MoR2: NO
ok may we agree first, you no say pogba no be attacker so forget the counting of goals. his stats and assists are ok.
pogba is contributing to his team no doubt, but it would be silly to start comparing him to coutinho or kdb when they clearly have different styles and different roles. the most important thing is how well does pogba interpret his role in that team that makes him so valueable as to earn 290k per week and is his performance consistent. e.g kante.
i've gotten used to the new pogba, but am not sure what the new pogba is and what he stands for. to me he was a regular boss in midfield, a beauty to watch. people want to see the passion that goes with the paycheck. They all have different styles and so does their teams and coaches or the players they play with matter too. So you have watched this United team and you don't see how valuable Pogba is to the team? Interesting |

MoR2: what I think is united believe Sanchez is valuable enough for them to make him the highest earner in EPL. Putting him in the same bracket with players like messi, neymar and ronaldo. Arsenal offered him 300k according to rumour, City offered same but he always wanted 400k per week. If we forget all the bonuses and clauses the truth should lie between 350k - 400k per week.
My question is simple is Sanchez worth £400k per week When you compare his numbers with other attackers in the league you will realize he is worth that. Who was the previous highest earner in the league and how much was his wages aside bonuses? |

Eruditor: It is only story when it does not suit your narrative.
Sanchez loved United so much, they offered him big money and yet went to ask City if they could give him the same. So he refused to go to City because they were not ready to pay him this much? Interesting. I thought he loved City and Pep so much and wanted to play for them but Pep refused him? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 9:16pm On Jan 23, 2018 |
Eruditor: 60M but then he had a year left and Arsenal were still courting him - convincing him to stay back. City tried to be smart; told him to stay till season end and then come free. They would probably have given him 25M loyalty money to do that but they were not going to upset their wage structure to appease him which is where United came in.
You love links, this information is readily online. Which is where the gist about his wage demands came from. His agent, presented it to City so they could beat United's offer and Pep said no. Same thing happened with Dani Alves. You like story abeg. Just to confirm if Sanchez going to City would have been for money or paper is why you are typing plenty things. |

Eruditor: I have not claimed to be an authority, I am only stating what makes financial sense. If the figures being bandied around are anything to go by, Alexis signed a contract of anywhere between 75.6-129.6M for 4.5 years. Would it not have been cheaper to pay him 250k/week for 4.5 years with a lump-sum of 10M Pounds? It would still have cost United 64M for 4.5 years as against what is above.
As you can see, Alexis signed for money any which way we look at it. If he had gone to City last summer he would have signed for the what? |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 8:51pm On Jan 23, 2018 |
Eruditor: It is before tax.
If City are to give him bonuses for his image, they will pay him a lump-sum of say 5M or 10M GBP. You saw Neymar's loyalty bonus in Barca, was it included in his wage? No. So the excuse that Alexis' huge wage is as a result of the image rights etc does not add up. Link please |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 7:17pm On Jan 23, 2018 |
Eruditor: We can only know the befores and afters when we see the type of conflicting reports we get from the wages of United players. Some other teams or players state theirs. We know for e.g that CR7 asked to be paid 500k GBP after tax during his last wage negotiation. The figures are online. If we were seeing 500k for KDB and some other places stating 275k then we would have known that one may have been before and the other after. Abeg i don laff scatter.. KDB is reported to sign a 290k per week deal. Is this before or after tax? If it is after tax, how much do you think the full package will be? Sir can you also tell us if De Bruyne will collect some change for image right as he is currently the best player in the league? |

Eruditor: I can't reconcile the 2 of them. They are at so much variance that one has to be clearly wrong or misinterpreted.
In UK based on earnings tax bracket should be in the range of 40-50% for those who earn as much as footballers. In that regard, 45% of £225k is a figure that leaves £125k, perhaps ,which is what Zlatan "takes home" per week. So in reality, the arguments and links are somewhat the same. So when zlatan was earning say £368k a week, he was probably taking home £200k after tax.
I guess that is why Alexis wanted something so high. He was thinking of his money after tax. Smart Chilean that one!
PS: remove 45% from £600k and he is left with £330-350k which is what some others have said Alexis will earn. Wait! So it's only for Alexis or united players you calculate their wages before tax abi? How much is Due Bruyne wage pre tax? |
