olasubomy: Thank you so much Esekaris,i guess have to be patient.
The deadline for the payment of school fees is already here, unfortunately, i have to brace up to pay the late penalty fee. That is the Nigeria we have found ourselves.
It is well. I also miss the deadline for my school too but what can we do. If the money doesn't arrive on time to the CIBC, most times it may not arrive in full. Meaning CIBC may charge some little interest on it. |

olasubomy: Good evening,
Please for those who has paid tuition fees from a Nigerian bank in favour of schools in Canada, i need clarification on how you went about it.
I just initiated payment of tuition fees with my bank and also filled the Form A along with transfer instruction form which was filled in favour of the school but payment to be wired to CIBC which is the bank my school advised.
My bank keeps telling me they are awaiting clearance from CBN on dollar payment so as we speak, my account is yet to be debited.
Please is there any other way this can be done as i do not have a dollar account because i have not noticed anyone complain on challenges on payment of tuition fees. Hi ola, I experienced same issue too. You will have to be very patient, they will eventually debit you. Mine took like forever, CBN needs to give them clearance even when they debited me for them to remit to the CIBC, took a while, I disturbed my account officer tire so be patient. The only thing is the money would arrive late to the CIBC. Form A is cheaper but it's not easy at all especially nowadays. You can keep contacting them, let them know you'd travel soon and you need the receipt that's what I did. All the best |

Rootiab: Good day everyone. Please permit me to share my story. I started this Canada talk since 2012/2013 when I graduated from secondary school then I later went to one university in ghana. Fast forward to 2018 when I was serving and I still wanted to travel then 2020 came and j started my process, I was miraculously able to raise 1m cause when I suggested Canada to my parents they said no. So before I started, a friend gave me an agents number which I called and he said I can't get admission for masters with my 2.2 and that even if I apply for pgd I have 20% chance of getting visa, I later went home and prayed and I applied and I got admission into 2 schools in Canada and chose Memorial and I paid part of my tuition which was also above the initial deposit and I wrote my ielts, which I just prepared for 3 days and I passed. So after all this I started thinking of where will I get statements since my parents are refusing to sponsor or help in anyway, then I spoke with ese and she told me to pray and have faith, although I contacted some people who were telling me to pay 500k, 400k for statements of just 10m. So I finally decided to go back and ask my parents with the help of my sister and Glory be to God my parents agreed and gave me statements of 15m which was more than what other were offering for 500k. Luckily for me I was able to submit my application this morning by 3am. I Just want to Say Thank you so much y'all for encouraging everyone and also advising everyone. I'm grateful, for those yet to apply and still in process, commit everything to God and he will do it. Peace It would end in praise dear. So Happy your parents finally agreed to sponsor you. Awaiting your testimony. |

Yteem: Please see attached. Confirm before you go ahead please.
Also I think the transmission fee takes care of the slip. Thank you so much |

Yteem: Big congratulations to you. Wishing you all the best as you forge ahead.
Hope this helps with your question Yes it does thank you. But I don't have the biometric acknowledgement slip, I submitted to vfs Lagos with my first application. Would paying the transmission fee suffice? How much is the fee again? |

JustMellow: Hello Esekaris1,
I understand from your post that you've not yet resumed. However, I will still render my opinion with the two perspectives below;
If you've not resumed your duties, get a reference letter advising the VO of the job security and strongly describing the official set date to join the coy prior after your study in Canada.
But if you've resumed your duties, get a leave and reference letter.
All the best Thank you |

Hello guys please I want to inquire is there any need to apply for a study leave letter at where you did once did an internship but you have completed the internship after which you were given an offer of employment and it states that you are expected to resume the new position after masters after your masters. My boss said there's no need, I just want to be sure. |

olasubomy: Time 2 Soar; Thank you for your immense contribution. Please i also have a question which is similar to a question i have asked before but need to buttress my question further so i can be properly guided. I got an admit to Vancouver Island University with total estimated school fees of around 50k dollars and also go admit to University Canada West with estimated total fees of around 32k dollars. Both MBA admissions. I would like to ask if you feel strongly for me to pick one of these schools and based on the fees and if yes which one should i pick? I choose to settle for these schools basically because i dont have a GMAT score nor GRE and my overall IELTS is 6.5 but have quality years of experience, professional accounting certifications and good GPA. This question is also to the house . What do you think. I am asking should in case there is a better University i can take advantage of that i am unaware of based on what i have now. Would be expecting your response my gurus in the house. I am planning to apply for Jan or February 2021 resumption. Let me give my little two cents In my own opinion, VIU is very expensive for tuition compared to UWC which is way cheaper. UCW is a private instuition. Another reason why I like UCW is that if you wish, you can fast track your MBA and finish in 15 months that's without break... Back to back. however you must know that UCW is located in downtown Vancouver... The living cost there in downtown Vancouver is not beans dear. You could also look at Thompson Rivers MBA, you don't need GMAT and it's a public funded university. Also, if you have ACCA as your accounting certification. UCw has an acca pathway you could take advantage of. Also I don't think you need IELTS for most schools in Canada as a Nigerian. It's mostly needed in EE route. |

oyinlove15: What specialization are you taking on finance, marketing or leadership, if you are taking on finance they are still several schools with just msc finance, I am even surprised that you got MBA at ucw despite not having GMAT. My own point is you need to check on through the courses offer to know if you are satisfied with it you could also check LinkedIn for alumnis of both schools to ask questions. Also I noticed you said you have accounting qualifications ,if you aren't done with your Acca you could take advantage of UCW Acca pathway. It's very possible to get into UCw without GMAT especially if you graduated from a business related program and had good grades as well as work experience. |

Osemigho: Do you want to buy land in Banana Island when you are still looking for proof of fund?
The sponsorship is not hard. Show the money and relationship to your sponsor. It is best if your sponsor is your parent Or siblings. If otherwise, provide prof of how you are related.
All the best. You can dash me a land there, I won't reject it... lol But Thank you so much, I'm grateful for your help. I will do as you have said. |

Time2soar: The offer of employment from the company is enough and you also state your time there was for unpaid internship after which you were offer employment.
You don't need personal assets for your age but your Dad finance must be very solid Thank you @Time2soar I'm really grateful... Please should I state that I have been given the employment before I leave here or I will be given the employment upon my return? And I was thinking of combining both my dad and mom. If she can be a co sponsor to support and take care of the living expenses with solid proof of source of income, so as to reduce the pressure of only him. Although he has everything in his account. Don't know if that will be helpful. |

Osemigho: One small land in the village will help for home tie, but you really don’t need it. Your age is good for your profile and application, but your sponsorship can be a problem. Village land ke Lol ...please how best can I approach this sponsorship so it can be strong at least... should I add my mother own too? Sent you a mail.thanks. |

Osemigho: Your level of proposed education, masters, is great for your age. Tighten your Dad’s sponsorship and get scholarship if possible. By tighten, I mean flex his financial capacity with as many documents as possible. Letter from your workplace is enough tie. You can add your CAC to show you plan a consulting firm or something related on arrival.
All the best. Thank you so much. I will work on adding more financial documents for my dad. But there's no scholarship for my program and my registered business is a beauty/fashion business. Started it as during my final year in the university. Don't you think I'd be contradicting myself saying I want to become a financial analyst in the financial industry and run a beauty/fashion business at the same time. I was thinking of acquiring a landed property in my name, do you think that will be helpful? And also the timing...hope it won't be too short because i plan of applying this month. |

Honestly I wish I found this forum earlier... The information here is pure gold...
But please help a sister, my gurus...
My bank statement is nothing to talk about, and I can't start funding it now... i'd be fully sponsored by my father. He has the first year tuition plus living expenses.
I'm 22 years and I finished with NYSC October last year and took up an little job more like an unpaid graduate internship in the finance department of the company. Just a little allowance which is given in cash... December last year to date. Employer is willing to provide the necessary documents and even state I would be given a higher position with an attractive salary upon my return after my masters of management- international Accounting and finance.
But won't the vo feel I'm not financially capable or not having a suitable employment back home, or have a tie back home since I can't produce my own bank statement, and I have been working for less than a year? Or should I not state that I'm working? I have a registered business with CAC but I haven't been active with it since I started working. No other documents other the CAC for the business. Should I include that too? I included it in my previous application that was denied.
*Or what other means can I prove ties... Although my boss is a family friend and If I ask him to print payslips, he'd direct the HR to give me but my bank statement won't reflect anything.
Please guys any advice would be helpful... |
