e author=Ebubu3 post=125369208]it’s how to find importers who I can export these items to is the problem
note, it should not be grown in a water logged area... Anything September 10th, stop planting...best soil is sandy loam... And it should not be water logged |
Ebubu3:let me tell u something... Even if u have 2000 bags, I know who can buy everything without u looking for an exporter... the market is developed |
It is second to cocoa in terms of export value. In fact 90% of the sesame seed produced in the country is exported abroad. The reason for the popularity of sesame seeds is due to its numerous health and industrial benefits. Also, the seed has a higher oil content compared to other oilseed crops. |
Ebubu3:Currently, there are 26 sesame-growing states in Nigeria; some of these include Ebonyi, Delta, Jigawa, Bauchi, Nassarawa, Benue and Taraba. The market for sesame seeds is quite vast with Japan and China as the major importers of these seeds. Countries like Turkey, India, Poland and Netherlands have also traded with Nigeria in the past. |
Ebubu3:thanks for the question... Apart from being eaten raw, sesame oil can be used for so many things... Eg the oil in sardine. It is one of the most lucrative farming now. |
Sesame can be eaten raw, or processed for it's oil... many people do not know that oil in sardine is sesame oil, it contains magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron etc...it is very good for skin and hair health.... Follow this thread as I update us on my daily progress.... Agriculture is life...no food, no nation. |
We are using 3 litres of glyphosate per hectare, sesame doesn't require much fertilizer application, which makes it very financial friendly...but it's major problem is hervesting..as it easily shatter when u waste time. |
quote author=Ebubu3 post=125368694]where is the market ?
in Ajaka igalamela local government... I bought 2 bags at 300k... The demand is very high, as marketers even go as far as giving loans to farmers... On the agreement that after hervesting, u sell to them directly. |
Already germinating section...two weeks old

This is Lona Farms Limited sesame section, we are working on 20 hectare, and the target is 0.5 tonne per hectare... A bag of sesame in kogi state goes for 150k during off season, and 120k during season. 10kg of sesame is required per hectare for planting, we are using broadcasting method. The sesame seed will be treated with Cypermetrin before broadcasting, to prevent ant picking, and it will be mixed with 20kg of sharp sand before broadcasting for even distribution.

Social democratic party ( SDP) governorship candidate in the November 11th election Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, visited lokoja today, as part of his campaign. Everywhere was blocked, chocked and crowded as thousands of people came out to welcome the governorship hopeful. Kogi Murida...Sai Muri... Sai dole.

No be only all sdp chairmen.... my brother na sdp chairman for ankpa LGA o.... I never see am for picture o.... below just dey try breathe... november 11 na em una go know say igalas no get joy...save this.... Sai Muriquote author=DTaj post=125031956]I have read some very simplistic analyses of the Kogi election, largely by people who do not have any knowledge about the undercurrents, beyond whatever they read in the newspapers! APC's Ododo WILL LIKELY WIN THE ELECTION, on the following bases: 1. Yahaya Bello, the smart politician that he is, picked an Igala man, who is also the current Chairman of Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) as Ododo's running mate. The man he chose is well loved by teachers and civil servants and anyone who knows Kogi State well enough would know that the decision was a political master-stroke! 2. APC also deliberately picked someone from the Central Senatorial District, Ododo, as candidate, with a view to guaranteeing an uninterrupted 16-year tenure for that District, because should it go to Kogi East in November 2023, other two Senatorial Districts might not get near Lugard House in the next 50 years! 3. Leke Abejide, the House of Representative member representing a large chunk of Okun (Yoruba-speaking) part of Kogi State, has won his elections back-to-back on the ticket of a small party called ADC. His philanthropic gestures, including purchase of SUVs for almost ALL graded traditional rulers in his Federal Constituency, scholarships, free school buses, etc, etc had endeared him to many Kogites, especially in the Yoruba-speaking areas. He will take significant votes from Dino's so-called vote bank! 4. Every other major party picked an Igala man or woman (in Dino's case) as running mate. This would mean that this disunity among the Igala would lead to needless share of votes among the major parties, which favours APC. 5. Muritala Ajaka of SDP, an Igala man, would, ordinarily have been a formidable opponent of Ododo's APC. However, feelers out there suggest that his Igala peeple have NOT queued behind him because of the many running mates across other parties. The consensus meeting that was convened by Igala elites failed to endorse Ajaka; hence every candidate was told to go and test their popularity at the polls. This is a disadvantage to Ajaka. 6. I read the very simplistic opinion, where one Nairalander, simply allocated votes to each candidate on the basis of their local governments; hence awarding Ajaka victory! Politicis do not go that way! In Kwara State's 2023 Governorship election, PDP's candidate, Yaman Abdullahi, LOST ALL HIS ENTIRE SENATORIAL DISTRICT, INCLUDING HIS HOME TOWN AND HOME LOCAL GOVERNMENT! His own people- from Kwara North- voted an Ilorin man, the current Governor. Politics is about negotiation and deal-making; it is not necessarily clear-cut for tribal games. 7. Yahaya Bello's decision to build a magnificent church in Government House (Lugard House) has been a game-changer regarding his hold on Kogi politics. Only yesterday, the CAN Chairman of Kogi State, publicly held a press conference, with ALL members of Kogi CAN Executive Committee, and said that they will vote APC's Ododo, because they preferred continuity and because Yahaya Bello was not only the first Governor to build a church in Government House, a thing he accused ALL former Governors, who were Igalals, of refusing to do; he also said that it was under Yahaya Bello that Christians have had the highest number of Jerusalem pilgrims sponsored by Kogi State Government. Owing to the fact that political choices are NOT ALWAYS RATIONAL, religion takes a major place in Nigerian elections. 8. Being an off-season election, the odds favour APC's Ododo, who would ride on the back of a very tough politician, Yahaya Bello. in terms of logistics, funding, mobilization, etc. Only yesterday, ALL Zonal and Local Government chairmen of Ajaka's SDP defected to APC.
|

[ 1. What hypothesis are you testing? 2. What questions area you asking? And what answers do you expect? 3. What is your experimental design to carry it out? And for data collections? 4. What is your methodology to eliminate variation due to chance in the yield of 4kg of seedco 612?(we call it replications), how many 4kgs of maize plots did you have? To allow for comparison of mean yields? 5. Does the yield of 4kg of seedco 612 speak for the yields of other varieties? 6. Didn't seedco tell you how many kg of 612 (20_25kg) is needed to plant 1ha and expected yield range in tons or number of 100kg bags/ha?7. If these data/information are already provided by seedco Agronomists, why is this your charlatanry/ quackery necessary? 8. You should deduce how many 100kg bags your 4kg planting materials can give from seedco labels. 8. And who told you the best Agronomic practice for maize planting density is 2seeds/hole @ 25cmx75cm?
thanks for the questions... I've learnt alot from ur questions also... I'm just learning. |
