Good afternoon, please I want to know how long it take to open an account because I registered on investment one and before I transferred money I asked the person assigned to me (he's name is Oluwatobi Adesina) if there were any problems with my account so that when I transfer the account will be opened swiftly, he said no problem, after I transferred he started saying that I needed to send a valid utility bill which we resolved, he then said he will open the account which was 2 days ago, I called yesterday he said he will open the account before the close of work yesterday, I called today, he refused to pick and cut my call, is this how Investment One works, right now I am no longer interested in investing with a company that cannot keep to their word and plays hanky panky with my money, I have instructed him via text that I want my money back

Please house can you advise me on a means or method which I can retrieve my money speedily, do I need to get a lawyer? Do I need to right to SEC?

Thanks for your swift response

No matter how good a firms products or policies are, its the work of the personnel's to deliver the right quality of service to the customers and when the fail, every other thing fails.
Go to their website you will see their inquiry mail, write to them explaining the poor service you have received so far and ask for a refund of your money( they may still ask you to fill a redemption form)

I hope this is not another form of MMM in disguise. I checked their site out and saw the design like MMM. For instance, you sponsor a farm(more like providing help), you wait for a period of time during which the sponsored farm grows(similar to mavro of MMM growing), then the interest with the capital is paid(just like GHing). After which you recycle or walk away. There is also a referral bonus. I spoke with one of the agents and demanded that I see the farm before I can sponsor but he said because of security reasons, they don't show sponsors the farm. This makes me wonder if they really have a farm somewhere or not.

Please does anyone have more information about the Farm Funds Africa and similar platforms? Do they really have farm somewhere? If yes has anyone seen those farms in existence?

Kindly enlighten me more. Thank you

Could be audio Farm grin grin grin grin grin

Apologies but is ARM a custodian of a bank or stands separate?

The appraisal on it has been too positive and I have funds with both AXA and Stanbic MMF which I might liquidate

They are not a custodian, they are just a fund manager same as AXA, stanbic, investment-one, afrinvest, FBNquest etc

Years ago when I wanted to start investing afresh, I visited Investment One in Abuja.

After all the stress, filling of forms, exchange of emails, then I was asked to submit my account details.

I guess they inquired from GT bank my money flow which was not impressive then...

The lady refused to reply my numerous emails thereafter. Amaka is her name, if I can recollect correctly.

I felt really bad.

Now that I am bouncing again, I would have love to use them but that treatment still hunts me.

They are ready for ready made persons and are not willing to help upcoming investors grow.

Best luck with them but not me.

This is really bad, that's how individuals bring bad name to a firm, very sorry about your experience, I don't work with investment one but I can assure you there service is one of the best, I have used them for over 5years so am very sure of what am saying.

Good afternoon all. I have started Stanbic MMF since last year and I have never had any issue with them. However a senior friend asked me today that what happens if the bank folds up, like Savannah bank or UBA and I couldn't answer. Experts in the house kindly help out please. Thanks

The difference between a registered fund and just investing in a firm is the way it is structured to ensure investors don't loose funds if the fund manager goes under, so for all mutual funds in Nigeria there are always the following parties involved,

Fund manager( who manages the fund)
custodian ( who holds the funds)
Registrar (who keeps records of all investors and transactions)
Trustee (who ensures the fund manager sticks to the investment objectives)

We still have the external auditors and the regular monitoring by SEC to ensure the fund manager sticks to the investment objective, so if stanbic goes down(which is not likely to happen) your funds are safe because they are not with stanbic but with the custodian.

It is High Networth Investors or Institutional investors that can invest directly in Sovereign Eurobonds or Corporate Eurobonds because of the minimum investment required which varies from $50,000 to $100,000.

That is why most retail investors invest in Eurobond funds where they have minimum investment of $1000 and $10,000.

What is the minimum investment for a dollar fund?

Eurobond funds and dollar funds are the same thing

Eurobond also have waiting periods of 180 days.

The Eurobond funds of FBN Asset Management, Stanbic IBTC, United Capital and others are all mutual funds.

You need between $1000 and $10,000 to invest in them

I feel you are mixing it up, eurobonds and eurobonds funds or dollar fund are not the same thing

None in Nigeria.

You can buy Eurobond from United capital with $1000. This is about the lowest

I stand to be corrected but I think dollar funds are like MMF,
usually there lock in period is 180days as against buying eurobonds which are typically long term investments.
You can invest with as little as $1k as against buying eurobonds directly where you will need up to $10k and above.

The downsize is when you invest with small volume and or a short tenor, transaction charges alone will almost wipe out your profits grin but dollar funds offerw you the opportunity to accumulate dollars over a period of time while still giving you returns above what domiciliary account would give.

I have to be a bit sentimental here grin did you use the link in my signature to open the account? Because that is the only way I can benefit o. Well if not next time use it and help your brother.
That is by the way, what ernie4life is say is this. VGIF has a guaranteed income base on the sdf while there is always additional income. The SDF - standard deposit facility is the rate CBN gives to Banks when they deposit funds with them. It used to be 9% but during one of the CBN meetings within the year it was reduce to 8.5%. So VGIF guaranteed rates is bench marked with sdf. But from experience there is always additional income. You can check my signature for any ... if need be.

Supported, it would be morally wrong for someone to come here, get sensitive information but go behind you and open an account but when he or she needs further clarification or has a problem, the same person will come here asking for answers.

I remember the days when VGIF was pegged to MPR and was paying more than treasury bills, those good old days
