PhilipsID: I have invested with Payvest ie One Carbon. There highest ROI is 15.5 for fixed deposit per year. Currently I still have an investment with them that will mature in about three months. They are been reliable and pay promptly without any stress at all.
Roger that bro. I'm happy to hear your report. Please continue to give us updates as time goes on about their performance. Thank you.
PhilipsID: I had invested with Carbon - One Finance. The highest ROI is 15.5% per annum. I got back my capital and ROI at the appropriate date without any stress. Currently I have another investment with them that will mature in about three months. They seems to understand what they are doing but their interest is on the low side.
Roger that. Thanks for sharing. It's good to hear the first success story about investing in PayvestCarbon.
See ehn benedictuyi leave them oo. We have said our piece for the sake of posterity. Some have listened, some haven't. For those who haven't, well it's their money on the line, not ours. So just leave them.
110% in 3 months. Ok oo. If whatever biz they were running were truly that profitable, they wouldn't need crowdfunding at all to fund it and even if they used crowdfunded funds to kickstart their operations, they wouldn't need it for more than 1-2 cycles before being self-sufficient. But no wahala na. Make we dey look the matter. At least this will serve as another cautionary tale.
"Why are you shaking your head?", you say. Well it's because it firmly reminds me of the epic post below that was written by MrMcJay. And I'm asking myself "can a real, stable and sustainable business be such that its ads are way more visible online than its business operations?". I have my answer and it's a big no. However, answer that for yourself too.
I have said my own.
MrMcJay: Real farmers don't make noise. Real farmers don't require fancy offices. Real farmers don't attend expensive conferences to be speaking big grammar. Real farmers ain't advertise on giant billboards and BRT buses. Real farmers don't employ 100 marketers and 10 farm staff. Real farmers are concerned about their farms than their corporate outlook. Real farmers know that getting buyers are more important than getting investors.
I have been advising people on real estate transactions for years now and I can confidently say that the same tricks fraudulent real estate companies use in luring clients is what many of these agritech companies now use. Fraudulent startup founders use same tactics to swindle investors.
You start a new agritech firm and all you are engaged in is advertising on BRT buses and fancy offices. Yet on your website and Instagram pages, you have no pictures of actual farming operations. Go and look, all you see are useless motivational quotes.
Many fraudulent real estate companies are now delving into agritech and thousands of investors would lose billions. People who have never planted a plot of pepper seeds in their lives are promising investors 50% per annum on their capital.
Look at the screenshot and see how these ones are talking to investors online. If their farms have issues tomorrow, how do you expect these ones to help you.
enigmatique: I'm sorry but I'm not open to giving out my contacts at this time.
That said, if you're asking "where can I can go to to invest in themap", well, I don't know much about that. So you can read through the last 3-4 pages of this thread to get that info.
If you mean "what companies can I invest in in general", well, you will still need to do your due diligence, but for sure there are low-to-medium or medium risk companies that you can look at. Firstly, head over to the agritech thread and take a look at the companies in the green section of the list we have in that thread and which is maintained by MummyIMadeIt. I suggest you should start from the ones among them that your suit your needs for ROI, farm/investment duration etc and decide whether you want to try them out. Then as you gain more experience in this category of crowdfunded investments, you can start looking at the ones in the "New performing farms under Observation" section of that list for medium risk opportunities.
As for this thread, well, we don't have a list yet. Right now we're just cross-examining non-agritech companies that seem to have a strong foundation so that we can invest in them. So far, themap and PayvestCarbon are the ones that we've looked at the most. Personally I'm currently looking at Rentcrowdy and will share my findings later, probably next weekend. So look at the ones we've be examining and also pick one of the yet-to-be-reviewed ones below and find all you can about them. Share what you find here so we that we can learn from you too.
Cheers.
I'm sorry folks. I've had a rather busy week so I didn't have the time to finish my report on Rentcrowdy. I'll try and get it done by the end of next weekend. Cheers.
Telsidelake: @enigmatique Well done. Keep it up. I was sceptical as well when i saw they were based in Port Harcourt. Yes, i know. It is silly to judge a business based on location. But i can't help it. Also their IG page is scanty. Started June 17, 2020. What were they doing all that time. I was just hoping with the way you do your indepth reviews you would change my mind. But it seems you also have your reservations.
Yes I definitely also have my reservations. A rule of thumb that I have engraved in my mind for a while now is that, in investing, if it seems too good to be true, it most likely is. Another thing is that a successful, stable and investable business must have exquisite business operation skills, and themap doesn't have that either. I can go on but I've expressed all my reservations a few times before. So I will stop here.
But you, me and everyone that has reservations about themap may end up being wrong. Only time will tell. So let's see how things will unfold from now till at least a year from now.
mine85: Where can I invest? You seem to give open clear analysis? Can I chat you
I'm sorry but I'm not open to giving out my contacts at this time.

The non-agritech crowdfunders that I've come across and that I'm investigating right now are the following: - Aella: for providing micro/personal loans. - Rentcrowdy: for providing rent payment loans/advances. - PayvestCarbon: for powering the micro/personal loans that are provided by Carbon (formerly known as Paylater). They are different from the Payvest owned by Cosmotran that we now call PayvestCosmotran. - TRJ Company Limited: for providing micro loans. - Wealth.ng: investing in estate, hand-picked stocks and also some agritech. - Lendha: most probably for powering micro/personal loans too.
So let's continue cross-examining these companies and share what we find.
TokyoBulls: This is unnecessary attention seeking. I shared full details of all my deposits into the company account and payment per week for the past 12 weeks with people who wanted proof. There is nothing to hide. You will not take the money from my account na. Making insinuations about people being part of a scheme is unnecessary noise. You talk as if we are investing with your money or we need your approval to invest. When we invest in a business, we do due diligence and weigh return vs risk and invest in good conscience. I invested in May and have been paid 12 times so far. I am not here to convince you or anyone to invest or not to invest. That decision is left for you. Insinuating that some people are part of a scheme is just outright silly. As if it is not you people who cry wolf like this that 'invested' in MMM.
Even if 1milli invested in MMM, what happened at the end of that journey may have taught him/her a lesson on how to avoid future MMMs. And if he/she is now shouting "Wolf!" because the alarms from that experience are going off in his/her head, then that is justified in my opinion.
And yes you and epignosis19 have definitely been trying to convince people on this thread to invest in themap because you are their affiliates. You can't deny that. So if 1milli thinks themap is a scam, then y'all will definitely be looked at in a bad light too. In my opinion, the only way to get exonerated is to deny any wrongdoing (which you have done), keep doing you and let themap prove their stability and reliability over the next 1 year at least. Then, just like themap, you will be looked at with a light of "they are legit".
1milli: I dont know abt this themap shaa o...bt they seem very fishy to me...i asked them on their whatsapp about how they come abt their profit and ROI bt no response yet for almost 5days nw...thats a redflag for me o...u guys shld really nt rush and put ur money there, dnt believe what sm ppl ar saying here abt investing 110units,having recieved their ROI and all that...they cld all be ppl in d same scheme trying to play on ur senses to let go of ur money...wait first b4 putting ur money in...if they ar legit, they ar nt going anywhr for a long time...wait first and observe...jx my humble opinion o
I have said, resaid and restated the same thing, but most people have refused to listen to me. themap looks way too good to be true, but people are still buying into it. So once again I urge Nairalanders to avoid investing in themap until we get more insight into their operations, leadership and other evidences of a company as large and profitable as they are claiming to have.
But maybe you, 1milli, and I are wrong and are being too cautious. Maybe. Time will surely tell.
I'm reluctant to do so right now 'cause my initial look at them raises serious questions about how sustainable their promised ROI and their business are. However, I might change my mind once I'm done reviewing the RentCrowdy that I am currently looking at. Let's just see how it will go.
nicestlady: Wish I had known about this thread earlier. What do I do now? Any suggestions anyone?
I don't know, really. Consider googling FCCPC and see if you can leverage their duties to get your money back. I also suggest that you head over to the agritech thread and ask for advice there too. All the best.
nicestlady: Hello guys. Has anyone here ever invested in ZCPI africa? I invested in their palm oil trading investment with 30% ROI in 3 months.
Since 14th of August. Up to now, no MOU or invoice sent to my email as promised. No response to my chats or messages.
Have I been scammed?
You can read a previous discussion about ZCPI below.
Tobi22: Did anyone invest with Zcpi? A colleague of mine invested with zcpi, return on investments including Capital are all overdue. She said no one is picking their phone calls and their instragram account seems to have been removed
Telsidelake: Well done. Very in depth analysis. In truth, the ROI is low when compared with Agritech. I see them as something you can use for your untouchable savings rather than for investment.
I mostly agree, especially now that treasury bills is so unattractive.
