Health workers, excluding medical doctors, under the aegis of the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and Assembly of Healthcare Professional Association (AHPA) have petitioned President Muhammad Buhari over lope-sided appointments in the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) even as they among other things asked for urgent balance in appointments in the interest of peace. The health workers in a letter to Buhari jointly signed by Chairman JOHESU, Comrade Jay Josiah, and Chairman APHA, Dr. Godswill C. Okara, titled “Appraising Appointments In The Federal Ministry Of Health” noted: “… While Nigeria appears to be on course for a great future, we are worried that the ever-boiling Health Sector appears to be headed for more heated discourse especially against the background of recent appointments in the leadership strata of the Federal Ministry of Health. “… Your Excellency, the appointment of two Medical Doctors as Ministers in Charge of the Federal Ministry of Health equaled the precedence of former President Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR, which unfortunately catalyzed unprecedented dislocation of the component elements of the Health Sector in that dispensation. “The only ameliorating balm in that discourse (the Old Jonathan Order) was that the Permanent Secretary in Charge of the Federal Ministry of Health were always administrators or non-care providers. Today even that has been taken away because the new Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health is also a traditional strong advocate of the interests of only her Medical Doctor colleagues from her time as a Permanent Secretary in the office of the Head of Service of the Federation. “To compound the woes of all other health workers apart from Doctors which we represent, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity which ordinarily should arbitrate over our welfare demands which the hegemony of Doctors over-bearing leadership truncates at the Federal Ministry of Health is now being headed by yet another Medical Doctor, Dr. Chris Ngige. The obvious fallout of this dangerous but unprecedented structure against the professional destinies of all health workers apart from Doctors can be summarized in the reflected phraseology-calamitous future expectations. “For a Health Sector where Doctors hitherto reduced a supposed Federal Ministry of Health to a Ministry of Doctor to now be officially and legitimized as home to only Doctors who constitute less than 5% of the workforce at the detriment of the majority of over 95% in our humble opinion Your Excellency, appears to epitomise neglects of the feelings of the gross majority of health workers and will aggravate the volatility in the sector instead of abating it.” The health workers alleged that the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) is already reaping the expected fruits of the whirlwind of benevolent appointments. Thet wrote: “On Friday, November 13, 2015 the Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Issac Adewole visited the NMA Secretariat in Abuja where he met both the Nigeria Medical Association President, Dr. Kayode Obembe and National Assocaition of Resident Doctors (NARD) President, Dr. Muhammed Askira.” JOHESU and AHPA alleged that the Minister of Health was reported to have assured his colleagues to be patient as he would actualize these demands, which included: *Preservation of the status quo ante in the unskewed appointments in board constitution and membership of the 55 Federal Health Institutions. *Imposing the Yayale Ahmed Panel report, which only the NMA favours in the Health Sector. This is at a time other health workers are challenging and infact seeking quashing of this report at the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN). Today we are aware the Health Minister and Labour Minister are raising legal teams to join forces against us at the NICN. *Implementing the agenda of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) through the National Health Act. The Federal Ministry of Health has already set up committees and structures made up exclusively of only Doctors as usual. *Imposing relativity/skipping for Doctors on the Federal Health Institutions even when other health professionals who got National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) judgments in their favour since 2010 have not been paid by some Chief Medical Director (CMDs) in the Federal Health Institutions (FHIs). *Exclusive overseas training for Medical Doctors through improved residency programmes. *Designing new welfare schemes for Corper Doctors. *Introduction of pension and gratuity for Resident Doctors *Perfecting domination of Doctors in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) *Payment of Doctor-University Lecturers with the Consolidated Medical Salary Scale (CONMESS) and privileges. *Recognition of Doctor’s Postgraduate Fellowship over Ph.D in their careers as academics. |

Former minister of Niger Delta affairs, Godsday Orubebe, was on Monday, November 9, spotted at a Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in Abuja, where he is facing a four-count charge on money laundering. Premium Times reports that the trial took a dramatic turn after the prosecution counsel failed to produce witnesses against Orubebe. Elder Godsday Orubebe appears in court on Monday, November 9, 2015, over money laundering charges. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, who is more popular for disrupting the announcement of the 2015 presidential election winner, has been in the news recently over the money laundering allegations. Ibraheem Al-hassan, head of press and public relations of the CCT, had confirmed that a charge was pending against Orubebe before the tribunal, revealing also that on Thursday, October 29, the summons was served on Orubebe. The former minister has since denied the allegations, stating that he is being unnecessary framed by the present administration because of his huge support for ousted president, Goodluck Jonathan. Orubebe also denied ever demanding or collecting bribe throughout his six-year sojourn as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, adding that he was convinced that the CCT was out to frame him given the way it had already begun his ‘trial’ in the media when he had only been served with the summons to appear before the court on November 9, 2015. Photo: NAN According to Vanguard reports, Justice Danladi Umar, the chairman of the Tribunal ordered Orubebe to enter the accused box immediately he entered the courtroom at about 10.43am. Peter Danladi of the CCB filed the four-count charge on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) on October 8, 2015. The counts include: “That you, Godsday Peter Orubebe, while being a Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria in charge of Niger Delta Affairs, on or about June 29th 2011 did make a false declaration in your asset declaration form by failing to declare plot 2722 Kyamu District Abuja on assumption of office on 26th September 2007 and on leaving office (at the end of your tenure), on June 29, 2011 and you thereby committed an offence under section 15 of Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act Cap C15 and as incorporated under paragraph 11(1) & (2) of Part 1, Fifth Schedule to the Constitution and punishable under section 23(2) of the CCB & T Act. “That you Godsday Peter Orubebe, while being a Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria in charge of Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, on or about June 29, 2011 did make a false declaration in your asset declaration form by failing to declare plot 2059 Asokoro district, Abuja on assumption of office on September 26, 2007 and on June 29, 2011 and you thereby committed an offence under section 15 of the CCB & T Act, and punishable under section 23 (2) of the CCB & T Act. “That you Godsday Peter Orubebe while being a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in charge of Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs on or about September 19, 2012 asked for and accepted the sum of fifty million naira from one Pastor (Dr) Jonathan Alota, as bribe for the contract awarded in favour of his company, Chemtronics Nigeria Limited and you thereby committed an offence contrary to section 10 of the CCB & T Act, and punishable under Section 23 (2) of CCB & T Act. Godsday Orubebe and his lead counsel, Seleke Owei Larry (SAN), after the adjournment of the case in Abuja earlier today. Photo: NAN “That you Godsday Orubebe, while being a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in charge of Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, on or about 2013 asked for and accepted the sum of twenty million naira from one Pastor (Dr.) Jonathan Alota as additional bribe for the contract awarded in favour of his company Chemtronics Nigeria Limited for the construction of skill acquisition Centre at Edo State for the sum of one billion seven hundred and ninety nine million, nine hundred and fourteen thousand two hundred and fifty naira eighty eight kobo only (N1,799,914,251.88K) and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 10 of CCB & T Act.” And after Orubebe had pleaded not guilty to all the charges, Ibrahim Usman, the counsel to the prosecution, told the court that he would like to request an adjournment since his witnesses were not in court while the defence counsel, Selekeowe Larry, asked the tribunal to demand a statement of necessary evidences, according to rule 5 subsection 1, of the rules of the tribunal. But Danladi said the matter for determination at the court was not for the prosecution counsel to state the evidence but for them to produce the said witnesses to do so, and frowned at the inability of the counsel’s team to produce same. Mr Larry further request to have Orubebe released on bail was not granted, as the presiding judge said the court had no reason to discuss his arrest or bail, as he (Orubebe) was expected to always appear before the court. He therefore adjourned the matter till November 26 for a definite hearing. |
frakdon:The only way u can be able to check that out is to ask major labouratories around u and find out which is less expensive and yet meticulous... testimonies from people wud help u make decision most times |

Emdee590:ORAL REHYDRATING DRIP IS ORAL REHYDRATING DRIP..any where any day, but I think they have made an improvement to the one be sold now, dey now add zinc tablet in the pack It is not different.. |
eddie7:Ask them for a diclofenac spray, I dont wat to tell u any brand name, just ask dem for a pain relieving spray and also look for a muscle relaxant...with time u wud be well and able again. Good luck |
Contumely:Lol...u are correct on that. But the study is actually zinc supplement taken for a long period of time which wud decrease the amount of copper in the body.the study is inconclusive on that aspect, as to weda dey wud be an interaction or not, but wat I wud advise is to only take for a short period, but wen the benefit outweigh the risk, and there is a just knowledgeable cause to take dietry zinc for a long time...I wud gladly oblige. |
Contumely:This does not sound like a question I wud answer but for the sake of others going tru let me do justice to it. The major difference between immunace and astyfer wud majorly be sorted out from the content in each of them. Immunace contains - zinc, selenuim, vitamim d3, E, C, A . They are indicated for the normal functioning of the immune system and help in cell protection. While astyfer contains - 1. Glycine- they help in the heam formation.dat helps to carry oxygen and red blood cel. Histidine- indicated to boost manufacture for red and white blood cell. Lysine - indicated for the formation of blood protein like globulim protien.. astyfer as it is popularly called, it is a blood builder while immunace offer immunity and protection |
Contumely:Look for any brand called IMMUNACE, that is a good product that wud have all those elements listed here.. u cud look for a good pharmacy near u to ask for those and dey wud be more than glad to help u out |
Kenett:Ur MCS test u did, I wud say it is inconclusive cos the baseline treatment and recommended sampling drugs as certified by WHO was nt cultured with the organism. I wud strongly advise to disregard this test and do another one for the benefit of ur health... thank u |
