OMEGA009: The Nigerian authorities did not “fly” the Libyans anywhere. When you charter a flight, you dictate the destination and route. The Libyans chose PHC airport instead of Uyo airport for reasons best known to them just as the Nigerians chose Benghazi airport but in our own case, our chartered plane was DIVERTED to another smaller airport.
Even with their error in airports, a plane was offered to take them to Uyo but they refused to pay for it (again, for reasons best known to them) and a Marcopolo bus was procured for them. In the Nigerian teams case, some “danfo” buses were gotten for a 200-300km journey which will affect the knees of tall players like Troost Ekong.
So it’s evident that their “payback” was not valid as the error was theirs in the first place
you forgot to mention food and security and hotel if they can't reach uyo was provided to them base on their own errors or rather stupidity them make!
NOETHNICITY: Can someone please explain why Nigeria flew the Libyan team to PH instead of Akwa Ibom? Because this entire situation seem to me like payback by the Libyans
you sure say you get sense so? This one was entirely the fault of Libyan team and the pilot because them themselves mistook the coordinates and landed in another state and even as that. We still feed them, provided them with transport and security base on their own mistakes and pilot stupidity.
Technical team was waiting for you on the designated state but you landed on the wrong state! What did you expect?

Omoawoke: Easy to say, when you face the psychological pressure of being the oldest person, calling kids of 16, colleagues and you can’t relate to their conversations.
I am not saying it’s not possible, it is, but I’m letting him see the reality of what he’s going for … no sugar coating
Africa mentality! Na you dey carry age as prestige for head! You need to go to abroad university and see the level of age people!
But are you okay being the grandfather of the class? Some of the kids in school will probably have parents your age mate
better to be grandfather of the class in another country than to stay here and be watching how your ancestor President is behind fvcking this county left right centre
Berankis: I want to believe this, because his narrative of his experiences sounds biased and petty. I just felt something wasn't right. The Owner of a business always reserves the right to hire and fire. He/She is only implored to do it in a humane way and for viable reasons. So, you don't start telling us the office closed after you were sacked and all what not. If he wants us to verify and believe, he should drop the name of the NGO.
definitely! Just reading his story you would have noticed plenty loopholes!
Many of this kind of people are plenty on twitter with made up story and telling you to pay some amount of money to be this and that!
tiredoflife: There was no inhumane way The military has its procedures He was totally out of line And wont have been dismissed if not for the social media outcry It would have been demotion of rank and possible guard room time But the wife made it worse Now he is dismissed He will not find it easy outside the military
you sure say you no mumu so? He was Detained for 6yrs!
jbrownies: Your kidneys are vital to your overall health, filtering waste and excess fluids from your body. However, certain every day habits can harm these essential organs. Your kidneys might not have a voice, but if they did, they'd beg you to stop doing the following harmful activities.
Habits to Avoid for Kidney Health
1. Consuming Too Much Salt A high-sodium diet can cause your kidneys to work overtime, leading to high blood pressure and eventually kidney damage. Many processed foods, snacks, and even some restaurant dishes are loaded with salt, so monitoring your sodium intake is important.
2. Not Drinking Enough Water Dehydration is one of the main reasons kidney stones develop. Water helps flush out toxins and prevents the formation of Kidney stones.
3. Excessive Use of Painkillers Frequent use of over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen, aspirin, or naproxen can damage your kidneys, especially if used in high doses over a long period. These medications reduce blood flow to the kidneys, causing stress and eventually leading to kidney problems. If you're experiencing pain, it’s best to consult a doctor to find safer alternatives.
4. Eating Too Much Protein While protein is essential for your body, consuming excessive amounts, especially from red meat, can strain your kidneys. Breaking down protein produces waste that your kidneys must filter out, and too much of it can lead to kidney overload.
5. Smoking and Excessive Alcohol Consumption Both smoking and heavy alcohol use can harm your kidneys by reducing blood flow and raising your risk of high blood pressure and diabetes—two leading causes of kidney disease. Reducing or eliminating these habits can significantly lower your risk of kidney damage.
6. Ignoring Symptoms of Kidney Problems Pain in your lower back, changes in urination, and unexplained fatigue can all signal kidney issues. Ignoring these symptoms can allow conditions to worsen, so it’s important to see a doctor if anything feels off.
How to Maintain Healthy Kidneys?
Taking care of your kidneys is crucial for your overall well-being. Here are some ways to keep them in top shape:
1. Stay Hydrated Drinking enough water is essential for kidney health. Water helps flush out toxins and prevents the formation of kidney stones. Aim for about 8-10 glasses of water per day, but adjust based on your individual needs, activity level, and climate.
2. Maintain a Balanced Diet Your diet plays a significant role in kidney health. Eating a balanced diet that's low in sodium, rich in fruits and vegetables, and moderate in protein helps lighten the load on your kidneys. Also, try to limit your intake of processed foods.
3. Control Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Levels High blood pressure and diabetes are leading causes of kidney damage. Keeping these conditions in check with the right diet, exercise, and medication can significantly reduce your risk of kidney disease.
4. Exercise Regularly Regular physical activity helps maintain a healthy weight, lower blood pressure, and improve overall cardiovascular health—all of which support proper kidney function. Even moderate exercise, like walking or cycling, can make a big difference.
5. Avoid Excessive Use of Painkillers Use medications only when necessary, and always follow the dosage instructions. If you experience chronic pain, consult your doctor about alternatives that are less harmful to your kidneys.
6. Monitor Your Health Regularly Regular check-ups can help catch kidney issues early, especially if you have a family history of kidney disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Regular blood tests and urine analysis can help assess your kidney function and overall health.
Foods to Eat for Healthy Kidneys.
What you eat can either help or harm your kidneys. Here are some kidney-friendly foods to include in your diet:
1. Leafy Greens Spinach, kale, and other leafy greens are packed with vitamins and minerals that support kidney health. They are low in potassium and high in antioxidants, making them excellent for your kidneys.
2. Berries Blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are rich in antioxidants that can help protect your kidneys from oxidative stress. They also contain fiber, which supports healthy digestion and reduces the workload on your kidneys.
3. Garlic Garlic is a natural anti-inflammatory food that helps reduce inflammation in the kidneys. It also helps lower cholesterol and protect against kidney disease.
4. Cauliflower This vegetable is high in fiber and a great source of vitamin C, which can boost your kidney function. It also contains compounds that help your body neutralize toxins.
5. Apples Apples are high in fiber and contain anti-inflammatory properties that can benefit your kidneys. They also help regulate blood sugar levels, which is important for preventing diabetes-related kidney damage.
6. Fish Rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids Salmon, mackerel, and sardines are high in omega-3s, which help reduce inflammation in the kidneys and lower blood pressure. Omega-3s are essential for maintaining kidney health and preventing chronic kidney disease.
7. Cranberries Cranberries are known to prevent urinary tract infections, which can help keep your kidneys healthy. They help prevent bacteria from sticking to the urinary tract lining, reducing the risk of infections that could harm your kidneys.
Conclusion Your kidneys are working hard every day to keep your body balanced and free of toxins. By making small lifestyle changes—like reducing salt, staying hydrated, and eating kidney-friendly foods—you can ensure they stay healthy for years to come. Listen to the silent signals your kidneys might be sending and make the necessary changes now before it’s too late. Your kidneys will thank you!
