Politics / Which Third Party Issued Tinubu's Replacement Certificates? by Etiyeokwe: 1:07pm On Oct 06, 2023
Since a Third Party can issue replacement certificates, I have been trying to hear the name of the Third Party that issued President Tinubu's CSU replacement certificate.

Before a Third Party can issue an Institution's replacement certificate, it must have links with that Institution.

Hahahahakikikiki

It's disheartening to see the political landscape in Zamfara marred by allegations of bribery attempts and impeachment discussions. These actions not only undermine the democratic process but also erode public trust in the political system. Both the PDP and APC should prioritize the well-being of the state, Nigeria and its citizens over political power struggles.

Interestingly, while accusations fly between the major parties, it's worth noting that some individuals and factions from various parties, including the LP (Igbo Party), have been involved in corrupt practices. The LP, in particular, often presents itself as a party with a clean slate but has been known to engage in corrupt activities behind the scenes.

Nigeria deserves leadership that focuses on development, security, and the people's welfare. Let's hope for transparency, fair governance, and a commitment to the state's progress, regardless of party affiliations. Ultimately, the citizens' interests should remain at the forefront of political activities

I waited to see whether you would conclude without mentioning LP and the Igbos. I was not disappointed.

Travel / Re: My Experience With Loneliness After Canada Migration by Etiyeokwe: 2:41pm On Feb 17, 2023
Confusedgirlie:
Before I left Canada for Nigeria in 2020, I had heard severally that it was very lonely there for Nigerian immigrants. I didn't quite understand what people meant exactly when they said this. However, over time I now have a very good understanding of this particular challenge with migration. Here are some of the things I've learnt on the way. But first, a little background about me.

I'm an introvert and I like my introversion. It gives me a lot of time to think and to be in my own space which I enjoy a lot. I read, write and love to watch documentaries. Those are the three most important things to me in life. When I lived in Nigeria, I lived a mostly secluded life that didn't have a lot of people in it. Regardless, it wasn't boring to me. I went out when I wanted to and took my time for my own activities.

Since being in Canada, my observations have been that it is a lot lonelier here. The reasons are very obvious: there are not a lot of people around me from a culture I'm familiar with (Nigeria), so it's definitely a lot more difficult to interact with others. That's one key point. Another is that I don't really have to go out to purchase things (even groceries), compared to when I was in Nigeria. I can simply order everything I need while sitting in the comfort of my home. Hence, the temptation is to go this way. In addition, I don't have family around, so I'm mostly by myself. And finally, the few friends I have are often busy, so there's hardly time to get together.

That's about it. I think these are some of the challenges Nigerian immigrants face. But the real question is, do I feel lonely?

The honest answer to that is a No. I find that my life is exactly the same way I lived it in Nigeria, only a lot more convenient and comfortable. I can't trade this for anything. In addition, as an introvert who likes to be by herself anyways, it's just a lot more enjoyable.

Nevertheless, there are steps I'm planning to take to change a few things. I am now taking more opportunities to actually go out and buy things even if I don't have to, e.g groceries, clothes, etc. Secondly, I say hello first to strangers and neighbours and get to ask them a few questions. This I wouldn't have done on the first place. Finally, I downloaded a social media application called clubhouse and have been making new friends in my area using this. As a cautious person, I'm taking baby steps here and not jumping straight into friendships I may not like.

Overall, what do I think of being in Canada as an introvert? I enjoy it. My life and choices are a lot better and I find that I have the time to do much more than I was doing back in Nigeria, not hampered by lack of power or resources.

My advice to others is to gauge their expectations carefully as they come to Canada with or without family. It can be lonely here, but that's not because Canada itself is lonely. It's just because you need to dig deep and find yourself in a new country where family is absent and culture is unfamiliar.

It should be "before you left Nigeria for Canada." Meanwhile, this is the main reason you want to bring that young man over to Canada, so you can use him to ease off.

Nawa o. Some people have issues. What's wrong with a mother calling her children on daily basis?

My mother calls me on daily basis even when there's no something serious to discuss. Same way she calls others.

In fact she has a strategy of ensuring that the four of us keep in touch with one another. She will call one person, after talking with him, she will tell the person to call the other and tell him to call ber. Same goes round.

Most of the people who gave weird responses here are unmarried.

Mother's love is golden.

All the people listed are still with Tinubu, including Ambode because na Tinubu built them. Hence this loud mouth should shut up.

Heck, Ambode knew he was the one who fvcked up. Look at Sanwo Olu almost completing not just one but two light railway for Lagos whereas Ambode neglected the one he was left with. But see Sanwo Olu completing two mega railway. It was Ambode who deviated from the plan.

Meanwhile, I'm seeing same hatefilled souls from the sad east who are obsessed with Tinubu didn't rule them or their papa in their southeast region nor their President. They won't face their leaders in the southeast but will be crying over Tinubu who didn't rule them or their papa. If you hatefilled souls don't leave Tinubu alone, you will die a miserable death! He didn't rule you or your papa.

Who built Tinubu? Illiteracy remains the greatest bane of the Nigerian society.

Politics / Anambra State Government Rejects Financial Appeal By The Law Students by Etiyeokwe: 9:02am On Aug 16, 2022
The body which is known as the National Association of Anambra Law School Students, delivered a letter titled ‘APPEAL FOR EDUCATION SUPPORT (BURSARY)' to the office of the state Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, on the 24th of May, 2022. The letter, which was delivered by delegates from the Students’ body was warmly received by the Chief of staff. The delegates subsequently had meetings with the Commissioner for education, Commissioner for justice, Attorney general of the state and Secretary to the state government, at different dates and times.
According to the contents of the letter, it stated that the appeal became necessary following financial difficulties which posed threats to most of the students in their academic pursuits.
Law school is expensive. It poses threat to the average Nigerian, and because of this, some students have resorted to their state governments for assistance.
Yobe state government gave a cash of N500,000 ( five hundred thousand naira) only and a brand new Lenovo laptop to each of their law school students. Enugu state government doled out N16m for 160 law school students who are indigenes of Enugu state. Other States are, Sokoto, Boronu, Delta, Rivers, etc.
Currently, there are more than 250 law school students from Anambra state, who are undergoing one year programme across the six Nigerian law schools. The implication of this is that, at the end of 2022, Anambra state will be producing more than 250 Barristers and Solicitors.
Unfortunately, after several meetings, the appeal was turned down on the ground that the state is facing security challenges, and that such appeal is not in its priority.
In sane countries, students, especially those in the postgraduate studies, have access to grants which enable them pursue their careers with ease. But in Nigeria, it’s the opposite. Education is relegated to the background.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Russia Gives Ukrainian Troops At Azovstal steel plant 4pm Today To Surrender by Etiyeokwe: 3:27pm On Apr 19, 2022
Kingsnairaland:
EU fell right into US trap!
The Ukrainian crisis has nothing to do with Ukraine. It’s about Germany and, in particular, a pipeline that connects Germany to Russia called Nord Stream 2. Washington sees the pipeline as a threat to its primacy in Europe and has tried to sabotage the project at every turn. Even so, Nord Stream has pushed ahead and is now fully-operational and ready-to-go. Once German regulators provide the final certification, the gas deliveries will begin. German homeowners and businesses will have a reliable source of clean and inexpensive energy while Russia will see a significant boost to their gas revenues. It’s a win-win situation for both parties.

The US Foreign Policy establishment is not happy about these developments. They don’t want Germany to become more dependent on Russian gas because commerce builds trust and trust leads to the expansion of trade. As relations grow warmer, more trade barriers are lifted, regulations are eased, travel and tourism increase, and a new security architecture evolves. In a world where Germany and Russia are friends and trading partners, there is no need for US military bases, no need for expensive US-made weapons and missile systems, and no need for NATO. There’s also no need to transact energy deals in US Dollars or to stockpile US Treasuries to balance accounts. Transactions between business partners can be conducted in their own currencies which is bound to precipitate a sharp decline in the value of the dollar and a dramatic shift in economic power. This is why the Biden administration opposes Nord Stream. It’s not just a pipeline, it’s a window into the future; a future in which Europe and Asia are drawn closer together into a massive free trade zone that increases their mutual power and prosperity while leaving the US on the outside looking in. Warmer relations between Germany and Russia signal an end to the “unipolar” world order the US has overseen for the last 75 years. A German-Russo alliance threatens to hasten the decline of the Superpower that is presently inching closer to the abyss. This is why Washington is determined to do everything it can to sabotage Nord Stream and keep Germany within its orbit. It’s a matter of survival.

That’s where Ukraine comes into the picture. Ukraine is Washington’s ‘weapon of choice’ for torpedoing Nord Stream and putting a wedge between Germany and Russia. The strategy is taken from page one of the US Foreign Policy Handbook under the rubric: Divide and Rule. Washington needs to create the perception that Russia poses a security threat to Europe. That’s the goal. They need to show that Putin is a bloodthirsty aggressor with a hair-trigger temper who cannot be trusted. To that end, the media has been given the assignment of reiterating over and over again, “Russia is planning to invade Ukraine.” What’s left unsaid is that Russia has not invaded any country since the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and that the US has invaded or toppled regimes in more than 50 countries in the same period of time, and that the US maintains over 800 military bases in countries around the world. None of this is reported by the media, instead the focus is on “evil Putin” who has amassed an estimated 100,000 troops along the Ukrainian border threatening to plunge all of Europe into another bloody war.

All of the hysterical war propaganda is created with the intention of manufacturing a crisis that can be used to isolate, demonize and, ultimately, splinter Russia into smaller units. The real target, however, is not Russia, but Germany. Check out this excerpt from an article by Michael Hudson at The Unz Review:

“The only way left for U.S. diplomats to block European purchases is to goad Russia into a military response and then claim that avenging this response outweighs any purely national economic interest. As hawkish Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, explained in a State Department press briefing on January 27: “If Russia invades Ukraine one way or another Nord Stream 2 will not move forward.” (“America’s Real Adversaries Are Its European and Other Allies”, The Unz Review)

There it is in black and white. The Biden team wants to “goad Russia into a military response” in order to sabotage NordStream. That implies there will be some kind of provocation designed to induce Putin to send his troops across the border to defend the ethnic Russians in the eastern part of the country. If Putin takes the bait, the response would be swift and harsh. The media will excoriate the action as a threat to all of Europe while leaders around the world will denounce Putin as the “new Hitler”. This is Washington’s strategy in a nutshell, and the whole production is being orchestrated with one goal in mind; to make it politically impossible for the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to wave NordStream through the final approval process. Hi

Beautiful write-up but made no sense.
