Ccanyanwu: Please add me to the whatsapp group 07033548895. Applied for the summer class 2016 I really doubt that Erza is a member of or the admin of that group. I encourage people to stay on Nairaland so that future applicants can learn from their experience, but if you really desire the WhatsApp group, you should be talking to WafiJoe instead. |

ess2dkay: I'm done with the plum test. However the issue is the home study on http://proctor.andela.co/. It shows "no curriculum loaded" and there's this pop up at the bottom left of the screen which says: "You are not permitted to carry out this operation". Please kindly enlighten as to how this problem can be solved.
Also note that I followed the suggestion from the Andela FAQ page to refresh the page and click on the home screen, but still that did not work. - Use Chrome browser. It's the OFFICIALLY approved/supported browser by Andela. - That "you're not permitted to carry..." message is there because you're not logged in. Use Chrome, try to log in and let's know if it worked. |

Since making sales is key to being a successful entrepreneur. I am not so frequent on nairaland. You can always drop me a mail for clarification. Cheers No wahala. Thanks for the help. |

Indeed, one woman's food is another woman's poison. I bought my Innjoo Fire in September 2015 and I've been rocking it ever since. True, it initially had a firmware bug that made it discharge once it got to 100% WHILE it was still plugged into power, but Innjoo released an update and all has been good ever since.
Sympathies to those who had/are having bad experiences. It's a thumbs up from me though! |

Business › Re: Naira Tumbles To 391/dollar by enigmatique(m): 9:59am On Feb 19, 2016 |
oyinkinola: ....there are very many commentary on depreciation of ₦ nowadays expecially in parallel market, although parallel or black market can be manipulated by the traders, they either do it on their self interest, so those who doesn't beleive in the prosperity of nigeria can harbour $ as they can on imported goods hereby cause hike! But in my own point of view the depreciation of ₦ is a great success to this nation if well manage to nigeria situation today. the looted fund is in $ and it must be refunded back in $, so if $1 is ₦198 when the money is looted, then if the money is refund today at $1 to ₦350 the nation has gained ₦152! imagine if $1=₦1000, the gain is ₦902! So in conclusion if the government managed to refund the $trillion looted and the refunded money, change it in parallel market, this will reduce the pressure on ₦ and the scarcity of $ in parallel market so the ₦=$.
(take note all the money took out of CBN during jonathan regime were changed in parallel market before ditributed)
you have other opinion? But the problem is the government won't take the recovered funds to the market to change it, will they? So, this perspective of the matter can only benefit individuals and maybe, MAYBE so companies. But it's a unique angle/perspective to the matter though. |

blackberlin: Glo 3k 6GB is nonsense. I regret subscribing to it. . . It seems the network is always congested due to its cheapness and it's always fluctuating from EDGE/GPRS to HSPA (3G). . . That's too bad. . . and I'm in Lagos! If you're using an Android phone: Go to "Settings" >> "More">> "Mobile Networks" >> "Preferred Network Type" and choose the "3G only" option or its equivalent. That way, your phone permanently/always connects to the 3G network alone and doesn't try to switch. |

In it, Andela said if the link to the Plum Test is not sent on time and if the issue is from their end, then you can just proceed with the Home Study Test and they should soon get back to you with the link to the Plum Test. Besides, did you reg' using Google Chrome? And what about the link to the Home Study Curriculum? Have you gotten that one? That said, I still want to strongly urge you to read that FAQ page. |

ANTONINEUTRON: BUT what do you think about Android OS laptops?? Nah, I would not advocate you get one. If I remember correctly, you said you want to use your desired laptop for programming. MOST of the software for programming isn't available as Android apps e.g the Java SDK (Software Development Kit), the Python interpreter, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc aren't available for the Android OS. So Android lappies may be around 30k but they are not what you need. |

ANTONINEUTRON: But can i have a PC with a price tag of 20-30,000 naira Fulaman198: Good luck with that, highly unlikely unless someone gives you one for free That's very true. The other option you have is to get a second-hand PC, and it'll probably be a mini laptop or a desktop (if you don't mind using one ). And from personal experience, I would NOT advise you to explore this option. Rather, continue to save/earn money to buy a confirm PC of 60-80k. |
Computers › Re: Ubuntu Linux by enigmatique(m): 2:37pm On Jan 08, 2016 |
Fulaman198: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is pretty outdated. You can install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS or Ubuntu 15.10. Ubuntu 16.04 is scheduled for this year. I was expecting/anticipating you to comment about that. Yeah, I agree that Precise Pangolin is pretty dated. But then, I installed Ubuntu ab initio because I wanted to do some Android ROM development (but then fell in love with the distro itself). The reason was that on Google's AOSP page, they indicated that the distro to be used for Android AOSP dev was Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Don't know if they've updated this requirement to Trusty Tahr i.e 14.04 LTS. So, the main reason why I'm yet to upgrade to Trusty Tahr is that I still plan/wish to carry out ROM dev in the future. |

tr3y: I am not related to them in any way, I saw it on job board and decided to share it here. It is worth it if you want to walk the entrepreneur path. I wanted to apply to Andela but the four years contract discouraged me but this one is one year which is great IMO. Me too. That four-year contract is a very significant matter to my mind, though not an absolute turn-off for me. But I think this one is cool too. By the way, thank you for your kindness and care to share this on NL. But it needs more publicity. Therefore, shout out to lalasticlala, ishilove, davide470 and uboma. |

https://www./lenovo-g50-80-intel-core-i3-1.7ghz-4gb1tb-hdd-15.6-inch-windows-8-laptop-with-bagbr-1435744.html
What you are looking for would probably cost about 100K or so. Ask around I'm not a computer vendor sadly. I highly appreciate your help bro. Thank you very much. I'm also already looking at the Acer E5- series, perusing the specs of the many/available variants. This one you just recommended should be another one to have a look at. By the way, why I followed this thread in the first place is that my main/favorite OS right now is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. |
