In the same economics, there's something called competition and when a group of people start acting like a cartel, it is slowly becoming a monopoly. It's one of the reason petrol marketers are making the government still allow petrol importation, to prevent Dangote being a monopoly. If the Chinese don't come personally, they can always have Nigerians to act as fronts and still achieve the same results.

Nigerians wouldn't have problems with the price disparities if it was negligible. But 100% and 200% upwards price margin is just diabolical. What we learnt in business studies is that once a business starts, it's bound to make some level of losses, then it breaks even after some them before eventually making profit. Nigerians are the only people I know that never want to break even, let alone make losses. They want to start a business today and buy benz tomorrow at the expense of their fellow Nigerians. And we all keep shouting that the government is the problem.

We've not even gone into the fake products category yet. That's a discussion for another day.
