darkelf:They make them give hot takes. I would not even get worked up by it. |
TalabiAudu:When they do it, remove your eyes so you won't see it. You people already see the writings on the wall but will rather believe otherwise. Like you did not see Liverpool 7pts ahead with potentially going 10 over City only to be 2 ahead with a game in hand for City. What you Pep haters should be doing is pray he does not win the UCL because the league is a foregone conclusion. I am reiterating it; City will win the EPL. If they don't I will eat my hand. |
ipledge10:KD is no fool. He has seen what happened to Bron in Lakers. LOL. KD goes to Knicks even with Kyrie they may not even make the playoffs in the east. That team has nothing else and are trying to rebuild. The other thing that makes me laugh is Clippers. Like GSW are so useless that as soon as KD goes there they will be NBA Champs. Something he could not do with Russell Westbrook and them. |

hensben:LMAOOOOO |
Khanben:Same things I have said here. Bucks were predicted to have 45-48 wins this season. They had 60 but people will turn around later and tell you the players were already All-stars. Just like Kerr took us from a 51 win team to 67-15 and a ring even when GSW were projected to be a 4th or 5th seeded team. Next they started claiming it was Alvin Gentry. He left, we won 73. They said it was Luke Walton, he left we won 67 again. Yet the only permanent fixture has been Kerr (apart from Curry, Klay and Draymond). |
ipledge10:Warriors' don't want KD to leave. It is the NBA analysts and journalists that feel it is the best chance to open up the title so they are pushing the narrative. Have you forgotten KD already said what will shape his decision was, money? Guess the only team that can actually give him the most money? You guessed right. Yet they ignore it and keep pushing this rubbish about NY Knicks and Clippers. Things that don't even make sense. |
ipledge10:Curry meant business today. As if he wanted to pass a message. I was happy with KD not forcing things and I felt the tech on him the first time was absolute rubbish. |
Hardetayour:I blame the refs. They let him be a nuisance, but once you treat him the same way, they want to protect him. Some of the foul calls on Cousins were BS as well. |
Roland17:I don't know why they keep using them for Warriors games. |
SmooshCHN, are you watching this game on mute? I can't deal with Mark and Gundy anymore. |
HanksAnuku:Did City get to the FA Cup final last season? Did they not lose 3-0 in the first leg of the UCL quarter final last season? Were they in contention for all possible trophies by this time last season? Instead of you to just accept your goof and unlook my rejoinder you are here grasping at straws. Help me understand something, apart from being obdurately dumb, what else do you do for a living? |
HanksAnuku:Total number of points garnered =/= peak performances. Peak performances is by winning a UCL game 7-0, a top 4 clash 6-0, 2 other games 7-0 each and a 9-0 game. PEAK meaning top...meaning reaching a height you did not previously meet. Delph, David Silva, KDB, John Stones, Otamendi, Sane, Kompany, Mendy, are regular starters from last season who have played less league games this season....I don't know who narrowed the scope of City's season to only the league. I am sure you zeroed in on the league to make a moot and disingenuous point. Over the course of the season, City have won more games this time than they did last time out. For e.g, they are in the FA cup final which they did not get to last season and in the UCL 2nd round they won both games H and A which is already 4 extra wins. And yes, the regular starters did not even contribute that much to it. Last season Man City conceded 0.7 league goals per gameAgain, straining a gnat to swallow a camel. The league season is one measure. City are more advanced in all stages of competitions they are vying for compared to last season and have conceded less in the same. Stop making this half-assed arguments. BTW City have scored more now already than what they did throughout last season in all competitions. Bernando Silva is a regular that barely played last season. Zincheko another one. Laporte another one. Gundogan another one. Aguero has already played more this season than he did through last season. You have essentially the same crop of players that played last season only that they are now playing again. That is increased team chemistry and the stats show it. The person that brought you here should come and carry you away. You have depleted all our L stores. There's nothing left to give. Last year, we had to give you other letters of the alphabet to make up the shortfall. We don't want to have to switch to Arabic or Chinese alphabet abeg.So a if a team has say 98 points and yet wins the FA Cup, Carabao, Community Shield and gets to a UCL final, they are worse off than the one that had 100pts and the carabao cup, crashed out of FA cup quarters, UCL quarters? I suspect you are related to Professor Dumbledore with all his magical abilities to conjure up garbage out of thin air. Only that the professor is virtual and the DUMB part is fully capitalized. |

larride:City too have one of the best away records, yet they lost + Tottenham have conceded 21 goals away to City's 9 lol. You should ask yourself the type of Home record City have this season. The funny thing is, I have already seen the excuses people will make on here when City qualify. As for betting with money, never done that on this forum, won't start now. My whole spirit, soul and being is on City EASILY qualifying. It won't even be close. |
Greatihex:Did Arsenal not lose 3-1 to Rennes first leg? Did Arsenal not beat Rennes 3-0 to qualify? Now I am telling you that City are more imperial than Arsenal at home and Tottenham are as bad as Rennes were away from home. Put the 2 together and you will understand my confidence in City. Talmbout any draw..lol. Like City lost 3-0 or something. |
Greatihex:This City is better in terms of peak performances. This team is better in terms of winning without the regular starters. This team is better in terms of efficiency. This team is better in terms of scoring. This team is better in terms of conceding less goals over the season. This team is better in terms of playing together longer than the previous one. Is this type of reasoning too high for people of your ilk? |
. |
Greatihex:I am sure you think you have made any sense. You just hopped on the other daft post to erect your own dafter post. If someone loses won't gambling, making a mistake or bad refereeing be one of the reasons? Why are Chelsea fans just daft like this? Okay, saying that a weaker team leading by 1 goal will require a miracle to beat a stronger team at their ground is a stupid statement. I believe in miracles but I am still curious as to how you survive without a brain? |
timbros:Context is key! I was asked to explain something, I did but they will not take it. So I returned the favor by saying, don't make that same thing you will not take your own excuse. To reason things out is not that difficult. |
larride:If Wednesday is upon you, then wait for it. I already said City will knock Tottenham out. That one is not even arguable to me. I also said I am not making any bold predictions about the scoreline so asking me to bet is just clout-chasing. Those who watched the match then should not give excuses about watching this one. I don't want to hear, Aguero was offside, Sterling's penalty was soft and other hogwash that people on here have said before. |
Greatihex:He gambled against Arsenal but it worked. Maybe you were not reading comments here when people saw the lineup. You keep talking about lost both legs as if I did not tell you how. Liverpool were only the better team in the first 30mins of the 2 legged tie last season. It is one of the vagaries of football. If you are asking why the same things won't happen this season. 1. This City team is better than that one (for e.g they deserved to beat Liverpool home and way this season). 2. Pep is a better manager this season. He has absolutely demolished every big team at the Etihad this season. Putting the two together, Tottenham will need nothing short of a miracle to come out victorious after the second leg. I won't make any bold predictions, but it could be Pochettino's worst loss as a manager of Tottenham. It is not being boastful. This City team is so much better on their day. |
Greatihex:Losing to United was a freak result even though he gambled as well- that is not why they lost. They threw chances away (Sterling was chief in this) and got complacent. United got a break, got 2 goals but then got their winner of an offside. Afterwards, it was about impressive saves from De Gea, close calls and bad refereeing. Pep made a mistake against Liverpool in the first leg. He said so. But as great as Liverpool played their first goal came from an offside and the 2nd goal was a long range shot from Oxlade. In the second leg, City not only deserved to win the game, they were cheated by bad refereeing. They led 1-0 in 5 mins and then Sané scored a LEGITIMATE goal which the ref ruled as offside (even when the Liverpool defender played the ball to him) which would have meant they led 2-0 going into the second half. The game was poised for City to win but that goal was ruled out. Pep was banished to the stands for complaining and Liverpool took initiative, then scored in the 2nd half after catching a break from the referee in the first half. At this point, City needed 4 more goals to qualify. There was nothing to play for again and Otamendi made another mistake towards the end of the game which gave the game to Liverpool. There is nothing tactical to discuss there. |
VargasVee:I am not salty. He gambles. He overthinks sometimes. Most times it works..few times it does not. I did not say he wanted to lose. I said he gambled. Everyone knows that is not his best team and if he felt something was going wrong he would have tried to correct it. He did not even make an attempt. And Kane going out is not about masterclass. The point is, that Tottenham's job of finishing top 4 just got harder. My money is on City against Tottenham, any time any day. Whether City will win the UCL is up in air but making it to the semi finals? They will do it. You can take that to the bank. |
HanksAnuku:Gab Jesus played Brighton so Aguero was going to start this one. Aguero was taken off even before Tottenham scored abi? Do you take out your best striker when you are still trying to score? But he rather rested him so he would be fresh because they will need him going forward. There is really no need for these arguments. We would be here next leg god-willing. |
HanksAnuku:I said MUST-win games he puts Laporte there. For teams he does n't feel are deadly, he might play Delph or Zinchenko. |
airmark:I dey here baba. City will be crowned EPL champions. That one is a sure thing. |
VargasVee:This right here is my issue with superficial thinkers. You have one idea and refuse to read the simple statements people are making. Liverpool had to beat Porto as that game was home. That is where you sink your teeth. That is the game they must prioritise. If Pep was home, he would have done same. He was not. He looked at his fixtures and felt, with this line up, I still think I can get a good result. That is all he tried to do. As he lost by 1-0 did he lose points to Liverpool? No. As he lost is the tie effectively over? Only a fool will say so. His gamble did not exactly pay off but it did not entirely fail. Tottenham have lost Harry Kane yet they are chasing top 4. If Poch had a choice, he would lose Son not Harry. If you want to talk about Pep failing or losing, why don't you wait till that actually happens. LOL |
BikeMan:You underrate City so much. |
HanksAnuku:The comment is simple, that was more of a disruptive setup. Now, game is 0-0 he still leaves it as it is. Then 1-0 down, most managers react. He did not. That leaves us with only one conclusion. |
HanksAnuku:You are deliberately misunderstanding me. Let us watch out for the 2ng leg to see the squad he will start. If Mendy is not fit, Laporte will play LB instead of Delph. That is what Pep did in all must win games. Kompany will be in the CB position as well. Only one of Ferna or Gundo will start. They will inject B.Silva if need be and KDB will play as well as Raheem and Aguero. You know this. |
HanksAnuku:LOL I did not not say he was not trying to win. I said he gambled hoping he could get a result with that squad he put out and did almost nothing to change things even when Tottenham scored. Compare that to the Swansea game. |
