Do not leave during the Bear.
If you do not want to invest, learn.
If you do not want to learn, build.
If you do not want to build, observe.
Do anything, other than leaving.
There is so much opportunity here.
Take advantage before it is too late.

Trapped in Lasco and Masard. Lasco over a year now. And no dividend this year.
I too was once trapped in LASACO. I had to sell off at a loss and moved on.

My universal insurance also up for sale..
Avoid all Insurance companies apart from

1. NEM
2. AIICO
3. MANSARD
4. LASACO
5. CUSTODIAN

Avoid all others. They lack liquidity. No matter how much gain they give you, you may never find a buyer whenever you decide to sell it.

Lol. You may have to keep Guinea in your "bad debt" acct for now, to be written off OR hopeful that maybe some day, miracle can happen. smiley
For IEI, they got buyer for it and will be buying it 100%, what a respite for the shareholders. Buying price not yet out anyway.

Hope you didn't have most of those 9 insurance stocks listed in your post ?
Aside WAPIC, Universal and Afrinsure, all others are in ICU and needed some intervention to stay alive.

As for why WAPIC didn't change to Coronation, WAPIC is also Coronation nah, just change of name......and I think maybe they left WAPIC as the name cos it's become like the trademark or something.
Just my opinion.

Even if Norrenberger buys IEI at N0.20, they still deserve an award for buying a dead company

Quite illuminating. Thank you.
Also to add, that no stock can increase or decrease in price until at least 100,000 units of its shares are traded on a single day. That is why illiquid stocks rarely increase or decrease in price.
Romance › Re: How Do I Explain To My Friend That Fifteen Year Old Girls Are Children?! by essentialone(m): 11:24am On Aug 05, 2022
meobizy:
We first met during service year. He was twenty-three at the time, and I assumed it was a one-off thing. He never showed interest in females older than fifteen years of age and was quick to approach them whenever the chance appeared. The three girlfriends he dated in two years were eighteen, eighteen and nineteen years old respectively. I saw nothing wrong there until he told me they were the ones who made moves to secure his interest. Left to him he’ll rather date girls below eighteen. We lost contact eventually.

Last year we crossed paths again. He has two children with a grown woman, though they didn’t marry. He has all the time to chase any woman he wants. Unfortunately, he’s back to chasing romantic friendships with fifteen year old girls. Them swear for this person?! His Facebook profile is littered with underaged female friends.

I’ve tried to explain to him that he will face prison time if caught in developed nations. He doesn’t care and says Naija is a different ballgame. How do I tell this almost fifty year old man that children are forbidden?
Report him to the nearest police station. Or else, if he is caught, you too would be arrested as an accomplice.

Please why is Coronation Insurance still denoted as WAPIC on the NGX Listings table?

I think the ticker should be changed to reflect the new name as Coronation Insurance.

Please look closely at the financial books and operations of these 9 firms, and see if they are really showing any signs of growth, or if they are overdue for some sort of mandatory Mergers, so as to save them from total collapse:

1. Coronation Insurance
2. Universal Insurance Company
3. Standard Alliance Insurance
4. Standard Trust Assurance
5. Niger Insurance Company
6. International Energy Insurance
7. Guinea Insurance
8. Goldlink Insurance
9. African Alliance Insurance

The Insurance sector really needs a total overhaul.

I think the ticker should be changed to reflect the new name as Coronation Insurance.

NGX's words: "Coronation Insurance Plc has not requested for their trading symbol to be changed after the company changed its name."

There is some sense in this but there are some stocks that run away from you just when you are expecting a dip. If that happens, you find that you lose you position in that stock.
Whatever that goes up and does not come down is no longer a stock. Maybe it has become a landed property. Patience is key. Give it time. It will always come down.

Why do you think it is?
I may not know how to explain the technicalities of it. But take my advice. Always sell before QD. Then buy again when the stock bottoms out. Dividend is a scam. And a trap to keep you in the stock from cycle to cycle.

Very commendable!
So also Custodian.
There are some stocks that are just stocks to be. If they dip and there's money, na to just keep buying more.......
We should however commend all dividend paying companies irrespective; despite the unfriendly economic environment, ability to make profit and declare Dividend should be commended. smiley
Dividend is a scam. Dividend is a trap. Avoid it if you can.

It will still be added but it won't be immediate like that.
The bonus will still need approval from SEC, after then it will be added to your CSCS, then you can contact your broker to add it to your trading portfolio.
wow that sounds like such a long process for bonus shares to reflect on one's portfolios

With the bargains on ground last week, you should have sold @2. Sell to key in to another stock. The coy doesn't seems serious to me.

As for McNichols, 3rd August was supposed to be payment date. Whosoever has received should pls post here.
*As for bonus, that would be later later* when they receive approval from SEC. Once it's approved, it will reflect in your CSCS statement.
Please explain the highlighted part. I was thinking the bonus shares would be added to the portfolio to increase the number of shares.

I estimated based on my snap shots at middle of Jul and today for GTCO. Genesis Emerging seem to to have GTCO in three funds in Jul and by August 2nd had only in two funds with about 200m units gone. If you look at sum of total shares held by funds, it shows GTCO also dropped by about this amount of units held by all the funds. From about 1.75b to 1.55b units. One with full access will have more clues. But this is fair enough for me to understand why so much trade in GTCO compared to Zenith in the month of July.
Please what website is this snapshot?
