The difference is despite the diversity, every American is treated fairly majority of the time (can't say all the time with the recent assaults on blacks).

However in Nigeria, one group of people carry out mayhem and senseless killings and the government keeps mute as it is in full support.

I don't think the mods here understand that nairaland is viewed all over the world and ppl form their impression about nigeria and nigerians from the content they read here on nairaland. Many of my non nigerian friends here are the ones always making jest of nigerians due to the articles they read on nairaland,they raad virtually all naija social media site and know about all our artistes. Funny enough despite the huge news traffic on nairaland, linda ikeji blog seems to be their favorite. Maybe due to content quality.
Mods we beg una , pls limit all those negative stories to the background and try to project a positive image about nigeria and nigerians to the outside world

Nairaland's problem is what I will call "local championship". Lack of exposure on the part of the owner/mods. Just as you've said, they don't realize the power of media, image and perception. I can't even recommend NL to any non-Nigerian friend, I will be too embarrassed to do so, because it is rubbish they will find here. Bellanaija would be my go-to site when it comes to recommendations.

Imagine putting pictures of a lynching every few days right on the frontpage. Very disgraceful.

I like Yoruba movies a lot, there is always a lesson and I personally think they are better than the English ones in terms of the storyline.

Yes. Odun actually pushed yoruba acting to a new level despite his low level of education. His rise in the yoruba movie industry has actually challenged ppl like femi and co to step up their pace. And what again makes odun stmnd out is the fact that he can act any role, he is good in comedy, crime al,traditional and even love stories,he can interpret any character giving to him perfectly.

Very true. The other guy people say is really good is Muyiwa demola but he doesn't seem to act much I don't know why. I saw him in the Oyenusi movie about the famous thief and he was quite good, it was actually him and Odun in that movie.

Are you serious? I kind of felt Femi had an edge and was being featured because of his father (I found out later). His acting has improved a lot but at the start he wasn't that great. Odun has been consistently good from the start.

It's a case of governance all gone wrong. People are frustrated and that's why you see them taking it out on others - just look at the case of public lynching almost every few days now. It's very barbaric and shameful.

Education standards have fallen so written English will continue to decline.

The guy is a great actor, one of the best - if not the best imho.

But Yoruba movies need to work on their subtitles, the thing fit give person headache, lol.

Actually, many people walking around 'normally' in Nigeria are far from normal. The way people seem to 'salivate' over these graphic pictures says a lot. Both the person pushing such threads, and the people who look forward to opening the threads are one and the same i.e not very okay. No value for human life.

Many countries are already putting in place long term strategic plans to completely reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Already there are LNG trucks, LPG vehicles, electric vehicles in use, and this number will keep growing.
