FamilyRe: Mikel Obi Speaks On Family Financial Pressure Faced By Successful Africans by Entanglement: 5:47pm On Jul 14
[quote author=EmmyMaestro post=140022611]Mikel Obi speaks on family financial pressure faced by successful Africans

Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has spoken about the financial responsibilities many successful Africans carry toward their extended families.

According to Mikel, in many African societies, financial success often comes with expectations that go far beyond supporting one’s immediate household.

He said that when a person becomes wealthy, siblings, extended relatives, and even in-laws may come to depend on them financially.

Using Victor Osimhen as an example, Mikel suggested that the striker experiences similar pressures.

He added that when successful individuals are no longer able or willing to provide financial assistance, they are often perceived negatively by those who had relied on them.

Mikel said in part …

“In Africa, when you make money, it’s not just yours it belongs to the whole family depending on you. Your siblings, their in-laws, everyone depends on you. Victor Osimhen faces the same thing. The moment you stop helping, you become the bad guy”

RomanceRe: Why Do Good/church Girls Find It Difficult To Get Married? by Entanglement: 11:13am On Jun 24
Host78:
You'll think that a good/churchy girl, especially the born again ones should have men chasing after them

Or getting married every weekend. But that's not always the case.

I used to have a good / very churchy cousin sister like that who was unmarried till around 35 years of age.

She's good but finding a husband was extremely difficult.

The one thing I noticed from good ladies is their rude behavior.

Hear me out first. A girl can be good in that she doesn't sleep around and try to be closer to God.

But these sets of ladies tends to be rude to men who comes around.

I don't know how they think relationships happen, whether they think a man will just come around, propose to them and get married.

Or whether God will just speak out of heaven and say, you and this man are destined husband and wife, so get married next week.

But somehow, these ladies fail to understand that relationship is built, it first start with a show of interest, a flirt or a simple lust.

Those things they feel is a "sin" are what starts relationship.

And so, when a man approaches a churchy lady, her immediate response is always the rude one.

She want to display her "goodness" or make it known she's "pure" and not worldly.

And this most times turn most men away from them.

It's one thing to be good but it's another thing to constantly want to prove it to people.

Trust me, a man knows a good lady when he sees one. Most men knows how to treat a good woman, you constantly saying "I'm not one of those cheap girls" and so on doesn't make any difference, it only pushes the man away.

You might be saying "the genuine man" or "intentional man" will continue to pursue or apply pressure, my dear they will not.

And this is why most of you miss good men and then later in a hurry settle for men you may not like.

I've seen too many girls dodging potential and even men of substance and later settled for people way less than them.

Take my cousin for instance, the one man who was once genuinely interested in her, came with a big car.

He was big but she was young, beautiful and all "in the lord". She once said to people "he thinks I'll like him because of his cars"

When she started midnight prayers for marriage with fasting aggressively eh. It was not funny o.

Every prayer at midnight was filled with husband requests, how did I know this? Because she prayed loudly and everyone in the compound can hear it.

Who did she later settled for? A teacher! Way older than her.

Imagine a man probably at 45 years, with almost nothing going on for him.

See I'm not here to castigate anyone or to put anyone down or to pressure anyone.

As a lady, understand that relationship is not magical. It's not 'godly'.

I have another girl from my school. Then she was the girl every medical student wanted.

Being a good girl pays. Being a foōlish good girl trying to constantly prove a point will lead you no where.

This is also why brothers in deeper life often find it difficult to marry within the church.

I remember in one of the service the older pastor keep speaking on why brothers often go outside to marry while the sisters are 'good' and beautiful.

It's simply because these girls have become 'un-talk-to-able'.
most of this church girl you see are pastor's play toy

SportsRe: Morocco Will No Longer Submit Bids To Host African Competitions - Fouzi Lekjaa by Entanglement: 12:29pm On Jun 14
DJperdurabo:
Lekjaa: Morocco Will No Longer Submit Bids to Host African Competitions
Fouzi Lekjaa

Rabat – The President of Morocco’s Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, said in an interview that Morocco will no longer submit bids to host African competitions.

“Starting today, Morocco will no longer submit any bids to host African competitions, regardless of their nature. If other countries wish to organize them, we wish them the best,” Lekjaa said in his new interview with Al Jazeera 360.

Lekjaa denied privileges or advantages, stating that what they describe as advantages consists of hosting competitions that no other country wants to organize.
The FRMF President also addressed various topics, including the controversial AFCON final against Senegal.

Morocco endured shocking events and a hate campaign during and following the AFCON final against Senegal on January 18. The event unfolded following Senegal’s walk-off, which changed the course of the tournament. The walk-off, triggered by Pape Thiaw, sparked vandalism, with Senegalese fans attempting to storm the pitch and hooliganism.

Now, six months since the most successful tournament in CAF history, Morocco has decided it is no longer interested in hosting a tournament for the continent.

Addressing the AFCON controversies, Lekjaa also answered questions regarding Senegal’s criticism over security during the tournament.

Lekjaa said Senegal never complained about anything before the AFCON final.
“On the contrary, their federation president even said the stadium was world-class, and everything was perfect,” Lekjaa said.

Lekjaa said the Senegalese federation issued a communiqué in which they announced their team would arrive in Rabat at a certain time, which triggered fans to come to cheer for them.
This led to fans surrounding the team, with the Senegalese federation claiming there was a lack of security to protect their team.

Morocco, however, has launched a strong campaign strengthening security protection around all stadiums and host cities to ensure protection for both teams and fans.
Lekjaa said Morocco’s security does not need praise, as the country already has a strong reputation among international partners who recognize the country’s strengths.

He also paid tribute to Moroccan fans who showed wisdom, especially during the final against Senegal.

He recalled Senegal’s complaints against their hotel, which was assigned to them by CAF.
“We changed it for them. The third issue was that they refused to train with the Moroccan national team,” he added.

What influence?

Lekjaa firmly denied claims that suggest Morocco exerts “disproportionate influence” within the Confederation of African Football (CAF). He emphasized that Morocco has no single employee within the federation and no effective representation in its committees.

“What influence are you talking about?” he continued, saying that his role as head of CAF’s finance committee was given to him due to his professional background in the sector.

RomanceRe: The Line Between Lack Of Interest And Poor Communication Skill by Entanglement: 7:00pm On Jun 10
Rapmoney:
Oftentimes, some men find it difficult to draw a clear line between lack of interest and poor communication in a woman. There are scenarios that should clearly show you that someone does not have any interest in you, and not that they possess poor communication skills.

Look at these:

SCENE 1

Me: Hello, how are you doing today?
Lady: Oh, I am doing great, and you?
Me: I am fine. I would have called you
last night, but I felt it was already
late.
Lady: I see. Anyway, I went to bed late
so I would have picked the call if
you had done that.
Me: It appears you sleep late. Why?
Lady: I am taking professional online
courses, and I usually take
classes before going to bed.
Me: What is your schedule like this
Saturday? Maybe we can hang out
at Grillz Gardens and talk.
Lady: That will be nice. I will check my
schedule and let you know by
tomorrow

SCENE 2

Me: Hello, how are you doing today?
Lady: Fine
Me: I would have called you last night,
but I felt it was already late.
Lady: K
Me: What is your schedule like this
Saturday? Maybe we can hang out
at Grillz Gardens and talk.
Lady: Busy
Me: Can we find another time for that?
Lady: Dunno

Now, Scene 1 shows a lady who might not be necessarily skilled in conversation, but has some level of interest in me. Scene 2 shows a lady who might not necessarily lack communication skills, but has little or no interest in me.

These things cannot be forced. The signs are already there in the chats. You do not need a babalawo or prophet to tell you that the lady in Scene 2 does not have interest in you.

Sometimes, some men waste their time trying to make her communicate better by sending more and more messages, or calling her phone countless times. My brother, life is already hard for you, so why punish yourself further?

That lady you think lack communication skills is actually bombarding the DM of another man. She replies his chats with both compound and complex sentences that carry all the punctuation marks you can think of. Na your turn she for dey do that one-word response. That na because SHE IS NOT INTERESTED. Read the handwriting! Someone who has interest in you cannot be too tired, lazy, or busy to reply your chats in a mutual way.

Another one is sending WhatsApp messages to a lady you are trying to befriend, she reads your messages and does not respond. Then you begin to see her WhatsApp status updates, with memes, trivial stuffs, and birthday photos of friends. And my brother still dey shook head inside?

What You Should Do In Such Cases:

Go to your phone contacts. Check for her name, highlight it, and tap 'DELETE'. That solves it all. If she contacts you after some time, don't respond. It is not interest or attraction. It is a Plan B technique for survival

Goldrosewine:
This does not imply sexual interests, abeg o just bored today on this holiday and I have decided to rant here, since I saw a similar post recently about a guy saying confidence is what a lady cannot resist in a man. I won't appreciate any unsolicited messages🙏

Dentition: Gap teeth (you know what I mean, especially a small one right between the central incisors) or just between the lateral incisor and canine)

Thick wrist (not fats deposit, just wrists with a wide circumference)

Minimal or no bodily hairs. Yeah a lot will hate me for this, just my opinion which may change or not. But those beards, chest or armpit hairs? Taah!

Height. However you must not be too tall. I am 5:9 so anything from 5:6 to 5:11 is perfect.

Modesty and awesomeness (not extreme masculinity) I am not a feminist abeg. I like guys that are gentle, pull the chair for you at the restaurant, hold an umbrella for you, hold the door open for you, just being a gentleman. Absolute modesty and simple too. Not a show off dude haha!

Healthy lifestyle. There is nothing I dislike more than a guy who smokes or drinks or do both. I don't just dislike them, I h-word them. Take your good health seriously guys, go for rehab if you need to.

Small inner circle. Guys with few or no friends. The introvert who enjoys his own company.

Respectful. The guy that still prostrate to greet his dad at 30 years, still run errands for his mom at 35 (not necessarily because he is living with them, but maybe sometimes when he visits or when they give him an emergency call) that level of respect is the norm for every omoluabi.

Not bald. As much as I dislike body hairs, e no reach head abeg🤣

Belly fat. (Not pot belly) I love belly fat in a man, especially the type that gives him the wealthy boy vibe when he's in a native. I don't know but in Benin republic, I once saw this muscular, six pack guy that bullied people and he had an altercation with this gentle guy who looks ordinary, he even had a fatty belly. Against what people thought, it was the muscular guy that needed saving o, see blue black beating. Lol. It kind of left an impression on me.

Speech intelligence. Even if you no know book, just have good oratory skills and be eloquent. I would like to see my man on a podium speaking with great eloquence while I sit in the crowd or assembly just admiring him and looking at how other ladies are admiring him😊🥰🥰🥰 aiish

Phobia. Scared of snakes or rats or spiders or cocroaches lol even my cousin would tell me I will never find this trait in a Nigerian man. But I am not scared of those things. So I would really like a guy that has such fears, that way I would be able to do something for him and it would make me feel good🤦🙈 it's hard to explain honestly.🥲🥲

Ambitious. he dreams big, not jealous of success, just envying it and ambitious to reach the top too.

Laughs a lot. That would be golden!

He cries. Like, weep Take this from me. If you ever express your sadness in tears while in your girl's arm, it does something to her heart... she'd start clutching to you so hard. Don't be manly all the time. Sometimes, just let the feelings flow. Life is already hard for everyone, talkless a man.🥺 I feel u guys.

Straight legs No vex but I dislike wobbly legs... and many guys have come to have a sort of disfigured legs due to bad walking posture, trying to copy one silly trend or so, etc.

Gentle with kids and pets That would be another golden trait!

Extremely decent with words and actions when in public The way he eats, talks, interact, just everything. Especially in Nigeria where people judge you by your countenance and how you 'carry' yourself.

You know the sort of guys that gleefully talk about women's body parts in public? That's so uncouth and all ladies detest such.

Gold🌹🍷

Good evening, pls I need help on something
I don't even know how to put it well, but I will try my best to explain a little..and I seek sincere advice from matured and experienced ppl on the forum.

I am a type that when I love ppl, I love them wholeheartedly..to the extent that I will give in all my best to them.. be it family members or non. When I tell you I gat your back, then I truly mean it. But the problem now is, when these ppl hurt me. I don't know how to handle it, I don't even know if I will call it unforgiving spirit or maybe cause I remember things alot, I will surely not forget.

It's not as if I won't forgive them o, I will but, to make that relationship between me and that person smooth back.. it's not possible.. the distance will always be there.. tho before I get angry or pick offence it takes long, but once it happens like this! I know I have lost relationship with that soul.

Some of my relatives (extended fam) offended me, and since about 3 yrs now, these ppl have been sending different ppl just to beg me and talk to me etc.. in order to make things back, but it's just not working!. Cuz I know myself.

And I am a type that, once I vex, I don't look back..even if the person has done a lot of things etc.. I have tried my best but it's just not working. And I understand the fact that there is no how there won't be argument among humans, it's not possible.

My greatest fear now is, what if I marry, is this how It will be towards my husband, someone I claim I love? Pls how do I tackle this problem before I reach that stage, pls I need sincere word of wisdom from elders, else why I come to a faceless forum to pour out my mind.

ExAngel007:
Young pharmacist shot dead days after opening her pharmacy in South Africa

A young pharmacist, Nomzila Madinane, has been shot and k!lled in a brazen attack in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

The deadly shooting which occurred at her pharmacy in Inchanga on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, also claimed the lives of a cashier and a security guard.

It was gathered that Madinane had opened the new pharmacy a few days ago to improve access to healthcare in KwaNyuswa, near Hillcrest.

KwaZulu-Natal police confirmed that three m8rder cases have been opened following the d3adly shooting.

According to reports, pharmacist Nomzila Madinane had recently opened the pharmacy after identifying a need for easier access to medication in the community, where many residents were allegedly forced to travel long distances for healthcare services.

The attack has left residents shocked and devastated, with many describing Madinane as a young entrepreneur committed to serving her community.

Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said the victims were ambushed by unknown gunmen while at the pharmacy.

“Inchanga police opened three cases of m8rder following an incident in which two females and a security guard were shot by unknown people,” said Netshiunda.

“The victims were fatally shot while the security guard sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”

“Reports indicate that three armed men stormed the pharmacy and opened fire, k!lling Madinane and her cashier at the scene.”

The security guard was reportedly shot while attempting to intervene.

Earlier reports suggested he had been fighting for his life in hospital before police later confirmed his d3ath.

The motive for the attack remains unclear, with investigators expected to determine whether the shooting was linked to robbery or another motive.

I believe you have seen the video of the couple in the attached pic tearing a purported marriage certificate.

For a fact, what they're tearing in that video is not a government-issued marriage certificate. An original marriage is rectangular with black or green ink and the seal of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on top. The one they are tearing was probably gotten from their village.

Two, anything carrying the seal and coat of arms of the Federal Republic of Nigeria doesn't belong to you, you are only the custodian of it. Example, Passport, Currency, Govt-issued certs, I.D cards, etc. So you can't destroy them. Destroying them is playing with fines or jail.

I repeat, any thing with coat of arms on it from the govt belong exclusively to the Federal Govt.

Methinks me, learned this was done to signify they will never divorce. Ignorance of the best version.

Marriage transcends that paper and it is done at home with two people who are ready and willing to work for its success. Tearing a piece of paper will not prevent shi if you don't put effort into it working.

Lasty, apart from the use of marriage certificate to prove marriage, what are the other uses of the certificate?
tohtoh dikeh once luck there marriage with padlock and throw the key in river.
