Business / Top 10 Digital Marketing Agencies In Nigeria by Enyinweofia: 2:59pm On May 16, 2018
As Nigeria joins the rest of the world in going digital, a lot of organizations have changed their strategy to put technology at the center of their plans. Many of these organizations need professionals to manage these efforts, and to serve those needs, Digital Marketing agencies were born.

In simple terms, Digital Marketing is marketing via digital channels. As opposed to traditional marketing, Digital Marketing is targeted, data and technology driven.

There are many Digital Marketing Agencies in Nigeria, but here, we have curated the top 10 whose core business is Digital Marketing.

Ringier Digital Marketing
Everybody knows Pulse. They are one of the most popular media houses in Nigeria with major interests in consumable content. But this isn’t about Pulse. This is about RDM, Pulse’s sister company, and one of the flagship brands in Ringier AG – a 180-year-old Swiss company.

Ringier Digital Marketing (RDM) provides companies across Nigeria and Africa professional solutions to profit from the full value chain of online marketing. From development and design of online presence, to the support, planning and handling of social and other digital marketing channels, RDM is helping customers reach their audiences online. Some of their clients include Jack Daniels, Nike, Zenith Bank, etc. Their office is in Lekki, Lagos, and their website is www.rdm.ng

DM2 Group
“We know money can’t buy love (except in UNILAG) but a great campaign can buy you loads of affection.”

This is one of the first messages you see when you visit the DM2Group website. Scroll further and you will see some of the groundbreaking campaigns in the history of Digital Advertising in Nigeria.

Founded in 2008, DM2 Group was initially a Traditional Agency – with major interests in Outdoor Advertising. They soon went full circle and basically pioneered some of the types of ads that made Digital Marketing in Nigeria this big today. They were the first to create Facebook Apps for a Nigerian brand (Sprite Triple Slam), and also the first to livestream a brand event online. In 2012, the founder and CEO – Uyi Omokaro won the very first Future Awards prize for Media/Communications in recognition of his efforts in the Advertising industry. The organization has remained a force to reckon with and they have served renowned brands like Coca Cola, Mcvities, Haansbro, Tetra-Pak, Mouka Foam, Interswitch, etc. They also built the video ad serving platform Indigen, a platform that serves video ads to Punch, Vanguard, NotjustOk, Lindaikeji and numerous online platforms. Some organizations that use it include Globacom, Zenith Bank, Stanbic IBTC, UBA, etc. Their office is in Lekki and their website is www.dm2group.com

Wild Fusion
If this list were ranked in a particular order, Wild Fusion would be the number one Digital Marketing agency in Nigeria. Legend has it that Abasiama Idaresit founded the company with just $250 in 2010. They soon became the first Google Certified Adwords partner in Nigeria and Ghana, and have now grown to become a group that houses ROI Digital - a media sales agency, Wild Fusion Digital Center - one of the foremost Digital Marketing Schools in Nigeria, and Wild Fusion itself, the Digital Marketing agency with offices in Lagos, Ghana and Kenya.

Wild Fusion has provided Digital marketing services to top Nigerian and International brands including Unilever, Diamond Bank, Knorr, Visa, Samsung, etc. You can find them on www.wildfusions.com

Terragon Group
Terragon Group has been a big player in the Digital Marketing space for about 9 years now. Its core business capabilities are Mobile Advertising, Business Solutions, Data and Intelligence. With subsidiaries – Terragon Digital and Twinpine, the group may just be the biggest player in the mobile marketing sector.

Founded by Elo Umeh, a product /project development and management specialist with a vast amount of experience in the African mobile telecommunications industry, Terragon has helped brands like Guinness, Close Up, Samsung, Sunlight, etc., reach their audiences via Mobile and Digital channels. They have also bridged the gap between Publishers and Advertisers, giving them a platform to profit while uniting them with consumers. They have offices in 4 countries across Africa, and their website is www.terragongroup.com

Interactive CT
Interactive may have started in 2011, as an offshoot of Centerspread, one of Nigeria’s foremost Advertising Agencies, but they have since grown to become one of the leading Digital Marketing firms in Nigeria. Led by Tola Obi who also doubles as COO of the aforementioned communications house, the Texas-Educated daughter of Kola Ayanwale (founder of Centerspread) has marshaled her matchmakers (members of the Interactive team) to enable the chemistry of fruitful relationships between brands and their audience.

With offices in Anthony Village, they have executed projects for leading brands like Oando, Heinz, KFC, MTN, Heritage Bank, etc. Their website is www.interactivect.net

Anakle
Anakle is a digital advertising agency based in Lagos. Easily the most creative Digital Marketing Company in Nigeria, the Editi Effiong-led organization has perfected the art of not just marketing, but building experiences for online audiences. They have been around since 2010, but gained national and global reckoning when they created the viral Brideprice App in 2014. The app, which calculates the brideprice of women broke the Internet and spun conversations that lasted weeks. It featured on many international media, including CNN, Independent and Cosmopolitan, and it has become a case-study on the inexact science of virality.

Anakle has since executed Digital Marketing and Advertising briefs for multinationals including Access Bank, PZ, UBA, Coca Cola and global Internet giant, Wikipedia. They have their offices in Lekki, and their website is www.anakle.com

TV/Movies / VIDEO: See How Housemates Reacted When Khloe And Anto Returned To Bbnaija House by Enyinweofia: 8:12am On Mar 26, 2018
Week nine of the BBNaija reality TV show came with some unexpected twists and drama (to the housemates at least). Previously evicted/disqualified housemates were given a chance to return to the house and people voted for their favorites. In the end, Khloe and Anto received the most votes, and were returned to the house.

During the live show, Ebuka – after toying with the housemates’ emotions – announced that the returning housemates will sneak into the house by 3am, and this led to a nationwide vigil as people stayed up/set their alarms to see what will go down when the old housemates returned.3am, we all waited with bated breaths, and a few minutes after the hour, while other housemates snored away, Khloe and Anto snuck in, went straight to the Head of House room and slept there.

See the video as they made their way back in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9_tZtyOPYs

Although a lot of us were disappointed – because we thought there was going to be more drama, but it made sense that the housemates were not awoken, and so the vigil continued till about 6 am, when the alarm blared.

See the video when the housemates were made aware of their return.

Foreign Affairs / 8 Reasons Why Donald Trump Fired Rex Tillerson After He Visited Nigeria by Enyinweofia: 5:28pm On Mar 13, 2018
Rex Tillerson, the United States Secretary of States has been fired by Donald Trump, less than 24 hours after he was in Nigeria, with president Muhammadu Buhari. Ordinarily, we won’t really care about this, but the Nigerian connection to this sacking is so juicy that we had to investigate. We have, and these are the reasons we think Trump gave Rex the stick on Twitter.

1. HANDS HANDS HANDSS!
It’s been about the hands all along. You know how they say the size of a man’s hand is directly proportional to the size of his John Thomas, and bedmatic skills? Yeah, that one. And we know the orange man definitely doesn’t have the larger hands. You don’t want to be the guy threatening the ego of the most powerful man on earth. Cue – fire the 2nd (usually) most powerful man in your administration on Twitter to show that even though your hands are small, you are still the boss. Fragile masculinity.

2. Tillerson called Trump a slowpoke
Many Nigerians are probably wondering how Rex wasn’t fired immediately after this. But here’s how it happened. In October 2017, it was reported that Rex Tillerson called Trump a slowpoke after a meeting at the Pentagon. During that meeting, Trump had called for an increase in America’s nuclear weapons stockpiles in contravention of international treaties. When Trump heard what Tillerson said, he challenged Tillerson to an IQ test. One that never happened. But the president was quoted as telling Forbes “I can tell you who is going to win,” during an interview later.

3. The many other clashes
Trump and Tillerson have clashed a couple times. Both men have big egos and this was very expected. Last year, Rex almost quit after Trump publicly berated Attorney General Jeff Sessions over his decision to step away from the Russia investigation. Trump disagreed with Tillerson’s policy approaches on whether the U.S. should mediate in the dispute between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Last summer as tensions rose when Kim Jong Un and Trump traded insults, Tillerson said the U.S. wanted to “resolve this through talks,” rather than the military options the White House said were on the table. Just last week, Tillerson said that an upcoming meeting between Trump and Kim would focus on “talks” rather than “negotiations.” Yet the president appears to expect a deal with Kim on denuclearization. These many clashes made it obvious that Rex was going to get the axe soon.

4. Rex came to a shithole

TV/Movies / Bbnaija Analysis: Which Pair Is Going Home This Weekend? by Enyinweofia: 8:45am On Mar 08, 2018
If you missed the nomination show on Monday, four BBNaija housemate pairs are up for eviction. After Head of House Bam Bam and her partner Rico saved TeNa and replaced them with CeeLo, the pairs up for eviction are Lifu, MiTo, CeeLo and ToLex. As Nigerians/Africans vote, we have analyzed the audience, and this is how we think the housemates will be voted for.

Enjoy, share.

1. MiTo
The pair of Miracle and Anto will get the most votes this week. Miracle has been a favorite from day one and everyday, his fan-base increases. His relationship with Nina too has helped his cause as people think they are the most genuine couple in the house. First time they were put up for eviction, they got the most votes, and now that Nina is safe, her fans will most likely vote for Miracle too.

While Anto may not have the fanbase Miracle has, she’s not empty either. She is chill; a lot of people like her, and will vote for them because of her too. So our prediction is that they will get between 35% and 45% of the total votes.

2. ToLex
The pair of Tobi and Alex will get the second most votes this weekend. Tobi has been the most talked about housemate this season, because he has won the Head of House challenge 3 times, and of course, his tumultuous relationship with Cee C. While it isn’t always positive when his name pops up, his doggedness, competitive spirit and life-of-the-party nature has guaranteed he is a people favorite. His elder brother – Femi Bakre, founder of KraksTV – is also a big player in the New Media Industry, and that could help get him those votes he needs to stay in the house.

Compared to other housemates, Alex doesn’t have a whole lot going for her on the outside. On the inside, she’s not really done much, except cry and satisfy Leo’s orgasmic cravings. But people like her youthful innocence, and blunt honesty. Together, we are predicting they will get about 25% – 35% of the total votes.

TV/Movies / See 13 Real African Tribes And Customs That Are Featured In Black Panther by Enyinweofia: 8:46am On Feb 21, 2018
Having grossed over $400 million in 4 days – against a $200 million budget – the Black Panther movie has already become a resounding success. It has also started breaking records, as its domestic opening weekend of $201.8 million is the biggest debut for a movie by an African American director, and the fifth-highest opening weekend of all time.

The movie is a lot of things to a lot of people, but to many Africans, it is their customs and traditions come to life in the big fictional screen. We have therefore curated some tribes, traditions, customs and cultures that are featured in the fictional world of Wakanda, and the Black Panther movie.

Enjoy, share.

1. Dora Milaje – Benin Republic
The Dora Milaje is partially based on a women army called the Dahomey Ahosi (Amazons). These fierce women were once considered the most feared women in the world, and they fought for the kingdom of Dahomey – present day Republic of Benin.

Legend has it that when the French defeated Dahomey – back when it was cool for European countries to colonize any African country they fancied – they took some of the Dahomey Amazons to their tents as spoils of war. At night, when they were spent, the women would wake up and bite their throats off. The French stopped taking Dahomey women

2. Xhosa – Southern Africa
The language spoken in Wakanda is Xhosa, a language spoken by over 19 million people in Southern Africa.

3. Hausa Language – Nigeria
The #BringBackOurGirls movement is one of the most popular movements to emerge from Nigeria, and incidents leading to it were loosely reincarnated in Black Panther. In a scene typical of Boko-Haram kidnapping young girls, Lupita speaks Hausa Language to girls kidnapped by the terrorists in Sambisa forest, Borno State.

4. Lip Plates – Ethiopia
Also known as a lip plug or lip disc, lip plates are a form of body modification where increasingly large discs are inserted into a pierced hole in either the upper or lower lip, thereby stretching it.

Business / See How Much Paddy Adenuga Spent While Trying To Acquire Chevron by Enyinweofia: 9:19pm On Feb 02, 2018
Paddy Adenuga recently wrote an intriguing story about how he almost bought Chevron’s entire upstream, exploration and production business in the Netherlands. Long, beautifully written and (some will say) inspiring, the tale chronicled all he did in his bid to own the giant so he could use it as a ‘Trojan Horse’ to enter the lucrative African Oil and Gas market.

There have been varying reactions since the story was published. Some people have commended his bravery, while others have attributed his ability to do all he did to his fathers’ massive wealth. Some have said if their father was Mike Adenuga, and worth over 5 billion dollars, they would pursue massive ventures like that, but others have admitted that if their father was that rich, they will probably just relax and enjoy life.

Whatever side you’re on, we have attempted to calculate how much Paddy spent pursuing that dream.

Enjoy, share. And remember that it is all bants.

The story begins in October 2013, but he mentioned he met with his mentor in early spring of 2014. So most of the costing begins from March, 2014 to July 2014, when Catalan’s final bid was rejected.

1. Bringing Vance Querio, the COO of Addax Petroleum on as Adviser and Board Member – Estimated: $100,000 monthly. Total – $400,000

2. Unnamed Mentor (Board Member) – Most likely free, seeing as he is a mentor.

3. Trip to Switzerland to meet mentor: Return ticket – assuming he flies Business class, instead of using private jet, hotel, chauffeur and other expenses – $5,000

4. Lunch with Edgar, the respected banker – $1,000

5. Two trusted friends – Directors. Probably served on an ‘equity’ basis, but logistics and miscellaneous – $100,000

6. Nicolas Lavrov: Logo design, graphics, web design and company profile for Catalan, – $10,000

TV/Movies / Double Wahala: See How The Bbnaija Housemates Have Been Paired by Enyinweofia: 5:37pm On Jan 31, 2018
When we heard that the theme for this year’s BBNaija is Double Wahala, we didn’t quite know how it will play out. But it is clear now. Housemates have been paired in twos, and what this means is that nominations, success, failure, punishments and evictions will be for the pair. The party has officially begun.

This is how it happened.

The guys were handed roses and asked to sit on one side. Then the ladies were blindfolded and asked to pick papers from a bowl. The ladies were then arranged by ascending order of the numbers they picked, and asked to choose a guy. Catch is the guys were free to reject whoever picked them. Or give them a rose of they accept. Rejected ladies were sent to the back of the line.

Ahneeka went first and picked DeeOne. DeeOne rejected her, and that was the highlight of the pairing. DeeOne eventually went with Princess, and Ahneeka went with Rico.

See the pairings.

Politics / The Rebellion Of Aisha Buhari – 8 Possible Reasons She Is Against The President by Enyinweofia: 12:47pm On Jan 20, 2018
Yesterday, President Buhari’s wife and First Lady of Nigeria – Mrs. Aisha Buhari posted tweets on her timeline that basically inferred there was a cabal running the country, not Muhammadu Buhari.

Although this isn’t the first time she is implying that some people (we do not know) are the ones actually making the major decisions in Nigeria, this one is pretty loud. As expected, the reactions have been very diverse. Many have hailed her as patriotic, while others have knocked her for being against her husband. While we await the president’s or presidency’s official reaction, this is why we think the first lady is ‘rebelling’.

1. She is super-patriotic
This is me giving her the benefit of the doubt, before anything else. Maybe she really really loves Nigeria and wants it to be better, regardless of whose ox is gored – including her husband’s and/or the puppeteers. Maybe she places the wellbeing of Nigerians above her love for her husband, and the privileges of Aso Rock. If this is the case, bless her soul.

2. She has been sidelined
Ah well, what do you do when the cabal sidelines you? You scream blue murder. Possibly why she’s openly rebelling, and complaining about their existence and the fact that they’ve taken power away from her the president.

3. She quarreled with Buhari
A woman scorned …. You know the rest. Maybe she and her husband had one of those fights couples have and instead of settling it privately, this is her way of saying, “you hurt my feelings, I will hurt you back”. Somebody will say what kind of hurt will make you undermine your husband like that, but you really cannot determine how people react to hurt. I mean, what if he cheated on her? Etc.

Music/Radio / Science Student: Reasons Olamide Should Be Arrested by Enyinweofia: 7:27pm On Jan 19, 2018
When Shanawole, the 11-year-old vicious cultist was unveiled to the world in his full regalia, deck with fire blazing arm-size Indian hemp few months ago before his eventual rehabilitation by a Pastor of This Present House Church, most Nigerians who watched his confession which was often interrupted by a puff of the hemp in his hand interpreted his predicament to the breakdown of our societal values and decaying parental responsibility.

While this is true, his revelation also points to the drooping sanity across Nigeria today. Our society is in trouble and more than ever, our youth, male and female alike, are the most endangered species. Not only have we lost the war on drug abuse effortlessly, we have further created a yard for eventual neuropsychiatric disorder.

The soaring rate of drug abuse in our society is so shocking, the effects will be borne by generations yet unborn if not nip in the bud immediately.

Already, over three million bottles of codeine syrup are consumed daily in Kano and Jigawa States alone according to the Nigerian Senate. In an interview with This Day newspaper, a former Director General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Otunba Ipinmisho, pegged the percentage of youths involved in drug abuse in Nigeria at 40 per cent. An estimated figure of forty million Nigerian youths!

Business / See The Top 10 Most Outstanding Nigerian Brands On Social Media by Enyinweofia: 12:00pm On Jan 17, 2018
Recall how 2017 began with a recession, very high cost of foreign exchange and unfortunately poor standard of living? That economic downturn affected a lot of organizations in Nigeria, and as a result, the advertising business. Budget for marketing generally reduced, but – in a twist of fate – budget for Digital Advertising increased for many organizations. More brands were looking for creative and cheaper ways to sell themselves, and Digital offered them that opportunity – especially on Social Media.

Now, amidst that flurry of online activities, what brands stood out? We have done the research, carried out surveys, checked the numbers and compiled this list – in no particular order. Enjoy, and share. And if you do not enjoy it because a brand you have interests in did not feature, please let us know, or work harder in 2018.

1. Pepsi
As far as Social Media is concerned, 2017 may have just been Pepsi’s best year yet. No non-alcoholic beverage brand came close to them in the last year, on and off social media, and it was incredible.

2. Access Bank
In the last 4 years, Access Bank has been one of the most active banks online, and they did not relent in 2017. Their outstanding performance on Social Media began with #IGetStamina, a campaign to promote the Lagos City Marathon, an event they were headline sponsors of. The #iGetStamina campaign which had people showing their energy levels in preparation for the 43km marathon had over 100,000 people register for the marathon. It soon evolved to #RunLagos and #AccessLagosCityMarathon, the official hashtag of the event that had over 50,000 participants, including world-class athletes. The various hashtags were trending topics for weeks – before, during, and after the marathon – and photos from the race inspired several memes.

3. Taxify
Uber is worth about $60 billion and is basically slang for on-demand services these days. They were the preferred means to privately commute from 2014 till late 2016, when Taxify came on board. Recalling the fate of ride-hailing platforms like AfroCab, Oga Taxi, Easy Taxi, etc., many people thought Taxify would not last. But more than 15 months later, they are still going strong, spreading their tentacles and giving Uber a run for their money. This is a combination of people’s grievances with Uber, Taxify’s reduction of their commission – which brought more drivers in, making Taxify cabs more readily available, and their aggressive Social Media campaigns. These campaigns led to Uber lowering fares by 40%, – leading to a strike by Uber Drivers, more Uber drivers moving to Taxify, and generally a bad year for the pioneers.

Romance / 13 Advantages And Disadvantages Of Having A Sex Doll by Enyinweofia: 9:37am On Jan 16, 2018
Since time immemorial, human beings have constantly sought ways to better enjoy life. This quest has seen man visualize, conceptualize, create and recreate mundane and incredible things. Technology has immensely helped with the realization of these feats and today we are faced with one that has sparked debates supporting and opposing it. We are talking about the sex doll; real life-sized voluptuous synthetic creations that are here for one major reason: to satisfy the sexual urges of men.

There have been lots of arguments, jokes, banter, ‘fights’, etc., about it on Twitter, since someone shared a photo, and we thought to share the pros and cons of having the dolls that retail at about N800,000.

It’s mostly all fun and games; enjoy and share.

Advantages

1. Readily available
Your sex doll is readily available, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Just make sure batteries are charged and enjoy yourself. If a guy also has a higher sex drive than his partner, the sex doll can help in fulfilling the difference, instead of leaving him starved and unsatisfied

2. Reduces unfaithfulness
We did not say end unfaithfulness, because some people have multiple partners who are ready to give it to them left and right, but still cheat. It reduces unfaithfulness in the sense that if sex is all you want, and your partner is not available, or has a headache, or is on her period or is pregnant, you can just unzip your fly, turn your doll on and satiate yourself. They won’t also cheat on you fam. Life is good

3. Improves performance
If you are having issues with your partner, and you’re too shy or insecure to learn, or she’s not able or willing to make you better, you can greatly improve your skills when you practice with a doll. From the right way to thrust, pace, and breathe the doll gives you the opportunity to find a solution to sexual deficiencies you may have.

Politics / Armed Forces Remembrance Day – 10 Soldiers Who Were Killed By Boko Haram by Enyinweofia: 6:22pm On Jan 15, 2018
Today is Armed Forces Remembrance Day, a day to remember and appreciate members of our military who have paid the ultimate price while serving our nation. Every single soldier who fights – or has fought – for Nigeria is a hero, but here, we spotlight 10 of them (and then some) whose lives blessed us, and whose deaths left the nation mourning.

1. Mohammed Abu Ali
You know how there are different models of cars plying our roads – from Toyota to Honda to Mercedes Benz’s? Lt Col Ali was a Ferrari. That is the simplest way to describe the gallant soldier who led the operations to recover Baga from Boko Haram and was granted accelerated promotion from rank of Major to Lieutenant Colonel – only person in his set to have gotten to that rank. For his courageous feats in the army’s many battles with the terrorist group, he was adored by subordinates, respected by his superiors, and admired by every Nigerian who had heard of his exploits.

2. Chimda Hedima
On the 11th of October 2014, while Wing Commander Chimda Hedima and his partner were attempting to pave way for the ground troops in a part of Borno State infested with Boko Haram, their plane suffered significant damage from the terrorists’ gunfire. It is reported that instead of parachuting to safety, they chose to destroy as many terrorists and their weapons as possible. They parachuted out at the last minute but were unfortunately captured.

3. Obinna Izuala
On the 25th of September, 2014, 23-year-old Obinna Izuala was killed during a shootout with Boko Haram in Konduga. Borno State. It is alleged that no government official was present at his burial and he was not given a military burial with the full honours. He was a native of Ndiagbo in Enugu State.

Politics / Who Really Owns The $50 Million EFCC Discovered In Ikoyi? Top 6 Suspects by Enyinweofia: 7:44pm On Apr 14, 2017
On Wednesday, the EFCC got a tip-off regarding suspicious movement of bags in and out of a four-bedroom apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos. They got a search warrant, went in and discovered $43.4m, £27,800 and N23.2m hidden in safes and false walls.

When questioned, the building’s security guards said that although some persons came in every now and then, nobody lived in the apartment. But a source who demanded anonymity, revealed that a haggard-looking woman usually came on different occasions with Ghana Must Go bags.

Now, the question is, who really owns the money? These are our top 6 suspects:

1. Adamu Muazu

The former governor of Bauchi State (1999 to 2007) and former PDP Chairman was the first person fingered as the owner of the stash. He built the block of flats the money was found in, and in his time as chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, well, we can say that he had access to a lot of money – used amongst other things to run the campaign of the former president Goodluck Jonathan.

But in a series of tweets, Adamu Muazu has denied ownership of the money or the flat it was found in. He admitted that as a developer, the building was one of those he erected, but he added that he had no hand in that stash.

2. Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue

The embattled Managing Director of Retail at the NNPC is one of the possible owners of the huge stash. The recently sacked executive who is currently involved in another scandal has denied owning the money through her lawyer. But if na you dem catch with that kain money, you go gree?

3. Rotimi Amaechi

There’s this thing that happens on Social Media where if someone in the PDP (for example) is accused of doing something, another person in the APC will be accused of doing something similar – or in this case, that same thing. Maybe that is why Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transport has been accused of owning the money. Maybe he indeed owns it as alleged by Governor Fayose’s aide and Femi Fani Kayode.

It is also believable, because if you ask many people from Rivers State, they will tell you that the former Governor – who could possibly access that kind of money during his tenure – spent the last 2 years of his administration stashing cash and bankrolling the APC and Muhammadu Buhari’s presidential aspirations.

Make we dey watch.

4. Mo Abudu
The number one person at Ebony Life TV and Executive Producer of the record breaking The Wedding Party has also been fingered as one of the owners of the money. The rumors claim that Rotimi Amaechi bought the Apartment 7A where the money was found and handed it over to her as a gift. She has denied ever living in the apartment, receiving any apartment from the ex-governor and owning or knowing anything about the money.

Politics / Senate Vs Hameed Ali – 7 Possible Ways The ‘fight’ Will End by Enyinweofia: 2:37pm On Mar 27, 2017
We all know the Senate and Hameed Ali, the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs have been engaged in a d**k measuring contest (excuse my French). If you don’t, you’d probably live under a rock. While Nigerians have been waiting to see who will blink first, we have taken time to look into the crystal ball and tell you how it will eventually end (or so we think).

1. Ali will wear the uniform

Isn’t it that simple and obvious? Wear the damn thing and allow us hear word. He enjoys the perks of office so he should be their mascot, sorry number one promoter by wearing the uniform. It’s easy; it’s simple; and it’s a short cut to peace.

2. Ghana Must Go Will be Shared

It’s an open secret that some people like padding, hiding dollars under their caps and collecting Ghana must go. The only draw back to this move ending the impasse is the current recession. But again, anything can happen. Ghana must go bags will make the issue go up in smoke like a disappearing act.

3. Senate will get tired and let Ali be

The Senate may just decide that of all the pressing problems facing the country, like banning traditional facial marks and reading security reports from the DSS, wearing a uniform by a public official is the least of their worries. They may just decide to let Ali be and face more (or less) serious issues.

4. The Judiciary will break the lock

Learned colleagues will be called to break the standoff. As it is, the case is already in court, but we all know that wisdom and justice from the Nigerian Themis takes two generations to happen. Both parties may not like that (or live that long to see it)

5. Ali may resign

Ali may just wake up one morning, when every move fails and just say; Fvck it! I quit! This may be his joker though, a card he won’t play soon except all his moves fail, and he makes a last ditch effort to turn any victory the Senate may have to ash.

Celebrities / Asa And Gtbank Are 'fighting', And These Are The Possible Reasons by Enyinweofia: 3:05pm On Mar 10, 2017
Social Media has been abuzz with news and stories of President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to Nigeria, after 49 days in the UK. We all thought it would remain that way until someone commended superstar Nigerian artiste, Asa, on her ‘GTBank’ song – A Place to Be. The artiste responded with

"I wish that song will just go away already, not sure I will like to be associated with the bank tbh"

After the big shock, we decided to find out why the usually quiet Asa blasted the bank like this. And our findings revealed these 3 reasons.

PS: They are all speculative.

1. Breach of contract

In 2009, our eardrums were blessed with ‘The Place to Be’, an Asa classic, which was used by GTBank as their theme song. Every GTBank you entered then had the beautiful song wafting through their speakers, inspiring everyone to love the orange bank. We cannot confirm or deny that we know the full details of the agreement she had with GTBank, but according to our ‘sauces’ who pled anonymity, the Bank did more with the partnership than the agreement stated.

They used Asa on billboard ads, promotional materials, etc, when the agreement was allegedly for just the song. Asa wrote the bank several times and asked them to stop using her song, but they refused....

Politics / 4 Reasons Big Brother Nigeria Is Being Hosted In South Africa by Enyinweofia: 11:42am On Jan 23, 2017
Since Big Brother Nigeria began last night, it has taken over our airwaves and is the number one trend in Nigeria and beyond. But one of the major questions people have been asking is why a Big Brother NIGERIA is being hosted in South Africa. Valid questions, really, but these are the possible reasons the reality show is not being hosted here.

1. The House
There is an existing Big Brother House in South Africa, so that infrastructure won’t be a problem. Imagine building a Big Brother House here from scratch. We need to factor in costs and all.

2. Cable TV owners
Well, the cable TV is not even ours. Multi-Choice, owners of DSTV may have paused Big Brother Africa, but they recognize the fact that they have tons of viewers in Nigeria and a Nigerian reality show will get massive eyeballs. But, station remains theirs, so they’ve taken their product to their country. More IGR for them.

Music/Radio / Mr Eazi Vs Nigerians – Top Reactions by Enyinweofia: 10:43am On Jan 12, 2017
So, Mr Eazi is getting a lot of backlash from Nigerians, after he said “Ghana’s influence on present day “Naija Sound” cannot be over emphasized.”

We don’t know if he is playing to the Ghanaian gallery because he wants to hold a #LifeIsEazi concert in Ghana, or if he has eaten too much Ghana jollof, but we know Nigerians did not take his tweet lightly and are dragging him all over the place.

These are our top reactions from this evolution of the Nigeria vs Ghana jollof wars.

Business / 12 Nigerian Brands That Were Exceptional On Social Media In 2016 by Enyinweofia: 10:24am On Jan 06, 2017
Once upon a time, the life of a brand’s Social Media manager was generally routine: create content calendar, design cool banners, schedule on Hootsuite/Tweetdeck, moderate comments, respond to inquiries, go to sleep. Ease or difficulty depended on the brand’s product/service and/or who the TA was. But overall, social media management was pretty monotonous stuff.

Now, everything has changed. Brands now understand how important social media is and how it affects their reputation, perception, overhead and ultimately sales. Brands now know that the usual routine posts that scream ‘patronize us’ would not do much for them anymore, so those that are ‘smart’ are employing the services of highly skilled individuals and digital agencies to manage their online strategy. These professionals are tasked with ensuring their brands are heard, above the fray. To be seen/heard in the fast-paced world of Social Media, one has to be very creative, witty, fast and sometimes unconventional.

From remarkable campaigns to leveraging on trending events, the 12 Nigerian brands that were exceptional on Social Media in 2016 are Coca Cola, MTN, Access Bank, EFCC, GTBank, Airtel, Cowbell, etc.
