fact that he represents one of the best exports in our football history.....especially staying in a top team for soo long to fight for a place instead of chikening out to Cyprus or Russia like some of our players will do.....I have read some sound criticism about his performance which I agree with BUT blatant insults and abuse is mere "witchry" and "wizadry" If you have not met the target set in your office since last year,you need more lectures on determintion,committment and passion more than super eagles. If you belong to NLC,ASUU,ASUP AND CO ,you are the wrongest person to start preaching to super eagles about patroitism before money... PATROITISM and passion for ones fatherland is not an exclusive reserve for footbalers.......it's a virtue "imbibable" by all,for all endeavours. Now that BRASIL 2014 is over for Nigeria....how I wish we will set a goal of what we want in Russia 2018,work towrds it and ensure that we wont have any hitch there..... including fighting for money in the camp. ---David O Ani 1 Like |
