Hi there, I must say that guy might have no serious responsibility with the agreement from the beginning. but the terms do not clearly mention the actions or fines if the hirer breaks the rules, so its hard to ask him to pay for repair cost or give a compensation sum. You should be more careful next time n include all possibilities in the contract, especially the actions two sides must perform when an unfortunate incident happens like this.
back to your case now, did the hirer pay for 2 weeks he used the car? and could u contact his brother? His brother should be the key person in this situation.

contacted the senior brother he doesn't pick my calls,i called the sister she told me her brother lost his phone but I did not believe her because 2days ago his line went through but he did not pick my calls.. I know I did not include all possibilities in the contract but I also state in the contract that when ever he feels like terminating the contract he should bring back my car to my house on his own cost and risk but he has not done that rather he refuse to pick up calls and my car is at the mechanic at oyingbo where his brother dropped it. He did not pay me a dime for the two weeks not a penny.

good day guys the story is a bit long , he is a friend that came to me that his life has no direction that I should help him I asked him how I can help he told me to buy him a car and his senior brother keeps calling me as well on his younger brother behalf actually am a family friend we have known for 2decades from my secondary school days.. I told him to choose a car of his choice and I will pay for it, when ever he is coming to my house at the island I send money to him and also take care of him, he told me he saw a Honda accord 2009 he likes at Ikeja, I gave him a date within same week I will be free to go with him and pay for the car and after buying the car I changed tires and painted the car, after fixing the car up we took the car to taxifier office to register the car, then I gave the car to him with an agreement of hire purchase which was signed by his brother and in-law as witness and surety, according to the agreement we had he was to pay me 30k per week for 30months and I told the brother if see my money for 20months I will give him the document that I just want him to be serious .. So I released the car to him to start working with it, but he took the car to his house and parked it there for one week, when I asked him about it he said he was waiting for his family members to come pray over the car before he starts working with it, the second week he started working with the car, he worked with the car only for three days and he purposely drive the car into a deep flood at orege in ajengunle water got into the car the engine went off , I didn't even know about this accident at first he didn't call me to tell me about it, I only noticed that whenever I call him doesn't pick, that made me to call his elder brother to ask about him, the brother called him and he said he was driving some ladies to a wedding and got into flood that shut engine he has to tow the car to yaya crecent at new road saying he doesn't have money to fix the car my car was there for 3weeks the brother who is the surety and sister keeps calling me to assist and fix my car, I went to the mechanic spent roughly 85k bought connecting road, fuel pump, the catalyst was removed I was mad had to buy another. The mechanic took more 3days to be through with the job I told the him to drive the car to my house at the island so I can test drive it to be sure it's OK, on his way he called me that the car is losing pressure won't accelerate he drove the car to city of David church at sand filled were his senior brother works and ever since then till now going to 6months he never picked my calls nor call me back The senior brother took the car to oyingbo to another mechanic and the mechanic told me the best thing now is to buy another engine and complete exhaust,that he has fix the car but when the air con is on in a hold up the engine vibrate and the car pressure is not as before,been calling the senior brother he is acting lackadaisical about the whole issue and he is the surety,the car is still at oyingbo.
