One of Africa's popular smartphone brand TECNO Mobile yesterday donated Medical suppliers worth millions of Naira to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in support of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The material donation was handed over to the Lagos office of the NCDC yesterday by officials of TECNO Foundation included over 100,000 medical masks, 10,000 medical gloves, 1,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and 5,000 googles amongst others.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr Attai Oguche a member of TECNO foundation reiterated the importance of adequately equipping medical personnel who are at the forefront of the battle against the deadly virus.

While receiving the donation on behalf of the Director General of NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, Mrs. Olajumoke Babatunde, Head, Lagos NCDC expressed gratitude and acknowledges the kind gesture by TECNO Foundation in showing care for the health care workers who are at the fore front of the fight.

She added that the PPEs donated will be used judiciously because NCDC is supporting 36+1 states. Some of these items will be taken to the other states of the federation to support the response activities.

Also speaking at the donation, Dr. Everistus Aniaku, Director & Team Lead Emergency Operations Centre Establishment, NCDC, stated that “TECNO Foundation’s goodwill will go a long way in helping us to respond to COVID-19 pandemic in Lagos state and Nigeria because we are here to support Lagosians and protect the life of Nigerians. We sincerely appreciate”.

According to Mr Oguche, “health care workers are the most exposed to the virus because they deal directly with the cases. For Nigeria to win the fight against coronavirus, medical personnel should get all the support needed in terms of equipment and motivation.”

“There is a need for material intervention at this time as we collectively battle COVID-19. Obviously, health care workers need more protective equipment to fight the virus and care for the cases. That is why TECNO Foundation is donating today” he said.

Mr Oguche further thanked the government of Nigeria, the NCDC and all medical personnel involved in the fight against the pandemic for the progress recorded so far and promised the continuous support of TECNO Foundation.

For Nairalanders than try to enlighten others, you guys are the real MVP
Next time op would avoid Tecno/infinix and itel

It could be an error from his part but you're quick to condemn the brand.

henrylowe:
Hey guys! I don't know what's wrong with my new device

Each time I'm browsing and I decide to minimize and then return back a few seconds after, the page reloads again. Yeah I know it's normal for a browser page to reload but not less than 20 seconds than you minimized it and return back there

I noticed other apps on my phone do not do that nonsense even if I keep them open for hours, only browsers do that in a few seconds- Chrome, Brave and PHX. I even downloaded UC Mini Browser and it seemed to be different for a few hours until it joined the refresh gang

What manner of annoying web page refresh is this?

Note: Infinix S5 Pro is 6GB and it's super fast. I have only downloaded a few apps in it

What could be the problem guys?

Update your browser or try a different browser.

Hundjager:
I think the majority are choosing redmi cause of the price, and if permitted I will say the price would ve been way different if the redmi 7 series was to be launched in these pandemic times.

Mind you the toll the effect of coronavirus has on the shipment of smartphones and gadgets was huge, hence the price difference, I would say infinix did a good job with the note 7.

Though there is still room for improvement.

Looking at it from the Chipset
It's a good step. Even though they are other areas Infinix can still improve on..

You should have compared the specs and the price.

Melaninprincess:
In case you need to learn how to share with Airtel, then use *423#

Have heard a lot about the Airtel Me 2U. Can't wait to try it.

Airtel Me2U is the most underrated package have even seen. Heard they are even working on sharing airtime to other networks.

Why should I recharge from back when I can easily do the same thing just using the Airtel Xpress recharge.

frankjude2020:
Is it available for pre-order?

It will be in store soon.

Long-term review will show if 95k was wisely spent or flushed down the toilet.

But we already know the answer to this question long before any long-term review surfaces.

I believe that price is because of the exchange rate.

A good one for the brand even though they still have to improve in some aspect. But that's a good step.

I can't find the app on playstore... How do I get the app?

Chubbyface:
I've tried these steps before and it worked. Good to see a thread like this here

Good that you tried it out

The lockdown has been a great opportunity for me to learn new things and also bond with my family.

Hello Nairalanders there's a very important feature on your Android 9.0 and Android 10 devices. I realised that only few Android 9 and Above users make use of the feature hence the need to write on it.

So Instead of only being able to rest your device to factory settings, this new feature in Android 9.0 and above offers you the ability to reset different options on your phone.

So if any aspect of your Smartphone is misbehaving you no longer have to use the factory reset. I will explain briefly on how these options work.

The options available are:

1. Reset WiFi , Mobile and Bluetooth : This option is useful if you're having problem with your mobile network, Wifi and Bluetooth connections.

2. Reset apps preference : You can make use of this option when you're having issues apps permission, apps notifications and default application actions. Basic all applications related problems. You won't lose any app data using this option.

3. Reset all system settings: What this option does is to reset all system settings on your Smartphone including time, language , display and sounds.

4. Factory Data Reset : This option erase all the data on your Smartphone and restore it to factory settings.

How To Access The Options On Your Smartphones.

Launch your settings App
Scroll down and choose System
Tap on Reset options

Use any of this option with caution.

In case anyone thinks I am just enjoying myself. Yeah that is absolutely true, and also exposing tecno is what any well meaning Nigerian should do.
Are you wondering how much of a liar tecno is? Do me the honor of allowing me expose this tech-no-logic entities from abandoned side of China tthrough honor from Huawei... How ironic is that? Tecno has no respect or honor. Check the Huawei honor play 9A specs that uses the same chipset as the tecno camon 15 pro.
Now pay attention to the camera configuration dearly beloved.

Honor play 9A
13 MP + 2 MP Dual Primary Cameras
LED Flash
8 MP Front Camera.

This is the acceptable camera configuration the mtk p35 chipset can support. So who is tecno and its deceitful cohorts trying so hard to enslave with their inferior manipulations and dubious claims of 48mp and 64mp quad camera?
Definitely not Nigerians. See picture below for confirmation, image is from gsmarena.

Newly Developed Background Bokeh Effect
Background Bokeh Effect has been fully upgraded, making the portraits have better focus in the whole picture, and details are carefully processed.

A newly added multi-dimensional portrait mixed scene is available, fully covers both simple and mixed scenes at the same time. The detectable rate has reached 90%. Once the scene is recognized, it would offer corresponding AI optimization, letting you take more realistic and detailed photos.
