Thank you bosslady, I appreciate.

bossladymo1:

Changing to 190 from 489 onshore, is the same as applying for a 190 offshore. Once your occupation is on the list it should be on, then every other thing will fall in place. You can change to a 190 anytime after arrival. The only diff is onshore applications are sometimes processed faster by DIBP....which makes sense tho, as you are already here.

Thank you Ferdii

ferdiii:

U may need to focus on what u can do to pull through. Redoing ur English test for maximum points to move to 189...may be it.
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by enilim: 4:21am On Jul 17, 2015
He did answer but what i really wanted to know is the ease of changing from 489 to 190 in months like you did.
its under special condition in SA, one of the conditions is ability to get high marks.
Thanks

bossladymo1:

NNBB2012 has answered you.

Also, how come SA needs 80 points? I don't understand. 55pts is the minimum required for state nomination on 190, and 50 for 489.
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by enilim: 4:18am On Jul 17, 2015
Thank you, I appreciate.
I do have understanding of all these, i do not need employment contract to be invited, it is after the invitation that you need to show work contract. I am not saying am not able to meet the work contract condition, I just want to know the ease of changing from 489 to 190 within a year.
Thank you once again

NNBB2012:

Unfortunately, your occupation is not on SOL list hence you cannot apply for 189 and there are only two states,WA and SA that can nominate you. These states have strict conditions that you must meet which I doubt if you currently have them. For example, since your occupation is on schedule 2, it means you must have employment contract,English requirement and sufficient fund. The main reason why you have not been invited is because of the Employment contract. Do you have one now? And even 489 visa have similar conditions, so that does not help matter.
The only thing I think you could do is to take a look at the list and see any occupation you feel that matches your qualification cum your experience and go for it. Australian migration requires thorough analysis before venturing into it in the first place.
Travel / Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by enilim: 4:04pm On Jul 16, 2015
Dear bosslady,
your counsel will be highly appreciated.
I submitted EOI to western Australia for program/project administrator over two months ago. yet to be nominated. I have 60 points with state nomination, in few months, i will lose 10 points because of age. The only other state with this occupation is Adelaide, they require 80 points to apply, I cannot make this 80 point even with superior English (retake IELTS).
Do you think going for 489 may make a difference in the nomination for western Australia even though i still need to get a job in the region if i am nominated.
I know you were on 489 and converted to 190 within months of arrival. Am thinking of this, please kindly advice me.
Thank you

Please kindly give an idea of how to write a CV to suit an Australian employer. I remember you mentioned something about more of one's experiences.
Will appreciate your help. Thank you.

Welcome back bosslady.
Thank you for displaying maturity.
Remember, you promised to give back and not leave us.
I hold you to those words.
God bless you and yours.

I derive pleasure from helping people. It's just the way I am, the way I am programmed. I am not some sadistic psycopath who derives pleasure from online attention. I am of the opinion that no one should be left in Nigeria, if they have the chance to gain a better life abroad....especially people with kids. Looking at my kids, I know that even if something happens and we can't afford to pay for their education...they have a government and systems in place to enable them continue their education as much as they can. So if I can help anyone else in any way I can, why not? I don't answer questions to show off. I say what I know. I was once a novice also. I remember my very first post on this thread. But I took my time to research thoroughly...like I said, I was not willing to spend a huge chunk of money on a process I knew nothing about.

So for someone to come and say there is more to me 'online niceness'....hmmm.....

I will let it die there.

Thanks to everyone who came to my defence.

I guess the use of agent depends so much on ur assessment ...if ur previous knowledge align wit ur propose course and a good SOP. I tink u shud be fine however if u are going for any tafe SVP u might need agent for visa checklist...better still try nswtafe or tafesa.

thank you. Tafe sa referred me to an agent even tafe western australia did same. I will try Nsw. I really don't want agent even though course is SVP

yes you pay your first semester and insurance, if you have indicated that you want the school to arrange the insurance for you.
Please did you use an agent to get your admission. I applied for my brother, and was referred to agent in Nigeria. When I applied last year, it was direct and easy.

Have him use the fixed deposit certificates issued by the Bank. If he doesn't have, he should ask his Account Officer for it, its a simple thing.
Also, you may include his account statement that shows history of the money being booked from the account.
If you are not going SVP, I advise that you include additional explanation about the funds on separate piece of paper addressed to the DIBP. If you are going SVP, explain to the school that funds will be liquidated as and when needed to meet your study expenses.
I hope this helps.
