..... I may be wrong, but in my opinion we aint going nowhere with the Super Eagles and our indigenous coaches except we give Samson Siasia an extended contract, and a contract with a human face. Give the Super Eagles to Siasia, give him a 4yrs contract, and pls give him a free hand. Oliseh is at best an experiment, a trial and error coach,.....an experiment in the wrong direction. When NFF is serious, Sia 1 will be called upon to handle the team. |
......un-put-downable!!! (pardon my tunranchi abeg). Gripping......although too long! |
Hear Akpabio........ “So far, on a personal note, I am impressed with the list that was sent by the President. I believe that he has kept his word by ensuring that we seek out people of integrity who can salvage the country." This man is a buffoon for sure, why won't he be impressed on a personal note! 85% of the people on that list don't have integrity, nor honour. |
IbnSultaan:Guy, a sting operation is one in which several targets are simultaneously picked up/apprehended from several different locations. That woman's arrest wasn't a sting operation joor..... |
c4tnoelz:Covenant University? Really Truth is 9 out of every 10 private universities in naija are at best advanced secondary schools. They are only universities on paper, and believe me, NUC knows this too well. Take a closer look at the criteria for this particular ranking,.......no private university in Nigeria can be amongst the top 20 universities in Nigeria if the elements of this criteria are applied strictly. Forget the fact that most of them have different levels of accreditation for their courses,......accreditation in Nigerian universities is a 'money for hand, back for ground thing'.....even among so called Faith-based universities. |
ThisMeansWAR:You need to be true to yourself young man. This government hasn't fulfilled even one promise at the stipulated time, let truth be told! 1. Officially buhari is yet to declare his assests and liabilities PUBLICLY. Yes, he has done that to the CCB, but even Jonathan did in 2011 without being pressured. The only insignificant extra buhari has done was that one of his media aides (after so much pressure from Nigerians, and at about the time buhari was marking 100 days in office) read to the press some aspects of his assests, from the form he filled. That's certainly not how to declare assets and liabilities PUBLICLY. If Buhari had been sincere with his campaign promise, the least I expected of him was to have handed over a photocopy of that form (he submitted to CCB) to press men right at Eagle Square immediately he was sworn in on 29th May. Forget all that dumb talk that CCB needs to verify the contents of the form within 30 days,....all that talk is simply to hoodwink Nigerians. 2. You claim the ministerial list is out. Is it really? The list was handed over to the Senate president at precisely 4.58/4.59pm on Wednesday 30th Sept. Did buhari really need to leave it that late? Buhari had 2 full months (less 2 days) from the day he was declared winner of the 2015 presidential elections to the day he was sworn in as president,.....and yet we had to wait another 4 whole months for him to that a list of his cabinet to the Senate (and mind you, not to Nigerians. The earliest this Senate is going to make that list Public is Tuesday 6th Oct, in plenary session,....so, for the everyday Nigerian the waiting game simply continues!!!). If we are objective, buhari has failed Nigerians on that belated promise too. How many others do we expect? The earlier we tell ourselves the plain truth by admitting that GMB isn't 30% has prepared to lead this country out of the doldrums as we erroneously thought he was, the better for our physche as a nation. My opinion doesn't subtract from the fact that GMB is infinitely better than GEJ. And that 2yrs of GMB will turn out better than 6yrs of GEJ!!! The truth remains, we expected much more, far much more, from a Buhari-led government. I am a Buharist, so no one should think me a wailing wailer. |
illitrate:Your moniker tells it all,.... ILLITERATE. When did being truthful equate being an idiot? So, instead of the truth, you prefer to perpetuate the tales by moonlight of Solomon arase and his N50 roger collecting goons? Coming out with the truth does not in anyway encourage kidnappers, just as concealing the truth doesn't discourage kidnapping. IGP claiming in public that the police rescued Falea is the height of official irresponsiblity,.....he should be shown the way out of the Force. |
favouredseed:Abeg what's new about road? And it's kinda misleading to say it's the new road to Kaduna,.....there is no new road to Kaduna. It's at best an alternative route that by-passes Zuba, if you are going to Kaduna from Abuja, or Abuja from Kaduna. |
omusiliyu:If this is truly a measure of good governance then am sorry to put it to you that your parents wasted scarce resources to send you to school. What has governance gat to do with religion? Please go to Jos town today (lalong's state capital), perhaps then you will understand better that lalong at best, is a fraud of a governor. Plateau state is better without him. |
TonyeBarcanista:Guy,....you vigorously campaigned, abeg explain to us how you achieved this. 2ndly, where did you carry out these campaigns? On Nairaland/Cyberspace abi on the floor of the National Assembly? It's as clear as day now that you are at best a misguided youth, the likes of Abati Reuben are certainly your role model.....apostles of anywhere belly face Politics. |

If you ain't honest with a thing as basic as claiming cars only come wit a single key now, how then can we trust you with what you portend to be marketing I will think twice b4 I patronize someone like you! |

(First published on my Facebook Wall on September 15, 2014. At the time, Monsieur Blaise Compaore was trying to amend Burkina Faso’s constitution and extend his stay in power. A little over a year later, you tell me what has changed in the continent.) Ko ma s'eni t'Olorun o se fun o. Listening to news about Burkina Faso on TV5 just now, I realize that there is nobody in Africa who doesn't have a reason to thank God that his situation is less bad than his neighbour's. Our friend in Ouagadougou, Blaise Compaore, is trying to amend the constitution in order to run for another term of office in 2015. He has been ruling Burkina Faso since he killed one of our prophets, Thomas Sankara, on behalf of France in 1987. But the Burkinabe can say: “I may have been living in a banana republic life presidency since 1987, I thank God that my life in a dictatorship is one year younger than the life of the Ugandan who has been in Yoweri Museveni's life presidency since 1986.” The Ugandan says: “True. But I thank God that my experience of dictatorship is four years younger than that of the Cameroonian who has been a hostage of Paul Biya's banana republic since 1982.” The Cameroonian says: “True. The Bible says in Thessalonians to give thanks in all circumstances. So, like that Pharisee who openly thanked the Lord for being better than the poor man, I give thanks that I am slightly better than the Zimbabwean who has been under a one-man show since 1980.” The Zimbabweans says: “True. But I thank God because I am more likely to pass an exam asking me to list all the post-independence leaders of my country than a Nigerian who must run through a long and confusing list of Presidents and military Heads of State - ceremonial president, acting and voluntary transfer of power president, interim president, doctrine of necessity president, failed third term president, etc.” The Nigerian says: “True I have bequeathed to the continent a long and colourful list of presidential classifications, sub-classifications, and nomenclatures, I thank God that I am slightly better than the Togolese and the Gabonese who are dealing with baby life presidencies after the adult life presidencies of some daddies expired.” The Togolese and the Gabonese say: “True. But we thank God that our baby life Presidents are not half illiterate, xenophobic polygamists.” The South African says: “True. But I thank God that my own half illiterate xenophobic polygamist does not claim to cure HIV/AIDS with a concoction of seven herbs and seven spices. He only recommends a vigorous shower after banging without condoms.” The Gambian says: “True I am ruled by a man who says his seven spices and seven herbs are the nemeses of HIV/AIDS, I thank God that my President is not a customer of the International Criminal Court.” The Kenyan and the Sudanese say: “True. But we thank God that our Presidents know how to resist the imperialism, racism, neocolonialism and other isms that the West calls the ICC unlike some places that are still controlled openly from...” Francophone Africa says: “What the heck? Are you trying to say that our umbilical cord is still attached to France, the land of our ancestors the Gauls? You bumbling Anglophones! The things you have done to this continent!” Anglophone Africa says: “But we did not say that anybody was colonized to the bone marrow. What's biting you?” Commotion in the house. Anglophone Africa throws punches. Francophone Africa throws counter-punches. The African Union has no resources to settle the ensuing dispute. The international community moves in, settles the fight in Washington. African representatives clink glasses to speeches of Africa Rising delivered by IMF and World Bank officials. Curtain. Two quick gemaine issues from your verbage; 1. APC is not a ruling party, nor the ruling party. APC made it clear after winning the March 2015 elections and before May 29th 2015 that they should be referred to as 'the governing party', and not the 'ruling party' as was the norm with PDP. 2. TonyeBarcanista it's clearly mischievous of you to call APC an opposition party in Sept 2015. Obviously, you live in a fool's paradise. If PDP doesn't thoroughly and genuinely rebirth itself, come March/May 2019 Labour Party/APGA/KOWA will dethrone PDP as the main opposition party, and simply consign your PDP to the rubbish heap of at best a one state party (I hope you remember that CPC was a one state party in 2011?). |
We are simply too lazy to do any research of our own,....and Ali Baba a 'celebrity' who should know more is simply misinforming our gullible youths.... Aregbesola does not own a private jet, neither does the Government of the State of Osun own one. Yes, Aregbesola's govt bought and operates a chopper, in the name of the state government, not in his own name. But even that is a misplaced priority. I do not hold brief for Rauf, I am from Osun state, but I speak truth to authority wherever and whenever. Aregbe began his 2nd term in August/October 2014,....till date he doesn't have commissioners. In a way, that helps the state save a lot on over head for political office holders, and their retinue of aids, not counting luxury official vehicles.... I still refuse to believe that Aregbe hasnt earned a dime in salaries since he began to owe Osun civil servants, until the state ministry of finance makes public official documents to back up that claim it remains mere propaganda to the discerning. Osun is where it is 2day because our leaders didn't priotise wisely. What does Osun state need an airport for? Osogbo(d state capital) is at most 95km to ibadan, 150km to Ilorin, and like 130km to akure. Ibadan, Ilorin and akure all have functional airports which are largely (90%) comatose due to their proximity to MMIA Lagos, thus all 3 airports are not viable commercially. So, what does Osun need an airport for? A state that cannot generate enough in internally generated revenue (IGR) to pay its workforce, a state that won't survive economically for a single month if the monthly largess from Abuja dries up has no business buying a helicopter, under any guise. |
Rose2014:....you live in a fool's paradise. Them no born am well! |
"Recall that APC could only win through marginal advantage of less than 3million". Barcanista I stopped reading this poo you conjured when I got to the statement quoted above. Seriously, the way you reason amazes me greatly, you are some I do love to meet in person. You call APC win margin 'marginal advantage'? I weep for you!!! Nay, remind me, how many votes did GEJ (d incumbent president and commander in chief/theif) pull in the 2011 presidential elections, and how many did GMB (of the then CPC, recall that back then in 2011, CPC had only Nasarawa state in their kitty) pull? Incase you have 4gotten TonyeBarcanista, GMB pulled 12million votes in 2011. GMB an opposition candidate, the most vilified candidate for an elective office in the history of elections in Nigeria. With the backing of a tiny political party, the CPC,.....for me, that was like being an independent candidate when you compare the David vs Goliath contest btw the CPC and the federal might of the behemoth PDP. Now fast forward to 2015 presidential election, gej despite his stupendous wasteful spending of our common wealth to prosecute an ill-fated reelection ambition, pulled a meagre 12million votes (the same 12million votes that GMB pulled effortlessly in 2011, flying the flag of a Nasarawa state-only- backed CPC). Barcanista, the 3million votes margin pales into insignificance when you put it in proper perspective; gej after 4yrs as president and commander in chief/thief could not garner more votes than a stand-alone Buhari gathered in 2011. This is the irony of the narration. Never have I seen an incumbent shamed in a election as portrayed by the irony of 12million votes in 2011, and 12million votes in 2015! |

Caseless:....that hammer has landed on Dino's head already. You think it's ordinary that his election tribunal case is gathering momentum by the day? I see the hand of Tinubu and his goons behind Dino's ordeal. Don't not be surprised that Smart Adeyemi wud floor Dino at d tribunal, and then cross carpet from PDP to APC,....that is what I presume the deal is. |
youngice:Are you a learner ni? I think it depends on the stability of your ride at top speeds, the condition of the road (pot holes, bends, etc), and lastly, it also depends on courage/threshold for risk. |

Sailormen,.... I just noticed from yor profile that you registered this moniker yesterday, and you created this thread same day. Although am a Buharist,.....and I have always been one. But am disappointed that Oyinlola, Kwankwaso, Bolaji Abdullahi, Gen. Danbauzi etc are on this list. These are Nigerians with an ignoble past....... Abeg tell me, what has Oyinlola got to offer this country after almost 8yrs as governor of Osun where he did nothing laudable? It took Buhari almost 100 days to declare his assets (his liabilities nko? Plus when are we gonna see copies of the CCB forms he filled?). That shook my faith in GMB. And then these DSS-screened ministerial nominees? IF BUHARI IS UNABLE TO SET THIS COUNTRY ON THE PATH OF GREATNESS AGAIN INSIDE THESE 4YRS,.....THEN IT INVARIABLY MEANS ALL HOPE IS LOST FOR NIGERIA. NIGERIA WILL SIMPLY BECOME IRREDEEMABLE |
mrvitalis:Yea, our educational system is toast. But the main reason tonye barcanista has a semblance of following on NL is simply because 85% of Nairalanders are kids, teenagers,....people still been spoon fed by mum and dad. Barcanista should take his trashy commentaries to Twitter, premiumtimesng.com, nigerianvillagesquare.com Facebook or saharareporters.com and let's see if he is going to be read on those platforms at all, talkless been followed. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Barcanista is simply 'king' of Nairaland's kids. |
