Now on USO, as I type this, it is trading at an all time low of $2.40. Consequently, the fund just decided it has halted, saying it will change structure again as ETF is struggling to avoid collapse.
This is a result of the collapse of WTI to an unprecedent low in US history.

I would advise you stay action on USO for now and continue to monitor the developments until you see a concrete reason WTI is back on recovery path before you strike.

There will surely be a recovery but when that will happen is unknown just yet, so better to be safe first.

Indeed, the market would make a recovery but it would take some time reach their previous resistance before the virus.

USO, just as you've said needs to be monitored. However, inverse ETF are the gainers in times as this. Owning to the fact that the increase when crude oil prices drop. Such as DTO and SCO, it had to be halted several times today. But I won't go in for long term on such ETFs except JIJO.

The US market is awash with thousands of companies.
One needs to be very careful to double-check the full names of companies we are investing in.
Most recently, many investors in US mistook the ticker symbol ZOOM for ZM and were unknowingly investing in a moribund company until the authorities had to delist it.

Reason I always indicate ticker symbols in every "STOCK FOCUS" in this forum.

I can only imagine their feelings when they realize.

The US government has agreed to provide airlines with $25 billion in bail out funds.
70% of the money will be grants that do not need to be paid back! The deal is that the airlines that agree to the deal will not lay off employees until at least September.

We had discussed airlines on this forum where I stated how they shall be good to pick up just before covid-19 is over. The time for them to flourish is still far but this news will attract some quick gains.
Amongst those on my watch list are:
American Airlines - AAL ($11.07)
Delta Airlines - DAL ( $22.78)
United Airlines - UAL ( $28.21)
South West Airlines - LUV ( $30.68)

Watch how they gain today based on this news.
N/B: This is not a buy or sell recommendation.

Nice pointer, although I bought few shares of AAL when it sold at $9, just as you've said due diligence. Despite the $25B released as bail out for the airlines which would be duly shared amongst them, it's worthy of note to mention the debt situation on ground. As most of the airplanes acquired by AAL were the Boeing 737 Max which got grounded due to their crash issues, this burnt their hands making them incur long term debts amounting to AAL: $21.5B, DAL: 8.9B, UAL: 13.1B, LUV: $1.8B.
It's a high risk game here, however it comes with rewards.
Caveat: Not a recommendation. Do your due diligence.
