WebmastersRe: Quality Assurance And Software Testing by Etin(op): 9:56am On Sep 24, 2007
@ my2cents

Thanks for your response and sorry I didn't get back sooner. Web Testing has branched to other areas which may not traditionally have been included in testing. As a Test Analyst myself, I am aware that it is not possible for testing to solve everything but good stress testing should reveal to you the breaking point of any web site testing.

Serious organisations should know how many users their site can handle and have in place a procedure to manage crisis or overload. Monitoring websites after they go live for failures or defacement are now part of quality assurance.

My question is, what is the point of monitoring if no process has been put in place to handle unexpected load? I'd like to refer you to an article which lists some of the processes that could have been put in place to manage the situation better at Northern Rock. What do you think?

Hi All,

Thanks for all the useful information. Has anyone used African Select - www.africanselect.com they claim to be able to help you buy shares in the African stock markets. I opened an account with them placed my order and and tried to contact them, neither the USA telephone number nor the email went through.
I also had an issue with the terms of the Cashcraft account included in their package. It seems to imply that I sign up to a credit arrangement that allows them buy share to the tune of 50% of my portfolio value and I had to pay for the cost within 30days at their stipulated interest rate. To that equated to compound credit = compounding debt. Was I being paranoid ?

Hello All, I have been on this forum for a while now and noticed that a lot is said about programming and web site development and little or nothing is said about testing. Any Testers or Quality Assurance people in the house? Let get together and contribute and increase the awareness of testing. Just a snippet - If all your customers visited your site within 10mins how would it cope? Northern Rock's website could not cope - would yours ?

"Mothers are more faithful than wives.
Wives sell to the highest bidders.
Infact, if you did not pay for her, you would not have married her.
Because, every wife has a price." - Orikinla

How very profound! am I wrong to assume that being a wife is usually the first step to becoming a Mum in most decent societies. A lot of Mums are wives as well so can we then deduce from your comment that mothers are guilty too of being unfaithful, and selling to the highest bidder? In getting emotional about ones Mum never forget she was some man's wife first

I am a wife and a Mum and this question should not arise the roles are different and unique and should be enriching to the man who has both its not a competition between either . They are both vital at different stages of your life one in the early stages and the other in the later stages.
