Kptech:Go and study saraki like a university course. He's bigger than any appointment he may be considering him for. He's not Tinubu's fan to say the least. One thing I like saraki for is his firmness about, and quest for a united Nigeria. The only appointment remaining for him is being president and Tinubu doesn't have that to give, except Nigerians |
I met Ken Saro-Wiwa, a very quiet man inside Odusote Bookstores Ltd, Okebola Ibadan for the first time in 1994 as a boy. People were seen exchange greetings with him and then, I plcked interest and moved closer. He came to check some of his books displayed on the shelf for sale. He was always with his pipe in his mouth. I also met him in 1995, shortly before his execution. May his soul RIP |
olawaleatanda:You're even going too far. I simply responded to your question. |
olawaleatanda:I'm old enough to father you. Enough said |
KennethOkonkwo:I'm happy you mentioned his role in rescuing Nigeria when the world turned their back at us. During this time, tinubu ran away. |
richiemcgold:See this one.Obi had done what most of the so-called politicians of today couldn't do in sacrificing for the country. During the military rule when the whole world sanctioned Nigeria and shunned our oil, it was Obi led those wbo rescued Nigeria, else hunger would have killed many. Tinubu ran away during this time. He was the negotiator for crude between Nigeria and Asian countries, through which we were able to sell our crude and live. Without his efforts, there might have been no Nigeria anymore. |
Youths of nowadays have turned agberos, praise-singers and sycophants, following someone of highly controversial personality despite the obvious, shioor |
joachimnkenchor:Tinubu may not be good luck Jonathan but will be worse in performance after the 2027 election results are announced. Jonathan era was even far more better yet, he lost. Don't think those greedy politicians who are defecting to the apc, that would decide the winning. It's the masses whose lives have been made miserable by Tinubu's government. |
tunjijones:Hope you're not among space-bookers Nice one seun osewa 👍 |
How? Can you prove your point? With atiku's interest still in place, you're getting at nowhere. Politicians in Nigeria know what to do to move the nation forward but would always prioritise their selfish retest 100% of the time, whicb is why they always fail. They know the right candidate to consider but they're still chasing shadows |
My prayers to the family of the victims. It's better imagined than experienced. Terrible! |
2 days ago, it was on how to train peope on how to do forex and now it's another weird story. By their fruits, ye shall know them and those following them. That money won't even get to beneficiaries in the first place, though not the right idea. When tinubu was lagos governor, this was his style. He empowered the agberos so much that he placed them in strategic locations..MC oluomo was his breed. He was bred as a very young man by tinubu. He gave them different assignments and they mainly carried them out on Tinubu's perceived enemies. What happens to skills acquisition programmes, vocational studies, empowering youths with great ideas, offering scholarships to Nigerian students to study those courses from which we'll benefit, back home after completion? We see the number of Chinese and Indians schooling in America on government scholarships, hundreds of thousands of them. Trump was even threatening to deport them due to trade talk stalemate with the Chinese leader recently. Tell me, why won't China or India keep growing? There are better schools in China or India but their leaders know what they're doing. When we say vote wisely, these are some of the reasons. We are about producing lithium ion batteries in Nigeria. Instead of offering Nigerian youths scholarships to study the technology behind this overseas, they'd always prefer to hire expatriates at exorbitant amount. In NLNG a few years back, there was this african-Dutch guy who was being paid 7m naira monthly by NLNG with free accommodation, free schooling of his children, free ticket for vacations in any choice location abroad, etc. I asked some of his colleagues why were they paying him so much and they said its because he possessed a CCIE, which was the peak of IT globally. It's a lab-based course and the exam is also lab-based which they move from country to country. A Nigerian wouldn't have been paid so much. He'd have been earning say, 5m naira and the government would have saved the rest. He'd have also imparted the skills on Nigerians. These are what Indian and Chinese leaders do to develop their lands. India , despite their teeming population has left us far behind in everything. They flooded Nigeria in 70s/80s looking for teaching jobs. The story has changed now. If only we can shun sentiments, Nigeria can still be redeemed. |
favor914:Chochocho. Face your lane |
Justina9:Me too. I'm sure he'd never try that |
Lawalemi:Lol. Always behaving like a drunkard. I wonder when obi held a meeting with him and told him he's going to be Atiku's VP. If atiku should come out, he'll lose gallantly. Someone should tell him to support Obi/elrufai ticket. I'll jejelly vote tinubu a fellow southerner, though i don't like him. A southerner must complete 8 years as the political make up of Nigeria is on a turn by turn basis |
This wide-mouthed fellow again? Always spewing trash. That's his opinion. He can't speak for PO |
Life. In the next 30 years, those pretty faces are already wrinkled. Nothing lasts.for ever |
We will get there someday. Na bad leaders and their followers who pretend to love Nigeria destroy this nation |
nairalanda1:Yea, it could take time before the already damaged system could be fixed but how decisive and committed the leader is, in tackling the problems could hasten the recovery process. Unfortunately, the government of the day can't achieve anything. Their policy is so awkward. Partially removing subsidy would have lifted the weight of economic hardship off the neck of the people. This could have been done in phases and in a space of one to 2 years. Angola, another oil-rich nation did it in same period and that's why their citizens didn't feel the impact. If you recall, even before Jonathan announced the subsidy removal, palliatives had already been in place. There's a sure-p programme if you remember. Buses were dispatched to states. Businesses were empowered. That should have been the best time to do this but tinubu and co stopped him with heavily sponsored protests. Tinubu rejected the palliatives meant for lagos due to politics and asked fashola not to take them. When Jonathan now threatened to dash other states those buses, he now asked him to collect them. There were other programmes for the populace. That was what obi said he'd put in place in 6 months before the partial removal was to take effect. Supplementary budget could have taken care of that. We will surely get there. How soon, I don't know but it could be sooner than anticipated with a truly committed leader in place. |
nairalanda1:All the leading candidates talked about the removal of subsidies check Google. It's just that, the approaches were different. I'm only responding to you because you're civil. I'm an ardent supporter of Obi not becasuse I've met him in person before , neither have I benefited anything under him. He's not even my tribesman. But I've seen his programmes or manifesto. Subsidy removal was there and his tax policies. He said he'd tax the middle class and the rich. Everything was there, including curbing corruption, unemployment and insecurity. Obi released to the world what Buhari's cabinet members couldn't. The moment buhari read it in the paper where Obi told the BBC that those engaging in vandalism and bunkering were in government and he'd stop them. Buhari sent his men to the creeks and the media followed them. You saw those revelations already and vessels being set ablaze during loading by criminals, to skip justice when they were caught. Obi may not be a sane but trust me, he can sanitize this nation and move her forward. He's better than all of them. The ruling class even knew this. His antecedents as Anambra governor had shown. I used to visit that side when he was governor. Now imagine if he had the opportunity to rule Nigeria what would have happened. He had said he'd punish corrupt individuals and he meant it. He's always been a decent leader. Even though he could afford jets,he was always on the economy seats and I first confirmed this in 2017 when we were on same flight so people wouldn't think it's because he was contesting that made him come so low. He's the type we need, not the belle full corrupt individuals who don't care about the sufferings of the masses. See the way they're defecting here and there. You think it's because of the masses? No! It's cos of their pocket. Same reno and bwala that are attacking him today had once said he'd be a good president if elected. Reno has a case of corruption with the efcc . Thats why he's praising tinubu to avoid being prosecuted. Obi wanted to remove subsidy, by adopting the Angola model of partial removal and reeling out palliatives beforehand. Till date, what tinubu proposed as palliatives haven't been implemented 2 years after. I don't see hope in Tinubu's leadership. From 7 months to come, they'd be warming up for 2027 elections with nothing to show. 2023 was like yesterday and naso 2027 go enter meet us. All I can say is, we all shall be wise someday. I hope it won't be too late to gain wisdom. Truly, doctors have been leaving Nigeria before the apc as you said but not as we see it today. They had options of staying cos naira was good, almost 120 to 1usd at a time. Wetin dem wan go rush do for abroad? It's well. |
Several of such unfortunate stories and experiences heard. Only ignorant people would be blaming him for all he's gone through, not knowing it's the deliberate bad policy of the government that led him into that. When we say vote wisely, e get why. Nigerians are really suffering abroad all in the name of japa |
ChybuzzDD:It's a common tactic. Not all women do this. Only some cunning and demanding ones do that a lot. I once dated one like that. Later I stopped asking how is she cos I had already known what would come afterwards from her response |
helinues:This can only come from Helisnooze...always snoozing into obidients matter |
Pootle:All our politicians no get conscience . Despite begging God for a second chance and he landed safely, he's still causing wahala in fct |
Nice one. Thanks OP. Number 6 happened in 2018 when returning from Abuja. We're headed for lagos and barely 20mins of take off, air contractors propeller engine aircraft shut down. All lights were off and we couldn't hear any sound. Suddenly, the lights were coming on and off and plane was about nose-diving. See pandemonium in the air. Those shouting Jesus were doing that uncontrollably while those shouting alhakbar were so audible. There was one man right behind me who was facing down. He seemed to have fainted as he was leaning on a young lady seated beside him. All of a sudden, light came back on and the plane accelerated back to its former altitude. The cabin crew were also in shock. One of the pilots later came out of the cockpit and apologised for what happened. People , especially women were raining curses in them for endangering human lives. The pilot said a major technical fault had occurred but quickly addressed. He said it's coupled with a minor electrical fault but we knew he was lying, it was a serious one but only downplayed it. He now said the plane would be routed back to Abuja where we took off from, for proper check. As soon as we got to Abuja, over half of the passengers on board disembarked and left for town. My colleague and I stayed back. They rectified the fault and refuelled the plane. We got to Lagos safely. It's a day I'd never forget in my life. I can't believe I'm still the one typing this message. I had thought end had come. A few days earlier I slept and saw an open land in the forest, similar to an arcade(a plane crash spot). I saw white sticks erected with names written on each stick in a secluded forest. I was awoken by the fear and I prayed against air mishap. I could say God answered, due to what happend a few days later. God speaks to many before an incident would happen but most of us just feel insensitive about it. |
The message is already heard, and very loudly. You can't retrieve them from people's memory around the world. You made trump president cos of personal interest as against the interest of the country that made you. America will be wise next time |
You caused it. You know the type of a girl she is. Next time don't ask her how is she or what's up again. Just respond...good morning and that's all. If she asked how was your night, tell her , thank God and don't ever ask...and yours? Except you wan hear wetin go vex you ![]() |
They must not escape oo |
SatoshiX:That's discipline naw. They're not even wearing a customised jersey. A lot is wrong with our formation and sports generally. Corruption is killing it. They'll see a very good local player but because they can't see money to collect in exchange for the jersey, they'd not enlist him See the bright performance of remo stars recently? They're all local breeds. They can represent Nigeria in any tournament and do well. Sadly, corruption is from top-down. Once we get leadership right, all other things will fall in it's right place. But are we ready yet? |
Sleeping african giants will wake up someday. This I know. God bless Nigeria |
ActressAbimbola:Every news credited to this government always later turns out to be true . They could debunk it tomorrow but later back track. We know them more than they think they know themselves. |
frog12:I still dey laff on top of my bed like this oh, my. |
