First of all, let me say I do not support mob attacks on anyone - soldier or civilian.

So...if a soldier commits a crime in full public view and he attempts to escape but civilians restrain him - have those people done something wrong?

If a soldier commits a crime in public view you record it and send to the appropriate authorities.

But in this case, I watched the full video and the soldiers did not commit any crime. They escorted a man there probably to make a complaint and the tugs started attacking both soldiers and the elderly man. They both had to run, they even went as far as stepping on the man's head on the ground with a timberland boot.
So they fully deserve whatever repercussions they get.
