A video of a University of Calabar (UNICAL) staff flogging Post-UTME candidates that turned up for the University's entrance exam that commenced on August 5, has gone viral on social media.

A Twitter user who shared a footage from the scene of the incident blamed the chaos that ensued on "terrible organizational skill". @iamleslie_chydi tweeted;

The Lagos state police command yesterday granted music star, Tekno, administrative bail on health grounds after he was grilled for many hours for dancing with half-naked ladies in a transparent truck in the Lekki area of the state last week.

Recall that yesterday, Eskdalespot.exclusively reported about his invitation by the police.

Tekno arrived the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti Yaba, alongside the girls in the video at about midday and they were grilled by the detectives for many hours. He was later granted bail due to his health condition.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) SCIID, Mrs. Yetunde Longe, told newsmen that the singer could not be detained because of his health condition.
“Yes, we invited him for questioning, but we did not detain him because of his health. He was advised to report to the police whenever he was needed. Investigation is still ongoing.” Longe said

Tekno came under fire last week after a video showing him in a transparent truck dancing seductively with scantily dressed women along the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, surfaced online.

Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo 'Omobutty' in her advice to upcoming acts revealed that acting doesn't pay her bills.

The actress stated that there is need for a side business because the money paid for each movie role is usually not enough for most entertainers with huge responsibilities.

Advising upcoming actresses to have a legitimate side business, build quality relationships, become serious minded business women and expect less from any man, Biodun Okeowo also admitted that acting only gives recognition, access and in some cases very supportive fans.

She wrote;
Many times I have been asked if acting is what pays my bills, I'm here to tell you the truth!! It is not.
The money most of us collect is not enough to foot all our bills, especially those of us with huge responsibilities, reason some of us started paying attention to businesses years ago. That is why someone like me have done less movies and focused more on businesses that is more profitable.
Acting will give you name, recognition, often more access and in some cases very supportive fans. My advice is as you come into this industry or continue in this job, have a legitimate side business, build quality relationships, become a serious minded business woman and expect less from any man.
I have had people talk about men making women in the industry rich and I wonder what man can make you rich and help you sustain wealth like a business will do.
So my advice again, focus on yourself building legitimate businesses, all the rest will just be an addition. If you are lucky to meet a man who adds more to your wealth, all well and good, please grab it with both hands. There's nothing wrong with addition, ogun subtraction ni ka ma ri (may we not encounter subtraction IJN)...

A married man with children identified as Kula Adasu, yesterday committed suicide in the Tse Agabaragba area of the Konsisha Local Government Area in Benue State.

Adasu's body was found dangling from a tree inside the bush in the area.

According to family sources, the deceased might have committed suicide following a lingering family battle. A member of his family alleged that the deceased had been accused of killing one of their family members. Terseer Adasu. The family had decided to invite a soothsayer yesterday July 30th to reveal whoever was responsible for Terseer's death. Speculations by the family members suggest that the Adasu took his own life for fear of being exposed,

The matter has since been reported at the state police command.

One of President Buhari's witnesses at the Presidential tribunal on Tuesday July 30, denied they submitted their certificates to the Nigerian army.

Maj.-Gen. Paul Tarfa (retd.) was led in as one of President Buhari's witnesses alongside Chief of Staff (COS) Abba Kyari and Suleiman Maiadua, a retired civil servant that said he graduated with Buhari in 1961.

A highlight of Maj.-Gen. Paul Tarfa's testimony in court include denying they submitted their certificates to the Nigerian army. Confirming that their medium of instruction after being enlisted into the Nigerian army in 1962“was English language and English language alone", Tarfa also said that he and Buhari “passed the examinations in flying colours.”

He identified some of those they enlisted into the Army with as Brigadier Ola Oni, Brigadier Duro Ajayi, Col. J. C. Ojukwu, the late Brigadier Abdullahi Shelem and the late Maj. Shehu Yar’Adua.

When asked if they submitted their certificates to the Nigerian army while being cross-examined by counsel for the Independent National Electoral Commission Yunus Usman (SAN), he said nothing like that happened.

Usman: “You submitted all your school certificates to the Nigerian Army when you were enlisted?”
Tarfa: “There was nothing of such.”

Tarfa also said Buhari has authority over all military formations as commander-in-chief when cross-examined by Atiku's lead counsel Livy Uzokwu who thanked him for being truthful.

Recall that President Buhari's secondary school certificate controversy made the headlines in 2015. He was presented with a WASSCE certificate in 2018 after insisting his credentials are still with the military and swearing to an affidavit wherein he told INEC they were with the military.

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has said that the life of his daughter, Mrs. Uloma Nwosu, and other members of his family, are being threatened by close aides of his sucessor, Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

In a statement released by his Personal Assistant, Ebere Nzewuji, Okorocha accused a top Imo State government official of ordering thugs to attack Mrs. Nwosu in Owerri. He warned that the continuous attack on him and members of his family, if not checked, will lead to a total break down of law and order

They also went to the former first lady’s shop and carted away some containers. These were gift items and souvenirs she gives to first ladies and dignitaries during her annual August meeting, including items sold in her furniture shop.
These things happening in Imo State is very serious. It will lead to a total breakdown of law and order if care is not taken. We have reported to the police, even from the last incident, and we don’t think any serious action has been taken so far. Big Brother Naija housemates/lovers, Gedoni and Khafi, have been caught having sex again in the big brother house for the third time.
