She did the right thing by walking away. It's obvious this guy will make a subpar husband because even from the beginning he's refusing to do the traditional engagement practice of getting on one knee even after his friends encourage him. A proposal of this type is the man ASKING for the woman's hand in marriage. A moment of submission from the man in order to gain a lifetime of submission from the woman. Unfortunately, he's setting the pace for what's to come and she couldn't expect much from him as a husband.
