airmark:They did not have Walker when Monaco knocked them out. Besides, Emenalo forced Morata that Conte chased just one season before he was bought and was the number 2 on Conte's list. Who do you people think you are lying to? |
airmark:You guys are hypocrites. Walker was starting for a Tottenham that finished 2nd. Who else was going to make the team in the RB position from them if not him? Why did you not mention that Cahill and Luiz made that team yet you had us believe Conte was using scrubs. |
Greatihex:LOL. You said "Pep never lost any key member of his team". That was your excuse for Chelsea and Liverpool. I asked you why they sold a key member 40M and bought someone else 40M before they even sold the key member? Is that not proof that player is not key? Coutinho was sold the question I asked was when? City were already going to win the league before he left so what does Phil leaving have to do with why Pep won? LOL. I hope you see why I said you don't follow anything logically. No offense. |
Ibime:Walker is better than Trippier at certain things and he was first choice no denying that. But I am telling you it was not a 90-10 thing. More like 55-45. And Walker was not the best RB in the league anything. Tottenham have never cried that Walker left the way they will should Harry Kane or Eriksen leave. I am not guessing about Sané. You know Bayern refused to pay for him when Pep was in Bayern right? |
Greatihex:Trippier is a better crosser and reader of the game than Walker. Walker is speed and power. 2 good players in their own right but Trippier is more of a Pep type player than Walker. I have told you before, for e.g Pep wanted Ter Stegen but it was easier to sign Bravo. |
Ibime:Conspiracy theorist at his finest. City went for Walker because it was easier to buy him than Trippier. You are right that Walker wanted to leave though. Remember Pep was going for Dani Alves, when he took PSG's offer for more money, City then went all in for Walker. So Walker was not City's first choice. Let me just put it out there. Sané tapped up by Bayern lol. Sané already told (I forget the press) that he will be in City for years after the United game. Players taking their time to sign contracts is not new. Every agent wants to eke out as much money as possible for their clients. |
krattoss:A player is 6ft tall another is 4ft. Which of them will need a higher-heeled shoe if they want to get to 7ft? Answer on post card. |
Greatihex:Sanchez was a key member of Arsenal too so? What microscopic incoherent point are you trying to voodoo-out now? Matic was a key member and they were planning to buy Bakayoko? Coutinho was a key member of Liverpool and he went what season? When Pep was already going to win the league or before? Team's better than that City: Tottenham, Chelsea easily. United and Liverpool had teams on par with that City team. |
Greatihex:Hahaha Walker was getting benched to Trippier before he left. His last few games Poch was playing Trippier. Best RB in the league indeed. As if English homegrown talents are not overpriced. You are telling us 50M. If a team is to sign even Trippier today how much will he go for? |
Greatihex:You have never been known to follow any thing to a logical conclusion in your entire life. Preferred to reunite with his former boss indeed. Jorginho has no say in where he is to be sold except both teams have met the same valuation set by the parent club. City agreed the 50M that Napoli claimed and Jorginho had given Pep his word that he will sign with the team (just like Sanchez). The very moment Chelsea wanted him (because Sarri asked for him) Napoli asked City and Chelsea to pay 55M for the player. City said no. Chelsea agreed, and the rest they say is history. Another signing that went the same way? De Jong to Barcelona. Pep spoke to the player (even Valverde admitted it) but when Barcelona agreed to pay that 75M, City backed out. A player they thought they could get for 60M before. You will soon tell us De Jong went to Barcelona to reunite with Cryuff's spirit. |
Ibime:But he was used as a winger for the most part this season and scored at least 9 goals in all competitions. He did not reduce their total goals and in fact, according to his manager, was the best player this season. If his fraud manager could use him in that role you said he won't be good at to win 98points, should that manager not get any credit? |
Ibime:For whatever you thought about Sterling, he was a 5 goals a season player which is part of why Pep finished 3rd despite his team creating the most chances in the league. Then he worked on that same Sterling to the statistical juggernaut he is today. Instead of accepting that the manager has proven his mettle. You are now telling us that the player is and has always been top 3 in your eyes. Here is the poignant hypocrisy: when the manager did not do well you said he failed despite having players who are "top 3". Now that he has won resoundingly you say " he won because he has top 3 players". Ibime, when is he supposed to win? When he does not have players at all? |
Ibime:Ibime, you said Bernardo was not good after the Bournemouth game that City won 2-1 at the 95th minute (I recall that post vividly). I saw some of you say CR7 was in a one-man team in Portugal. Today, Bernado is top 20 -because he plays for Pep. You insulted Sterling, Stones, Otamendi, City have barely had a natural LB for 2 seasons. Yet you are telling us Djibouti budget. If Marcus Alonso played for City, Pep would have used him over Delph and Zinchenko. Guess what you would have said today? That he is top 20. I am seeing you quoting a post about Net spend. Ibime the mathematician, what does Netspend have to do with anything? If City sells Iheanacho for 25M and Bony for whatever amount and buy Gab Jesus for 27M it will still be drowned by the signing of Mendy and Walker even when City sold 4 full backs before buying those 2. The simple reason is because you are selling dead wood which have no value. You guys are now lying that Conte did not want to sell Matic even when Conte was the one who sold Matic. The only difference is Conte wanted Matic sold to Juve not United. But CFC board sold to United. You are sidestepping the fact that Conte bought Bakayoko and was planning to even when Matic was there. You people should keep blowing hot air. My joy is, you are trying to downplay Pep from a position of his victory. Just imagine if he did not win, you may have had a case. |
Ibime:Conte's team won the league 1.5 seasons prior. Finishing 10th was and will always be a fluke. If you want to be finicky then tell me how Conte wins that league without Kante? So why are you making it look like it was the exact same team when it was not? Sterling, Sané, Fernandinho are the solid players? The same Fernandinho someone even claimed Casemiro that cannot pass a ball is better than? You people should keep telling yourselves anything that helps you sleep at night. |
larride:How long do you think, it will take for y'all to fall?/ that's a serious question because I seriously question all of y'all/ |
airmark:That is exactly what I said. Conte wanted Lukaku at 70M and VVD at 60M. But when Everton asked for more, Chelsea refused to pay. Same for VVD. United and LFC paid the fees. So your Conte excuse is lame. |
popizaino:Apart from that, all those players they are calling top 20 were made top 20 by Pep. NOT one single soul had good things to say about these same players after the WC. |
benji93:Seconded. |
benji93:Yea. Who else noticed the FTs they just started giving us at the end of the game? Hahaha. Trying to even things out. |
benji93:The 2nd unit is playing with the right intensity. I can't fault them. |
Hardetayour:That is why I am angry. This is pure ref ball. How many late whistles? Like wait to see if they make it then give them the call. |
2nd unit playing with the right intensity. Klay shooting better. |
Portland have shot 22FTs to our 3. That is in a home game where we were 17 up. I am tired of Adam Silver's league. |
Curry was careless with the ball but goddamit what are these foul calls? |
That was a foul on Curry. The Blazers are in this game due to god-awful refereeing. god-awful. |
Good time out by Kerr. Better yell at them. We are almost coasting. These are things Rockets never let us do. |
Hardetayour:I said that. |
We get separation. Then Curry starts getting cute with rubbish behind the back passes and missing defensive assignments. We are now playing down to Portland's level. Same mistake we made game 2 vs Clippers. |
Threezus and the Defense we are playing is giving me life. Klay Thompson's defence is on point but his shooting is off. |
I said it before Jaylen Rose. |
Hardetayour:Let the NBA be deceiving themselves with their funny dealings. So this will appease the Pels as AD goes to LA and their pick as well as some of their starters right,? |
benji93:If I say it here they will say I complain too much. How can they be getting these fouls and later people will tell me it is Curry's height that makes them not call his fouls. How are CJ and Dame getting them then? |
