Politics / The MOVIE - CHIBOK Season 1. by evanscheck(m): 1:01pm On May 24, 2017
Some things don’t just gel.
Let’s start from Genesis and enter present Revealation.
(1) Remember the Principal of Chibok school? Her 2 daughters who were part of the WAEC candidates were not kidnapped. How/why? Today, the Principal is a Commissioner in Borno; reward or merit?
(2) Remember the BBOG coordinators (Oby & Hadiza Usman). The BBOG swore not to eat/drink/sleep until ‘’ALL’’ Chibok girls are freed. That was during the last administration. Today, Hadiza Usman is the MD of NPA after serving as Senior SA to El-Rufai. Reward or merit?
(3) 270? Girls were moved in one single operation in a heavily guarded/patrolled zone. Just imagine that number being moved anywhere in the SS or SE where there is no war. No interception, no alarm, no nothing. Hmmm
(4) Girls who are preparing to write WAEC cannot speak even pidgin English. We hope we have not started writing Physics and the sciences in Hausa language.
(5) The girls are curiously released sometime in May or October when people want to ask question on the score card of the regime. And other times when there is/are serious question mark on the performance of the saints. Mere coincidence.
(6) The released girls look much refreshed, clean, chubby and happy compared to ‘’free’’ girls in the hunger-stricken North. Obviously, it is better for NE girls to live in BH captivity.
(7) BH gave out accurate statistics/measurement to FG to purchase those fine clothes ahead of their release; or BH is so benevolent to dress them so sharp and so clean. We have seen pictures of victims released by their captors in other climes and how well the dress and how good they look.
(cool The girls were told were within certain age bracket, but the pictures we are being entertained with indicate big mama. Hope, they are not special breed.
(9) The first twenty something released since last year are yet to be identified by Chibok community and none have spoken to independent media. Clap for Nigeria for being over-protective.
(10) The girls are national property of the Presidency and will have no access to their family, not even the Chibok community is allowed to share in the joy of their return.
Please who is coordinating this movie

Politics / UK Court Awards James Ibori £1 For Unlawful Detention by evanscheck(m): 10:40am On May 24, 2017
The former governor of Delta state has been compensated for his unlawful detention by a court in United Kingdom

- Ibori was awarded £1 as compensation for his detention in UK

- The former governor who ought to be released on December 20, 2016, but was held by the immigration service for two days

The former governor of Delta state has been compensated for his unlawful detention by a court in United Kingdom.

BBC reports that Ibori was awarded £1 (N408) as compensation for his detention in UK.

NAIJ.com gathered that the former governor who ought to be released on December 20, 2016, but was held by the immigration service for two days.

The judge, Justice Cheema-Grubb, ruled that Ibori was unlawfully held for a day, 18 hours and 10 minutes after was supposed to be released.

The former governor of Delta state has been compensated for his unlawful detention by a court in United Kingdom
Although the former governor had demanded £4,000 as damages, the judge said: “There is no compensatory loss to Mr Ibori and I fix nominal damages at £1."

The court said the decision by the immigration to detain him was probably in an attempt to recover at least £57m from the former governor.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that Ibori was convicted by a court in UK for fraud and money laundering during his tenure as the governor of Delta state.

Ibori returned to Nigeria on Saturday, February 4, after serving a 13 year jail term for fraud in the UK.
Health / Unprecedented HIV Vaccine Breakthrough As Researchers Discover ‘on-off Switch’ by evanscheck(m): 11:29pm On May 22, 2017
Researchers have discovered how to generate an ‘on-off’ switch in a form of HIV HIV needs a specific amino acid to replicate so researchers replaced the code that does this with a ‘nonsense’ version that halts amino acid production When the supply of amino acids stopped, so did the replication This technique gave the team control over the virus’s replication A breakthrough has occurred in the fight against HIV, new research reveals. Scientists say they’ve engineered an ‘on-off switch’ into a weakened form of HIV, enhancing the safety and effectiveness of a potential vaccine for the virus.

They say this could be the final necessary step to eradicate the disease that’s killed 35 million people since the beginning of the epidemic in the 1980s. Vaccinologists often prefer exposing the body to weakened viruses, rather than deactivated ones, because they grant stronger and longer-lasting immunity. But weakened viruses retain the ability to replicate, meaning that they still pose a risk of becoming full-blown pathogens. Researchers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln began addressing this issue in 2014, when they genetically engineered a version of HIV that needs a synthetic amino acid – one not found in the body – to replicate.
Doing so required the team to replace a codon that codes for the amino acid in the HIV’s genetic code. Each codon instructs an amino acid to connect to a chain that becomes a protein and ultimately allows viral replication. The team swapped out one of these codons for a ‘nonsense’ version that instead signals a stop in the amino-acid assembly line, halting production of the proteins essential for replication. When the team supplied the synthetic amino acid, the assembly line began churning out proteins, and the virus began replicating. When the supply of amino acids stopped, so did the replication.

This technique gave the team control over the HIV’s replication. And by delivering a consistent supply of amino acids, the team showed that it can kick-start the multiple cycles of replication necessary for an effective vaccine. ‘Safety is always our biggest concern,’ said Dr Wei Niu, an associate professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering. ‘In this case, [it means] we’re one step closer to generating a vaccine.’ Other research teams have managed to generate HIV immunity in organisms, with one vaccine protecting 95 percent of rhesus monkeys against the virus. Many of these vaccines have relied on deleting HIV genes to limit replication, but the virus’ penchant for mutating can help it overcome this defense and replicate unchecked.

Dr Qingsheng Li, a professor of biological sciences, said the team’s combination of a nonsense codon, genetic switch and synthetic amino acid represents an especially rigid set of safeguards against unchecked replication. ‘That’s the big milestone,’ said Dr Li. ‘If that works well, we need to go to the pre-clinical animal model before going to a clinical trial. That’s our goal and road map.
Politics / Aisha Yesufu Calls For President Buhari's Impeachment by evanscheck(m): 9:34pm On May 19, 2017
Her words: "For crying out loud, the president is sick, the president is not capable of discharging his duties as president, why can’t he resign?

"Sickness can be on anybody, nobody is wishing the president bad. The fact that he is sick doesn’t mean he is going to die today or tomorrow. Somebody that is as healthy as I am now can drop dead. It is life!

"How long are we going to wait and keep watching everything go in disarray. Who is going to sign the budget, we don’t know. The report on Babachir, what is happening to it? Why are we being held to ransom?"

In a direct speech to the president, Yesufu said: "President Muhammadu Buhari, you have gotten the best in this world. A lot of things that you have, most people cannot even dream of.

"You have being president twice, you said it yourself, you have reached the peak of your career as a military man and as a politician.

"Can you allow each and every one of us as Nigerians be able to reach the peak of our careers? Can you just take some time off, take care of yourself. May God give you good health."

She then called on Nigerians to "wake up", adding that the acting president can’t do anything because he wants to be seen as a good man.

"We need to take our country back, let the president resign, if he can’t resign, let the National Assembly do the right thing and let’s have another president. It is not about President Buhari, it’s about Nigeria, and right now Nigeria is suffering and we cannot continue to allow this," she concluded.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned against any attempt at unseating President Buhari, via a coup.

Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, spokesman of the APC, stated this while reacting to Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Burutai’s warning, that some politicians were approaching soldiers.
Politics / Didn’t Give Late Adeleke Drug Overdose(full Story) – Nurse Read More At: Http:/ by evanscheck(m): 12:01am On May 19, 2017
Mr Alfred Aderibigbe, the nurse who treated Sen. Isiaka Adeleke before he died, on Thursday in Osogbo told a coroner inquest that he never administered a drug overdose on the late politician as was reported. Aderibigbe, while giving evidence before the coroner, Chief Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara, said all the drugs he administered on the late first civilian governor of Osun were in normal dosage. He also told the coroner that he had been treating the late senator in the last 15 years, adding that the drugs he administered on Adeleke the day he died were those the late politician gave to him. Aderibigbe said: “The senator gave me his drugs which he brought from Lagos to keep on the evening of Monday, April 17, with the understanding that when he wants to take them, he will call me to bring them. “On Sunday, April 23, at about 4 am, I was, however, woken up by two men from the senator who banged on my gate and later informed me that the senator had been calling my phone and that I was not picking my calls

They said the senator needed me to come and treat him and that I should bring his drugs along. “ I later went inside to get them and also found the calls I missed on my phone. “I called the senator but his friend, one Dipo Fagborode, picked his call. “ As he was explaining what was going on, the senator himself collected the phone and asked me to come quickly that he was having serious knee pains. “When I got to the senator’s house, he asked for his drugs and gave me his prescription which contained the dose I was to administer on him. “The drugs which the senator kept with me that was to be administered on him were Analgin injection, Diazepam injection, photroine injection and hydrocortisone. “ But the senator said I should not give him hydrocortisone because when he took it in Lagos, he had headache and was also vomiting. “So the other drugs was what I gave him and they were in the right dosage. “ Even when the prescription said he should be given 20mg of diazepam, I had to limit it to 10mg because I discovered he had taken some oral pain painkillers. “The two other injections I gave him were in the right proportion too– 50mg of Analgin and 1mg of photroine. “ I waited for him to sleep and finish the drip/water I had already placed him on before I took my leave around 7:30 am. “The reason I took my leave was to inform my church because the day was a Sunday and I would not be able to teach the Sunday class. “ I returned back to the Adeleke residence by 9:30 am. “Before I left, I had told the senator’s friend, who was with me throughout the treatment, to watch over him.
When I returned, I found the senator in the sleeping position I left him, and on closer observation, his heart rate had dropped and his pulse was faint. “I quickly gave him cardiac massage and called on his friend, Dipo, to assist me and when the situation was beyond my control, I raised an alarm and he was quickly rushed to Biket hospital. “By the time we got him to Biket hospital, the CMD, Dr Adebisi Adenle, examined his body and pronounced him “Brought in Dead.” He asked his friend what happen and he was told that the deceased complained of knee joint pain (gout) and that I gave him some treatment. “The doctor now asked me what drugs I administered on the deceased and I told him. “ He then said it was the normal drug treatment for gout. “ But as the empty containers and the previous drugs the deceased had taken were brought to the hospital on the doctor’s request, lies broke out that he died of overdose. “The lies were generated by the crowd that had gathered at the hospital because Sen. Adeleke’s campaign bus and his Escalade were used to convey him to the hospital. “ As they drove against traffic, people got the hint that he was in trouble and gathered to find out more. Aderibigbe said after the incident, he was arrested by the police and detained till May 2 before he was granted bail. He said since he was granted bail, he had not returned to work or his house in Ede, having been placed under protective custody. Aderibigbe lamented that he had now been accused of killing Adeleke while his wife and children had fled from the family home. In earlier testimonies before the coroner, the Chief Medical Director of Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Prof. Akeem Lasisi, said Adeleke died of drug overdose. The Consultant Pathologist, who carried out the autopsy on Adeleke’s corpse, Dr Taiwo Sholaja, also claimed that he died of drug overdose. The coroner’s sitting was later adjourned till Friday.

Politics / Itsekiri Group Tasks EFCC On Missing Community Fund Probe Read More At: Http:// by evanscheck(m): 11:52pm On May 18, 2017
Itsekiri Integrity Crusaders, IIC, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to speed up the investigation of some elders of Koko community in Warri-North Local Government Area, Delta State, over alleged missing N567million community funds. Those under investigation by the anti- graft body were alleged to have fraudulently diverted the money to their personal accounts. In a statement by Mr. Amos Oritsemi, President of IIC, the group claimed that the Port Harcourt zone of the anti-graft body had made significant progress into the investigation of the missing funds through records of bank transactions obtained from the bank as well as confessional statements made by the branch bank manager and a banking officer at the Koko branch of a new generation bank. According to the statement, the branch manager who had since been granted conditional bail confessed to have assisted some of the elders carry out the illegal transfer from the reserve account without the confirmatory signatories of the chairman and secretary of Koko Community Management Authority that were needed for the bank to have honoured any withdrawal from the said account.

Politics / Dont Be Fooled by evanscheck(m): 10:34pm On May 18, 2017
Someone said if your father was not in Minna on friday for IBB daughter's wedding, you are just a tenant in Nigeria.
The landlords gathered to wine and dine.
Twenty six private jets and four police and air force aircraft landed in Minna on Friday... the Abuja-Minna road isn't motorable. Another person argued it doesn't matter. It was a class thing and it is rare seeing a JSS1 boy play ludo with someone writing UTME.
Someone also wondered why suicide bombers ignored these enemies of Nigeria and decided to attack University of Maiduguri, a citadel of learning where dreams are being built and nurtured.
Someone somewhere close to the wedding venue said he strained his eyes looking for the leaking PDP umbrella and the tiny APC broom yesterday and had to go home disappointed when he saw all of them hugging and smiling without talking about their parties.
Someone faraway in Abeokuta decided to analyze their sitting positions and nearly ended up in the hospital. His blood pressure rose.
Another one, a popular PDP apologist in Enugu, broke down in tears yesterday. He saw 'Bola Tinubu, the man behind his hero's political and electoral fate who still lambasted him days ago in Lagos, seated beside Goodluck Jonathan smiling sheepishly to the cameras.
Someone, an unrepentant APC loyalist, saw Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Markafi stand together. He had always prayed for the total collapse of PDP. He couldn't eat yesternight anyway.
Someone watched Channels Television news and saw Governor Ganduje and his sworn enemy Kwankwaso seated inches apart. He is still praying to God to wake him from his nightmare.
Another one made sure he followed the news on radio waiting for any divisive religious matter to be raised only to hear voices of Bukola Saraki, a muslim, and Yakubu Dogara, a christian, screaming for those expensive wines. He is still changing stations with hopes.
Someone checked online media outlets yesternight and saw pictures of Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, Igbos all under one roof with their different tribal wears. There was no tribal statement. No tribal war. He broke the screen of his phone.
Here we are.
Continue defending these people who have divided you along religious, ethnic and tribal lines.
Continue with your gullibilty.
Continue with your nonsense.
Just open ur eyes and brain ..
Politics / What Is The Sin Of The South East by evanscheck(m): 10:23pm On May 18, 2017
The APC led Federal Government of Nigeria is requesting 6.4 billion dollar Loan from China to build new railways from Lagos to Kano, Lagos to Calabar, Kaduna to Kano and upgrade that of Lagos to Ibadan. But the South East region is conspicuously excluded from the plan which is expected to grow the economy of the benefiting regions.
Every Nigerian knows that Aba and Onitsha cities are competing with Lagos in trade and investment in the country, and are even better than Kano, Kaduna or any other state in this regard. Yet, when the government sets a plan to grow the economy, South East is not mentioned.

The worst, most dubious and obnoxious aspect of this arrangement is that the ignored and marginalized South East States are gazetted to be part of the loan refunding scheme. And one wonders what atrocity the region has committed to warrant this treatment.

Here is the time for all South East Senators and House of Reps members to stand up and be counted. They should make sure that the intended loan does not go through unless South East is captured in the scheme.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe must be commended for raising the consciousness of ndi Igbos and indeed all Nigerians to this evil before it is executed by President Buhari and his cohorts. However, more effort is required to stop the present anti-Igbo administration.

Perhaps, it is now time for the APC change government in Nigeria to tell the world in clear terms what are the sins of the South East geopolitical zone of the country.

Politics / Who Are The Real Robber by evanscheck(m): 8:56pm On May 18, 2017
During a robbery in Guangzhou, China, the bank robber shouted to everyone in the bank: "Don't move. The money belongs to the State. Your life belongs to you."

Everyone in the bank laid down quietly. This is called "Mind Changing Concept” Changing the conventional way of thinking.

When a lady lay on the table provocatively, the robber shouted at her: "Please be civilized! This is a robbery and not a rape!"

This is called "Being Professional” Focus only on what you are trained to do!

When the bank robbers returned home, the younger robber (MBA-trained) told the older robber (who has only completed Year 6 in primary school): "Big brother, let's count how much we got."

The older robber rebutted and said: "You are very stupid. There is so much money it will take us a long time to count. Tonight, the TV news will tell us how much we robbed from the bank!"

This is called "Experience.” Nowadays, experience is more important than paper qualifications!

After the robbers had left, the bank manager told the bank supervisor to call the police quickly. But the supervisor said to him: "Wait! Let us take out $10 million from the bank for ourselves and add it to the $70 million that we have previously embezzled from the bank”.

This is called "Swim with the tide.” Converting an unfavorable situation to your advantage!

The supervisor says: "It will be good if there is a robbery every month."

This is called "Killing Boredom.” Personal Happiness is more important than your job.

The next day, the TV news reported that $100 million was taken from the bank. The robbers counted and counted and counted, but they could only count $20 million. The robbers were very angry and complained: "We risked our lives and only took $20 million. The bank manager took $80 million with a snap of his fingers. It looks like it is better to be educated than to be a thief!"

This is called "Knowledge is worth as much as gold!"

The bank manager was smiling and happy because his losses in the share market are now covered by this robbery.

This is called "Seizing the opportunity.” Daring to take risks!

So who are the real robbers here?

Politics / Okowa Visits Community Attacked By Suspected Herdsmen by evanscheck(m): 5:24pm On May 16, 2017
The Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has visited the people of Osissa community in Ndokwa, east Local Government Area, following the alleged herdsmen attacks that killed seven people in the state.

The governor who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police, Zanna Mohammed Abubakar, meet with the community to see how the government can proffer solutions to their plight.

Members of the community used the opportunity to call on the government to take proactive steps to check the menace of the herdsmen because they no longer feel safe to go to their farms and that has led to low productivity and famine

The governor also called on the communities to be proactive, assuring that any herdsmen caught with dangerous weapons or perceived to be a threat to Deltans would face the laws of the land.

He, however, promised to deploy, a detachment of police officers to help checkmate the menace of the herdsmen, a solution which appears not to have gone down well with the people which resulted in a rowdy and rather provocative gathering

The peace of Delta State in recent times has been disturbed by the alleged killings of herdsmen with frequent clashes between herdsmen and farmers in Delta state which appear to have become a huge challenge.

Though these clashes between herdsmen and farmers has been termed as a national issue the state government here has reiterated the fact that the Federal Government must come up with policies to checkmate activities of herdsmen and put a stop to this menace once and for all

Politics / DEFECTION: Chime On His Own by evanscheck(m): 1:36am On May 13, 2017
The spate of speculations over the political future of immediate past governor of Enugu state, Sullivan Iheanacho Chime, came to an end last Saturday when he registered for the ruling All Progressives Congress. At the Udi/Agbudu ward office of the party in Enugu state, he was issued the party’s membership card number 00669001, ending his association with the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party on which platform he rose to become the state governor. Later that evening, in front of party faithful ferried from far and near, including nearby states of Benue, Anambra and Ebonyi, to witness the defection of the state’s former helmsman, he declared that his mission in the APC was to return Enugu to the mainstream of national politic
For the APC, Chime was obviously a big catch. For the party that already has the likes of Chief Jim Nwobodo, former Senate President Ken Nnamani and former Speaker of the State Assembly, Eugene Odoh in the bag, the battle for take-over of the eastern heartland has started in earnest. However, the event has raised an uncommon uproar in Enugu state, and particularly among Chime’s kinsmen in Udi Local Government Area who claimed that his action was indeed, a betrayal. Chime’s defection had stirred both anger and indignation from his Udi kinsmen. The reaction was spontaneous: the following morning, they had massed up in their thousands from all the 22 communities and headed to the state’s seat of power in Enugu to voice their reservations. The group which included the member representing Udi/Ezeagu Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Dennis Amadi, former Minister Fidelia Njeze, the LG Chairman Hyacinth Ngwu, top serving and former office holders and traditional rulers came under the aegis of Udi Consultative Forum. The Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, later arrived to show solidarity with Udi people, numbering over seven thousand. They did not mind waiting for all of six hours before Governor Ugwuanyi who was hosting the South East Governors’ Forum emerged around 4pm to receive them. In his speech at the occasion, their leader, Chief Eric Chime -– a businessman —said the former governor betrayed the Udi people and the state in general “by abandoning the political platform through which we all supported him to become governor of Enugu state”. He said Chime has said many incredible things, not only against the PDP on whose back he rode to prominence, but also against the present administration he helped install. While he recognized that he had the right to choose whom to associate with, politically, the UCF chairman was dismayed that Sullivan Chime chose the All Progressives Congress, the party through which untold hardship has been visited on the generality of Nigerians. According to the UCF Chieftain who claimed that Sullivan Chime was blinded by personal political ambition, “what every right thinking Udi man expected from him is for him to reciprocate the good gesture of support that all sections of the state gave him while he was governor, and especially since the entire state harkened to his choice of Ugwuanyi as a worthy successor”. While he thanked the governor for the continued upgrade of the popular 9th Mile Corner, one of the largest industrial hubs in the South East, which used to be the metaphor for neglect of Udi LGA during Chime’s tenure, he made it clear that “Sullivan Chime is totally on his own and we are not with him on this journey to nowhere”. He ended his speech by saying the defection which attracted a hired crowd, would not change the political landscape of Udi and Enugu state.
The state’s deputy governor, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo who is Udi by birth and whom many associated with Chime, was particularly excited about the solidarity visit of Udi people to Ugwuanyi. While addressing the crowd on the grounds of Enugu Government House, she stood with her kinsmen. She reiterated her loyalty and commitment to Governor Ugwuanyi whom she said, has shown Udi people uncommon love and promised them all those amenities they could not enjoy even under their own son. “Today, Udi people are speaking with one voice to say that we will not waver nor relent in our support for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the PDP. You have made me proud as your daughter, and from what we see, APC cannot use Udi to launch a challenge in Enugu state”. Her speech had followed the hilarious reference to Chime as a lone-flying grasshopper, made by one-time Rector of the IMT Enugu, now Igwe of Abor, Chief Callistus Njeze. According to Njeze, “Udi people are known to move like locusts and when you seen a man on a lone flight like Sullivan is, he must be a grasshopper”. It drew hilarious laughter. Like in many states where sitting governors quarrel with their predecessor over money, government’s policy direction and allocation of political offices, it has been a different story in Enugu. None of these was the bone of contention between Chime and his successor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; yet for some inexplicable reasons the former governor had started the drift, making some uncomplimentary remarks about Ugwuanyi, before finally announcing his departure from PDP. The statement that he wants to take Enugu state to the mainstream of national politics, is taken with a pinch of salt, coming from a man who as a sitting governor, never made any impact even in the South East sub-region. Many suspect that the ex-governor’s ongoing corruption case with the EFCC is his reason for quitting the nation’s opposition party, while speculations linger that he may actually be looking for a platform to square up again with Ekweremadu for the Enugu West Senatorial seat. As far as Deputy Senate President is concerned, if Chime’s departure is for mere political expediency, then he has not learnt from history. Ekweremadu said Chime who became governor fortuitously, has not matured politically. “If he was experienced and had a sense of history, he would have understood that his predecessors like Chief Jim Nwobodo and Chimaroke Nnamani who split with their successors and went on such political journeys against the people’s will, never recovered from such misadventures”. While declaring that Chime’s departure is a blessing in disguise, he declared as “a big flop” the event of the previous day which was witnessed by only one APC governor, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto. He assured that the entire state was committed to a seamless second tenure for Governor Ugwuanyi. Ugwuanyi, who was visibly elated by the outpouring of support for him thanked the people of Udi for showing such unusual solidarity. He assured them that the lingering crisis in the PDP will be resolved and that whatever became of the issue, he would return to them for advice.

When President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) entered the presidential race in 2015, he might not have appreciated, as a fact, that he was taking his luck too far, given his age and, more importantly, his health status. Recall that he had unsuccessfully run for the position of president in 2003, 2007 and 2011. Following his defeat in 2011, he had, amid lachrymal emotion, announced that he would not contest the presidency again.
