aliondo:I hereby call on every objective NBA fan to come and be the judge. https://reddit.app/8sAKA6oYqM That is a link to Gobert’s 4th foul. If you need the 5th I can bring it too. If you are bored, read the comments underneath. PS: I called out the REFs not your TEAM. |
kokaneprodigy:Or he can move to the US to revolutionise their league. Maybe even swap with Viera. LOL |
aliondo:Go and read up on your basketball history (search for Tim Donaghy and hear what he had to say about the NBA). I don't want to dwell on this as you keep missing the point. See how you reverted to Russ as if I criticised his game yesterday or was even talking about him to begin with. For the umpteenth time, I don't care between either team who wins. They are not going to play GSW in the WCSFs and neither will beat Rockets. |
iPopAlomo:I don't know where you are getting these conjectures from but it is simply not true. You cannot make enough profit from the champions league to offset any debt. How much do you really think club's make from the champions league? And also, why have you held unto this rumour mill that Arsenal will not spend beyond 50M next season? Hope you know your club is rooted at 6th in the league and NOTHING today predicts that the next season will be any better without spending. So the news is just gossip mill probably instigated by the club to weed out managers who are only interested in experimenting with Arsenal or as a pedestal for another job. In fact, if that news were true, Arsenal will regress even more next season and it will not be because the new coach was a fraud. |
While I feel the board would have let him finish his contract next year, it is my theory that he told them he wanted to leave at the end of the season because some members of the board and fans asked for his head. The only thing the board through Gazidis did is to make him announce it early. First, to settle the season-ticket holders many of which were reneging on renewing, and perhaps to open up their market for his replacement. To that end, Wenger was not sacked, but he was sacked. The man actually said this farewell tour is his Arsenal farewell tour not his footballing one. So I guess he might take up another job elsewhere. Could be wrong. |
aliondo:Guy, relax and read what people are saying. Nobody said the refs made shots for Russell. I am even the one who used the exact line you have above "that Russell's 3s could not be rigged" but you need to understand something. If I want to swing momentum against GSW today, I just need to put KD or Draymond in foul trouble. If Curry is playing, do same to him and watch momentum swing. For OKC, just get Adams or Russell in trouble and that is it. For Jazz, it is Gobert. Gobert prior to his foul calls was swatting everything that came into the paint. He blocked Russell a couple of times and PG as well. Russell was 5/16 BEFORE Gobert left the game. He ended up 16/35. Which means Russell shot 11/19 after Gobert left. That is no coincidence. It is scientific. How did Russell heat up? He first drove to the paint after Gobert left. Once he got fouled and hit the FTs. Next he made a 2pt shot. Then he hit back to back 3s. Then he got FTs again by driving into the paint. These are rhythmic shots. Once everything you do leads to points, you start getting confident to shoot more and the story goes. This was 8mins left in the 3rd Q. OKC reduced the deficit to 13 through 3pts and FTs from PG and Russell so Synder panicked and brought Gobert back to stop the bleeding. Immediately Gobert got 2 FTs. He split them. Then he dunked from a rebound. Then he got an offensive rebound and bam! the refs called an offensive foul on him and that was number 5. He had to leave and did not return again till the 4th. And OKC tied the game by the end of the 3rd quarter. So when we say Gobert leaving, changed the game, it did. I don't care who wins the series. I only wanted to see a worthy opponent for Houston. Now why I am sure they will rig the series is for obvious reasons it is more watchable than any other 3-2 series at this point. The next inline is the Wizards one in which Raptors need God in game 6 because that series will get to game 7 and so on. I rest my case. |
aliondo:Silver’s duty is to make money for the NBA and ratings bring money. If he sees an opportunity to improve ratings he will take it. There is nothing new. I am not going to play either of those teams till WCFs (if they get there) so I have no dog in the fight. I already called out the BS reffing even when Jazz still had their 8pt lead. What is bad is bad. Simple. If you doubt me, go online or listen to the analysts talk about the Gobert 4th and 5th fouls. Na. It was unfair especially the offensive foul on Gobert for Abrines. |
birdman:I won’t even watch game 6. Silver go rig am to force game 7. I was watching the series to see how tough it will be for Houston. I am not convinced by either teams. Make I just face my Pelicans and hope for the best. |
5pt lead by OKC. Neither of these teams can pick more than a game against Houston. Their weaknesses have been fully exposed. OKC: Streaky team. Stars must align for all to go well. Jazz: take Gobert out through foul trouble. I don retire from this one. May the best team win. |
aliondo:5 fouls. That is what I and Smoosh were talking about. |
SmooshCHN:Crowder even begged for that last foul and the refs ignored. You can’t rig Russell’s shooting. He was lit. But those fouls man....na...NBA e no good. |
Tie game. Huge 3rd by Russell with 4 3s in this half. |
Down to 6. From 25pts. Jazz got cocky but the 4th and 5th on Gobert were trash man. I hate games being decided by refs. |
Down to 13. But that 4th foul on Gobert was questionable. Swung momentum. |
donlittle25:He has hit back to back 3s now. He is heating up. |
donlittle25:They are going to sack Billy D. |
birdman:I doubt it bros. 24pt lead now. |
donlittle25:I won’t blame him so far. The whole team just looks somehow. Lacking leadership and at some moments disinterested. I think if they don’t close up this 15pt gap by 3rd Quarter they would give up and lose the 4th easily. |
How many assists have OKC made now? They have almost no chemistry. |
15pt lead. Chesapeake is silent. I did not believe in the curse of the 4th seed in the west but it is looking true. |
Roland17:That is the right word; uncoordinated. It is like they go home after every loss and resume game day to try the same things all over. |
I don’t know how to quantify this OKC team. |
NictisZorander:I do not deny you your God-given right to have an opinion even if it is unrelated to mine. And by unrelated I mean off-point. |
Roland17:I tire o. A bad clock will still tell the correct time 2times in a day. Yeesh. They beat the Pacers. Not 1986 Boston. |
It is the Pacers they beat ahome by a buzzer beater after squandering an 11pt lead. They did not beat the Golden Houston Warriors. |
popizaino:Sarcasm. |
Bayern too slow in the wings. Ribery is done. |
I mean he beat Tottenham and nobody pointed out how he spent over 200M more than them. |
SmooshCHN:We've gotta be better against NOP though. Smother them with great D and take home games. We can bring Steph away and crush them with spacing. |
iPopAlomo: ![]() Benitez got sacked by Inter and RM. Clubs he failed miserably at. If money brought success then Benitez should have won all and sundry with both teams. Alas, money is not an excuse for success. Lack of money however is an excuse for not failing. |
I did not watch a single game vs Spurs. Never wanted to. Only checked score report and read comments. We need SC back. I heard the 4th quarter was a sh-t show. |
homesteady:Just like I was saying to Patrickmurf, any team can get shell shocked. Not saying it will happen but it could. Roma could just score from a free kick or corner kick and next thing LFC can panic. Another frantic decision can be a penalty and next thing Roma need only 1 goal. Then LFC start trying to defend their goals difference and who knows. Sometimes that is how it happens. People forget that City led from the 2nd minute. Hit the bar and had a legitimate goal ruled out all before the start of the 2nd half. If that Sané’s goal was allowed going into the 2nd half, LFC might have played with more fear. But knowing it was 1 goal and City needed 3 more in the 2nd half it was easy for them to come out instead and score from a defensive mistake. I actually want LFC to win because I think they can beat RM if both teams meet in the finals whereas Roma stand no chance. Again this is IF Bayern don’t help us already. |
