Family / Re: My Husband Is/was Cheating And I Am At Point Of Cheating On Him by Eteo: 8:18am On May 19, 2016
OP,

Carry out ur friend's advise at ur own peril. She will be the one to inform ur husband...even if she doesn't, so u can open ur two eyes and let ur friend lead u to doom...what is marriage? Marriage is a union of two forgivers...pls forgive ur husband, he has apologised, to err is human, to admit that one has erred is super- human, to.forgive is divine...work on ur marriage and save ur marriage...the grass is not greener on the other side ooo...or u think that the new man u re abt to Bleep will not Bleep anyone else apart from u Abeg wake up from ur slumber

Don't repay evil with evil...God is involved in ur marriage and He is watching u...the Bible says that all things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial...pls don't defile ur body, rem d vows u took to keep ur body exclusively for ur husband till death...

Last line: stop that friendship wt that woman. The bible says that bad company corrupts good morals. She is bad influence, believe me. Surround urself wt women of virtue who will encourage u to be good!

Shalom!!!

Travel / Re: 10 Things I Learnt About Cross River State During My Service Year by Eteo: 6:02am On Mar 28, 2016
Op, reading ur post reminded me of the story of the six blind men who went to visit an elephant and each described d elephant based on d part of the elephants body that was touched.

When u mentioned d meals in cross river, I didn't see Afang soup, edikang ikong soup, abak (banga) soup, afia efere (white soup) , ekpang nkukwo, coconut rice, fisherman soup....these are the real deal in cross river. kindly go back to Calabar, (not Ishibori or Obudu or Akamkpa) and sample all these meals that I have mentioned ; and then come and open a rejoinder thread.

No 7 is fallacious...Calabar girls are the real deal. Calabar girls are extremely neat, Atam(northern cross riverians) girls are far from neat, not in appearance o, I mean go to their homes, watch them organise.

The best Atam cook will not willingly enter a competition wt an average calabar cook.

Calabar girls are mostly reserved and restricted children, soft spoken and well versed in pampering a man, Atam girls are mostly promiscuous, sharp tongued and are yet to learn d skills of making their man feel like a king. Oh! The atam men sef dream of marrying a calabar girl.

Calabar people generally are well educated, due to their early encounter wt d missionaries...so when OP said the pple are lacking behind in terms of education, it is erroneous. King Eyamba the 5th some centuries ago wrote to the whites to " come and teach our people how to read book and how to know God" he went on to say how " plenty sugar cane live here" and went on to implore the white men to come and teach us what to process out of sugar cane ( please Google King Eyamba the fifth)
Calabar has recorded a lot of firsts in Nigeria (Google is ur friend).

Let me take a pause here...

Go for lady A...her strong points overwhelm her weak points...intelligent, prayerful, speaks well, communicates well , virgin etc...the weak points are things she can work on,,,she can learn how to cook, scattered room may just be a phase cos she is engrossed in reading her books, I bet if she s not, she wl be more tidy...in any case OP, rich men hire chefs and house keepers ,so pray for riches...lol

kasay:
I find it absurd when people ignorantly hype Duke as the best Governor. Incidentally, I am not just from the same state with Duke, but I was very close to his administration. Duke is the biggest con-man in Africa, he was the most deadly governor with the most dangerous killer squad led by a school mate of mine that later turned himself into a blood-thirsty professional assassin.
Duke ensured that key opposition figures where all murdered including his own estranged deputy(John Okpa) and a well respected reverend father in calabar. All Duke's projects were either white elephant or designed to profit him directly. He borrowed money to fund Tinapa and ended up owning 50% of Tinapa. He sold all Cross River assets to himself(we had to go to court to recover some of the assets). Duke left cross river with a debt burden of over a 100billiin as at 2007. He was a serial and professional 419 artist in surulere before manipulating his way into office as Governor. Obj declined making him VP because of his criminal past, certificates forgery and theft of LG funds as well as other related negative security reports on him. I'm not a fan of GEJ, but GEJ is a saint compared to Duke. He is infinitely crafty, cheeky, criminal-minded and deceitful. He is against GEJ and Yar'Adua because he didn't get the ministerial position he was angling for throughout these men's administration. Believe Donald Etim Duke, and you will believe anything.

This is soooooo true...beneath the handsome exterior laid a very criminal and deadly minded personality...the blood of the first ever Efik priest, Rev Fr Michael Offiong, who was murdered for innocently translating a Latin certificate, will continue to cast a spell of darkness on d masterminder of that act...and yes civil servants suffered immensely during his reign.

To think that she comes from a popular family in calabar, tho am convinced al them Solomon girls are a spoilt and over pampered bunch. I rem how cute this girl was in FGGC Calabar, so tey she contested for Miss Hacas but now see as she worwor, shagging a fugly married man and getting pregnant sef and shamelessly going to have d baby. I really wonder what story she wl tell d child.

Family / Re: Please Save Me From Myself, My Husband Cheated On Me, I Tried To Kill Myself by Eteo: 11:59am On Jun 04, 2015
Pls dear, sorry for d hurt. I know exactly how u feel. Don't u ever contemplate suicide for any reason whatsoever, u did not give urself life, u shouldn't take ur life. If u r successful in carrying out d suicide, u won't make heaven. For me, my most important goal in this life is to make heaven, don't let ur husband or anybody make u willfully miss heaven.

#2) you mentioned how ur parents tried for u...and u didn't even consider the trauma they wl go thru were u successful in d suicide attempt. That one person who loves u disappointed u does not mean that u wl turn ur back on the plenty other people who truly love u, like ur kids, ur parents, ur siblings, ur relatives....these are pple who can NEVER have a replacement of u in their lives. #FOODFORTHOUGHT. yes ur hubby can replace u by re-marrying but ur kids will never have another mother, nor ur parents or siblings be able to replace u.

Am taking time to dwell on why you should never contemplate suicide because ur hubby may pipe low for a while, only to resume cheating on u again.

#3) Draw closer to God, read ur bible seriously, read christian books and literature, attend church evening programmes, make up ur mind to dwell in the house of the Lord and serve God wt all ur might.
Then, draw ur husband close to God too, subtly and lovingly. It is only the holy spirit that can change a man. You keep praying for him, and pray against strange women in ur marriage. With the help of the Holy spirit, the carnality in him can be conquered...such that he won't even contemplate cheating.

4 don't repay him by cheating no matter how angry u get. Find other ways to vent ur anger, don't even bottle it. You made a vow before God to be faithful to this man, fear God and keep ur vow. It's not about him, it's about God, it's about ur love for God...such that not even ur hubby can tamper wt ur love for God...

I pray that God meets u at the points of ur need and heal u of every hurt and make you whole again. SHALOM!

Education / Re: A Thread For All Prospective\New Postgraduate. Students Of NOUN by Eteo: 11:20am On Mar 18, 2015
[quote author=BornSad post=31701435]
Hello, good morning.
First of all, it is a basic requirement that one must have the minimum credits needed to secure and undergraduate admission into the field he wants to go for masters. To be clearer, since you want to go for Masters in Public Administration, you should ensure you have the minimum number of credits needed to gain admission as undergraduate student assuming you were going for your first degree in Public Admin.
Second requirement states that your first degree must be related to your choice of Masters or you'll be required to go for PGD in a related field first. Now, I am a science student so I wouldn't know how related your previous degrees are to your prospective field if interest. Another thing that could make you go for PGD first is if your CGP were not up the minimum required in your first degree.
Finally, I suggest you visit a study centre for clarifications from your prospective school of study as regards how related the fields in question are before registering online. Though, other options will be available for you with your degrees.
There is nothing like a fulltime or part time program. It is an OPEN university and therefore maintains its own unique approach to university education.
The program is extremely flexible, you have a minimum of two semesters but depending on the number of courses per semester, this could be extended.
Yes, there are PHD programs as well.
Far from being vexed. I open the thread, remember.
Regards.[/quot

Thank you so very much!

Thanks for opening this thread.

I have been considering getting a masters degree from NOUN. You said something about being sure of qualifications before applying so one s 7k doesn't waste...please I want to do MPA and I I have a degree in agricultural economics and a PGD in economics. Both with CGP above 3.5, please do u think I stand a chance?

Do they have a full time and part time programmes?

How long does the programme last?

Will one be required to write a thesis?

Are there PHD programmes as well?

Abeg no vex for the plenty questions...help a sister out.

Religion / Re: Pastors Owning Private Jets Is An Embarrassment – Bishop Mathew Kukah by Eteo: 9:37am On Nov 19, 2012
teeo: There is no substance in Kukahs statement, churchs today are blessed because the bible contains secrets to living a life of affluence here on earth and after life in heaven.
Why is it that people always want to assume that the church is poor. The church and its members are not poor. God keeps blessing his people.
Poverty is a state of life also
wealth is another state. Those of us who pay our tithe are blessed and can also be a blessing.
If the money used to buy the jet is not your fathers own then shut up.

Christianity in its simplest definition is being Christ-like. This Christ i've read about was not cut out for a flamboyant or ostentatious lifestyle...when he had to make His triumphant entry,He didnt even have a donkey to ride on, He had to borrow a donkey to ride on...when the youngman went to him and asked wat he could do to gain eternal life n Jesús listed some things for him n he said he had been doing those all his life and d Bible records that Jesus looked at him and loved him n said go and sell all ur riches, and the young man left very sàd for he was a man of great wealth...Jesús knew the effects of wealth on the physical man and said "it is easier for a camel to pass thru the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God"...Christ of course knew who he was and said " I am a King but My kingdom is not of this world".

Some of us christians av made our kingdom of dis world.
Even the prophets of old were not into accumulutaing or acquiring wealth...and outrightly rejected gifts, an example is Prophet Elisha who outrightly rejected gifts(2Kings 5:16) from d big boy Naaman...Do we still av Prophet Elishas 2day
