Sports / Peter Rufai Is Critically Ill In Hospital.. He Needs Our Prayers by EssienEmmanuel(m): 1:23pm On Oct 16, 2012
Ex Super Eagles goalie Peter Rufai is in the hospital now as I speak and doctors are battling to save his life.

The former Eagles goal keeper slumped in his office yesterday night and was immediately rushed to Toki Hospital in Surulere.

Peter Rufai younger brother, Bruce Rufai said Peter has been taken the death of their mother (Christiana) pretty badly since she died last week.

In a phone conversation with a journalist (names withheld), Bruce said:

"We have a situation on our hands, your friend, my brother Peter Rufai just suddenly slumped at the office.
"We rushed him to Toki Hospital Off Adeniran Ogunsanya where he is now.
The doctors are doing everything possible though he is not really around yet and they don't know yet what the real cause of the slump is."

Losing a mother is a tough thing to bear, I pray Peter Rufai survives this.
Let's say a quick prayer for him...... (bows head) cry

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Unbelievable: Thierry Henry And Bojan Krkic Once Had A Thing For Each Other by EssienEmmanuel(m): 9:02am On Oct 16, 2012
Now, I must confess when I heard this, I was shocked and couldn't believe my hears.

Thierry Henry and Bojan Krkic had a thing for each other... http://www.itisagoal.com can reveal.

The duo spent some seasons together at F.C Barcelona under former Boss Pep Guardiola and while Barca had the best of seasons ever, Henry and Bojan had the best of relationship ever known to footballing history.

I had my guys working underground on this and what they came up with very detailed and accurate pictures of the two doing their thing.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Jack Wilshere Makes First Appearance In 14 Months For Arsenal U21 Team by EssienEmmanuel(m): 5:17pm On Oct 01, 2012
Good news for y'all Arsenal Fans... Jack Wilshere has finally kissed goodbye to his injury woes.

Yes.. you heard me right, the England International finally made his first appearance in 14 months for the Arsenal U21 TEam in a match played against the West Brom U21 team.

Wilshere suffered an injury last season and that made him miss a whole lot of games including the EURO 2012 Championship.

As good as this sounds, you all shouldn't expect him to join up with the first team so soon as Gunners boss Arsene Wewnger has insisted he won't rush the young lad back into the team.

Here are some pictures from the game.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Epl: Liverpool 0 - Arsenal 2 - The Match In Pictures by EssienEmmanuel(m): 4:33pm On Sep 02, 2012
Lucas Podolski and Santi Cazorla combined to deadly effect as Arsenal got their first league win of the season.
The Gunners looked to have sorted out their differences as they started the match lively.

Gunners fans only had to wait for 31 minutes as Arsenal got a wonderful goal from German international. Steven Gerrard lost the ball in midfield and Arsenal went on the counter; with some neat passes, the ball landed to Cazorla who made a blistering run into the Liverpool's defence before picking out Podolski with a wonderful pass. The summer signing wasted no time as he cooly slotted the ball into the back of the net to give Arsenal a one goal lead.

The German International turned provider in the 68th minutes as his pass found Santi Cazorla at the edge of the Liverpool box. The Spanish star man went for goal and his shot went through the hands of Pepe Reina. 0-2 to Arsenal.

Oliver Giroud was very wasteful in the Gunners attack and would have been happy to see his side record a win despite his wastefulness.

#Phew!!!!!The Transfer window... is finally over.
I must confess I had to stay up all night to update all the transfer that took place in the EPL before the window closed.

Even though it was really tiring, I really enjoyed listening and getting all the updates right on my laptop.

Tottenham and Manchester City are known for sealing late deals and they were at it again yesterday. For me, I will say Man City got the best buy of all teams in the EPL. (I stand to be corrected).

Unfortunately, I can't give you all the pictures and signings all at once because the image space on this forum is limited to only four entries. But I promise to update it regularly for you until I reach the last EPL team available.
You can get the full list at once at http://www.itisagoal.com/transfer-gists-all-the-transfers-that-took-place-in-the-epl/ or u can just wait till I am through updating. grin (They are in alphabetical order)

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Berbatov Joins Fulham- Pictures And Interview by EssienEmmanuel(m): 4:31pm On Aug 31, 2012
Bulagarian International Dimitar Berbatov has joined Fulham from Manchester United.

The Bulgarian has signed a two year deal with the Fulham club after a transfer fee of £5 million was agreed.

The Bulgarian International had this to say concerning the move:
“I am delighted to have signed for Fulham and I look forward to playing under Martin Jol once again.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Andy Carroll Joins West Ham On Loan - Pictures And Interview by EssienEmmanuel(m): 10:10pm On Aug 30, 2012
Liverpool misfit Andy Carroll has made a shock loan move to Liverpool.... http://www.itisagoal.com can authoritatively tell you.
The England striker failed to impress during his time with the Reds and has been sent down on loan to West Ham United in a bid to revive his career and to find more playing time.

West Ham United have the option of making the deal permanent if they manage to avoid relegation next season.
An excited Andy Carroll had this to say:

“It’s great to be here at West Ham and all signed up- I just can’t wait to get started now.
“I want to be playing games and obviously hoping to score some goals. I know the manager well and some of the lads, so it’s nice for me to come to a place where I know people.
“I am hoping to add a lot of goals and create a few chances. I know Sam from Newcastle and he was a massive reason for me coming. When I worked with him at Newcastle, it was great so it was a no-brainer really.”

Sam Allardyce, the West Ham manager may not have won the confidence of the club's fans due to his boring style of football but hopes the signing of the Lanky striker can pass a message to the fans that he is here to help them succeed.
Here's what he had to say about the star's signing:

“I think for all parties, this is a great signing. Andy is an all round footballer, but because he is 6’3′ and one of his strengths is his aerial power, everybody dismisses the ability he possesses on the floor.
“Hopefully, he can score goals for us and we will be in a very good position at the end of the year in the Barclays Premier League.

Andy Carroll will be earning an £80,000 per week in wages with the Hammers and they have also paid in £1.5million loan fee to Liverpool for his services.
If West Ham decide to make the signing permanent, they will need to fuel out £18 million to Liverpool.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Video: Once Upon A Time, Victor Valdes Did Hate Goalkeeping by EssienEmmanuel(m): 5:00pm On Aug 28, 2012
F.C Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has been criticized heavily of recent following his blunder for Barcelona in their Spanish Supercup first leg win over Real Madrid some days ago.

The goalkeeper failed to properly deal with a back pass and allowed Di Maria to score an opportunist goal that gave the Whites hope for the return leg.

Well, what can I say? Most of you will agree with me that the Spanish third choice goalie has really come of age shey? Do you remember some seasons back when every back pass was a calamity waiting to happen? He has since worked on himself and that has yielded results.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Louka Modric Unveiled As A Real Madrid Player - Photos And Interview by EssienEmmanuel(m): 6:27pm On Aug 27, 2012
Luka Modric has finally completed his dream move to Real madrid...itisagoal.com can exclusively tell you.
The Croatian midfielder has signed a 5 year deal with the Spanish Champions and the deal is believed to be in the region of £33 million. Tottenham hostpurs chairman Daniel Levy won't be too pleased with the sum agreed because he was holding out for a possible £35 million + for his best player.

The Croatian International was pleased to join the club and showed that in his unveiling ceremony.
Here's what he had to say:

“I am very happy, honored and proud to be at the biggest and best club in the world, I’m very excited, Modric started.
“I chose the Spanish league because it is one of the best leagues in the world. And I chose Madrid because they are best club in the world. They’ve won so many things, so many titles, it’s amazing for me to be here.
“When I heard that Madrid noticed me, the rest lost interest.
“This is the best club in the world, with the best coach, the best players. Christiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria, Gonzalo Higuain, Mesut Ozil, Xabi Alonso- I look forward to playing with them.
“I am ready for anything, and I have come here today to win a place in the starting team. I know that will be hard, but I believe I have the qualities needed to play here. I want to help the team win titles.

Sports / Presenting... Europe's Newest Deadly Strike Force by EssienEmmanuel(m): 11:57pm On Aug 16, 2012
Manchester United's assemblage of Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck, Dimitar Berbatov and Robin Van Persie could be the best thing that could ever happen to English Football for years to come.

The English Premier League club added Robin Van Persie to their ranks to further add to their striking options and soccer lovers around the globe have been making comments about the wave these strike force might make if they are used effectively.

#ok. So F.C Barcelona once had their own "FANTASTIC FOUR" consisting of Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldinho and they lived up to their name.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Robin Van Persie Is Now A Machester United Player by EssienEmmanuel(m): 8:55pm On Aug 15, 2012
Manchester United have done the unthinkable again this season as they have added one of Europe's best striker to their ranks - ROBIN VAN PERISE.

The Gunners have agreed with the Manchester club over a £20 million deal for their captain.
Van Persie announced to the world after the European Championship competition that he won't be signing a contract extension with the London club because he feels club manager Arsene Wenger doesn't share in his aspirations for the club.

Hurt by that statement and already feeling threatened, Arsenal immediately sought mediums to appease the Dutch Man by signing top players from top clubs around the world. Players like Podolski, Giroud, Cazorla and a host of others were brought in and at a point it looked as though Van Persie might turn back on his words and sign a contract with them.

Arsenal were in for the biggest surprise of their lives when Manchester United and a host of other clubs came knocking for their 20+ goals a season striker. MANCHESTER City, Juventus were the big names expected to snap up this player.

Juventus backed down, Manchester City also did and this left the door open to Manchester United to pounce. Arsene Wenger times without number reiterated his decision that the club won't be selling their best striker.

But like you all know, when Manchester United need something, they get it notwithstanding who or what the condition maybe like. The snapped up the player for £20 million.

Manchester United website read:
"Manchester United is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Arsenal for the transfer of Robin Van Persie.
"The deal is subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms. A further announcement will be made in due course.

Arsenal have been dealt yet another blow in their bid to win a major trophy for the first time in 5 years.
Sometimes ago, they lost Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City, season's later, it was Samir Nasri to the same Manchester City, and just last season, Fabregas to Barcelona.

Please have you heard of any businessman that made progress after he kept losing money year in, year out?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: 4 Reasons Why Manchester City Might Retain The English Premier League Title - by EssienEmmanuel(m): 3:09am On Aug 14, 2012
The only thing I like about Manchester United this season, is their away Jersey. grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / 4 Reasons Why Manchester City Might Retain The English Premier League Title - by EssienEmmanuel(m): 1:36am On Aug 14, 2012
Manchester City continued off from where they stopped last season; beating all before them in grand style before wining the league in the most unbelievable fashion in football history.
However, this time London Club Chelsea "the blues" were the scape goats and Manchester City really took time off to teach them a footballing lesson. Yes, I know the term "footballing lesson" won't go down well with some of you considering the 3-2 scores of the match but if you really had time to see that match, you will understand that City are the team to beat this start of the new season and if other clubs are not careful, they will get seriously whipped by this title hungry team.

I asked the same question on my website's facebook fanpage http://www.facebook.com/itisagoal some days back and the response I got was so overwhelming. Many tipped Manchester United to win the title, some tipped Chelsea; others Liverpool (some even chose Arsenal!!! Can you imagine?) No offense to the gunners fans but I think this is just not your season yet, maybe another time.

While the debate still continues (you can rush over there and also share your thoughts) I want to give and try to convince you BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT why I think Manchester City will retain their English Premier League title this season.

1). PROVE TO THE WORLD THEY ARE REAL CHAMPIONS
The first thing on the mind of all City players, manager and coaching staffs right now is to prove to the world that their winning the EPL wasn't a fluke.
City will want to prove to the world that they are really worthy winners and that their winning it last season was not based on luck. It was the continuous hard-work, persistence, self belief, and the never-say-die attitude they had in them.

They will want to prove to everyone out there especially their Neighbors Manchester United that there has been an shift in power and they have really come to stay.
Those of you who have achieved success over the years will know what I am talking about ( you know that feeling when you need to prove yourself to people that you are not a failure). Well that's what will push city on.

2). SILENT TRANSFER MARKET ACTIVITY
While this is supposed to be a let down for all City fans and to the club, it will really work to their advantage.
Did you hear me right? Of course you did!!!

Remember the successful Barcelona team of today? How did they achieve all their recent successes? They added little players to their squad and instead allowed the team grow in understanding and made them blend together as a team.
Lionel Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Fabregas but to mention a few have been playing together for the past 4 years with the latter joining just two seasons ago. The end result? Well I don't think I need to remind you of all the trophies they have accumulated for themselves in the past years.

If Manchester City are treading on that part, then the sky is just their starting point. Leaving the likes of Aguero, Yaya Toure, Silva, Carlos Tevez, Milner and co to play together for years and also adding very few players to their midst will prove very advantageous in the nearest future; they will blend together as a team and will achieve unimaginable success.

3). PASSION TO WIN
Was I the only one that saw the F.A Community Shield Match between Chelsea and Manchester City?
Was I the only one that could see the hunger and passion to succeed written all over the faces of those city players?
Was I the only one that was so surprised seeing them play a Charity Fund Raiser Match like a League Cup Final?
Was I the only one that saw them Celebrate each goal as though they had won a lottery?

If you watched that match with me, then you'll agree with me that this City guys are really in for a good ride this season.
You do not put in that kind of performance and get nothing in return unless you are under a spell.

4). DISCIPLINE
When you talk of discipline, you talk of Jose Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson, Roberto Mancini.. to mention a few of them.
These Club Managers do not care whether or you have the best footballing skills in life or whether you can score a thousand goals in a game, ONCE you have an attitude problem, then you know you will rot on the bench.

What would make Roberto Mancini bench a player like Mario Ballotelli when he knows the input that guy brings to the team or turn deaf ears to Carlos Tevez goal scoring feats for City and still go ahead with his decision of leaving him out of the squad for a while when he refused to warm up and go in as a substitute during that UEFA Champions League match against Bayer Munich? DISCIPLINE!!

When you have a coach or manager like this as a player, you know you can't afford to make unnecessary mistakes and will have to pocket in your ego.
Well if you do not know what I am talking about, then go ask Mario Ballotelli how he managed to land himself on City's Substitute bench.

Ask top coaches out there what it means to bench your top/best players for an offence they committed and they'll tell you what they faced from the fans, the board and the media in general.

Was it not our very own Samson Siasia that tried doing it when he used Aiyenugba instead of Enyeama in a Nations Cup crucial qualifying match? (he was disciplining Enyeama for something he did wrong but his actions misfired as the same Aiyenugba caused lots of havoc for Nigerians that day leading to the sack of Samson Siasia).

When there is no discipline in a place, people behave like retarded animals... the solution?
DISCIPLINE THE LIFE OUTTA THEM JAARE. angry

WHO AGREES WITH ME ON THIS?

If he scores 3 goals in game, we call it a hat trick and speak highly of him...
Lionel Messi scored four goals in a single match during the UEFA Champions league match against Bayer Leverkusen and people just couldn't stop speaking well of him.

What will we now say of this amazing footballer that scored a whopping 16 goals in a single match?
Yes you heard me right!!

In 1942, during a cup match, Stephan Stanis of France scored a total of 16 goals.
His team Racing Club De Lens won the game and this wonderful player provided 16 of the goals scored.

Funny enough, people thought that record was one that would be unbroken for years.
Just four years ago, Panagiotis Pontikos of Olympos Xylofagou the same feat on May 8, 2008 against SEK Ayios Athanasios F.C

Unbelievable right? shocked

Male Footballers are very handsome people and one thing they know is that after stressing themselves out on the pitch; they need to get the best home treatment they can possibly get.
They went for the kill and got very beautiful goddesses as wives.
Imagine getting home from work after a hectic day to get a nice (that thing that married people do na lipsrsealed) from your wife... lolz, you know you will surely live long.

Sports / Ryan Giggs Is From Africa by EssienEmmanuel(m): 11:49am On Jul 24, 2012
Welsh and Manchester United's midfielder Ryan Giggs is from Africa!!!!
As funny as this story might sound, it is very true.

His real name is Wilson and he is part African.
His father Danny Wilson, was a half welsh, half Sierra Leone Rugby player who
used to play for Wales.

Giggs took up his mother's maiden name when his parents split up
and since he has been known as Ryan Giggs.

lolzzzzzzz.... Ryan Gigss or Wilson Giggs
which do you like?

I prefer the whole name joined together Ryan Wilson Giggs. grin
