@ Geist: I saw that rule somewhere. It states that you can't have multiple applications in the same cycle. If you do it and they detect it, AT LEAST na the end of your application be that.

I didn't know this too while applying for class XIII until I finished the curriculum. Just check your spam folder for the test link's mail and if it isn't there, wait for 2-3 days. You should get it before then.

Ali01, here's your answer. So no, you don't need a new account. Note that it's against Andela's rules to apply 2+ times in the same cycle.

How did your interview go?

It went very well. I was interviewed by two men and it was more of a friendly conversation than a barrage of questions that make you ill at ease. They asked my name, my previous software projects, what I would have done differently about those projects, what I knew about Andela, if I was really ready for a 4 year commitment etc.

A main point, however, was a certain paper they gave us before the interview to read and digest for ten minutes and then come and answer questions about.

Similarly, this time around, they DID ask a technical question, which was about binary search.

I have also been ruminating on what I must have done wrong during the application process and also the tests phase. But, sincerely I'm yet to find a way around it. I feel, for one not to be making the same mistake over and over, we should know what not to do the next time and the things to watch out for. Going through all the pages on this thread has not even answered "what not to do the next time?". Enigmatique and those who got invitation mails, we wish you the very best of luck, kindly drop hints on what you guys have done that you feel might have been the deciding factor for Andela recruitment process.

I'm suprised that it passes all the tests bro. Why? Coz there's a major bug in there: that while loop in prime_number() is an infinite loop! You forgot to increment it in your loop.

Secondly, lines 14 and 16 are PREMATURELY returning True/False. You should test EVERY integer less than the input, which is why you correctly used the while loop. However, as it is, your function is only testing for whether a number is odd or not.
SOLUTIONS:
1. Increment i in the body of your while loop.
2. Use this pseudocode for your while loop:

create a variable is_prime and initialize it to True
while i is less than test_num
>>if i divides test_num without a remainder(i.e i is a factor of test_num)
>>>>assign False to is_prime
>>>>break out of the loop
>>else
>>>>increment i and let the loop go on
when the loop ends, return is_prime

- Yes, remove the for loop permanently. That's where the bug is.
- In JS, individual statements are terminated with semicolons ( ; ). However, if you write a semicolon with NO commands before it, that constitutes an EMPTY statement. That's what I meant. So the body of your for loop is actually an empty statement.

ABSOLUTELY remove that for loop. Doesn't have any use whatsoever, and its body is even an empty statement (i.e a single semicolon). Your code will work thereafter.

Giving you our scripts is against Andela's rules and against our code of conduct in this thread. We need to help each other as much as possible to become elite devs, and that's how we do it. But we're very available to debug. So where're your scripts?

Ah, seems I've been too fast to speak oo. Biko no vex. Looking at your code now, I can see that you totally misconstrued the lab. Your function should be acting BASED ON an argument, which could be a multiple of 3, 5, BOTH or NONE. So, re-read the instructions and rewrite your solution.

Sorry for jumping to conclusions before biko.

The guy even see error, he has not code reach a point where everything fails and the interpreter won't even tell you which line, you will start begging the interpreter for just a line of error message, when you finally realize there is no hope with the interpreter, you shine your eyes then start debugging line by line till you realize it is one chikini small thing causing the whole pandemonium and at that point you feel like smashing your system against the wall.

Guy, as tr3y said, you should have tried harder to figure this out yourself by simply looking at the error messages. They indicate that your code isn't returning the appropriate output for the various inputs it was tested with. So, correct your code.

Yea bro you're right..somehow I confused prime numbers with odd numbers. I guess that's where the issue is. As for the get_algorithm_result(), checking for the last element in the list and breaking out of the loop was not part of my code before. I added it when this issue started cos I was trying to follow exactly the steps outlined in the Lab instructions. Thanks for the tips tho, I'll try submitting again tomorrow, and will definitely give you feedback..
