saengine:sadly, the pilot was beheaded before our military vanguard had any chance to react. |
andrewza:so you want our troops to enter into a terrorist occupied territory simply to retrieve a crashed jet.even the US cant just waltz majestically into rebel-controlled eastern ukraine simply to retrieve the crashed malaysian plane. |
DieVluit:how can a crashed jet be retrieved?.you should try using your custard filled skull, and stop embarrasing yourself. |
chigoizie7:you arent talking silly jokes, you are actually giving a sensible and objective opinion.GEJ is either terribly wicked or extremely f00lish.our troops have been fighting BH for 5 years, and military aircrafts have only been deployed a few times, but when GEJ visited borno last week, the sky was literarily crawling with fighter jets, attack helicopters and armed drones!..isnt that wickedness.the military claims it doesnt have weapons, yet they deploy squadrons of jets for a campaign |
idupaul:indeed,i'm a very patriotic person, when i speak with foreigners,i defend my country will every point available.but we here are all nigerians, and i cant decieve a fellow nigerian.when speaking the truth,we must set aside patriotism and speak objectively for the betterment of our nation. |
zizibabe1:i will forgive you for your ignorance.you dont even know anything about me yet you assumed that i'm a novice on military matters?,i have more relatives in the army and airforce than i can count,i consider myself a military analyst who objectively studies military matters.normally,i dont reply the kind of comment you posted, but i just have to dispell your misguided discripancies.i know a lot about the NA,NAF,NN,and NASTF,but to cut the story short;the current status of our military is terribly apaling, patriotism shouldnt cloud our judgement. |
FighterPilot:do you want me to start posting pictures of our numerous neat world class police stations? |
FighterPilot:and our police stations arent neat?. |
FighterPilot:imfene, some american police stations are also the size of a retail kiosk.it all depends on the size, location and population of the local community they are overseeing. |
seankafor:indeed, you are.but every opinion on a public forum{like nairaland} are always subjected to severe scrutiny and objective assessments.nevertheless,i believe that everyone is entitled to his/her own opinions. |
LRNZH:seriously, our military is now a joke, from the military leadership down to the infantry men.we have grown weak,we cannot fight chad in our current position;our political leadership is weak, our military leadership is corrupt, our armoury is nearly grounded, our infantry fighters are lazy, untrained and inexperienced.if we fight chad,we will fight france,if we fight france,we will fight NATO,if we fight NATO,we will be consumed. |
seankafor:hahahaha....you are so naive, there is no such thing as "brotherly love" in politics.every nations fights for its interest,do you think the US would be battling with ISIS if it didnt conform with its national interest?,if ISIS were to be tormenting russia, iran, north korea or afghanistan,do you think the US would have lifted a finger in show of "brotherly love"?.ISIS is a huge threat to the US,therefore they are forced to crush it. BH is an avenue for an impoverished chad to leach unto our newly discovered oil reserves in the north east, the same way cameroon gained control of the bakassi peninninsula in the south east. |
Henry120:yes.it is indeed prudent to allow DHQ explain before jumping to conclusions. |
Henry120:we are likely to lose if we go to war with chad.patriotism and bragado aside, most of our military arsenal have been grounded,we dont have any supersonic combat jet that can challenge the chadian MiG-29{even without laser missiles},many of our MBTs are grounded, and the few we have are barely beating back BH in the north east, our APCs are limited and we have resorted to using hilux pickup vans to ferry our troops. chad wouldnt have made this move if it wasnt prepared to fight nigeria, over the years they have stocked their armoury both through black market proliferations and also through legal international weapon purchase channels.they have waited over 50 years, they arent gonna take any chances. we have 130 000 soldiers, chad has 30 000.but most of our soldiers are untrained almajiris, while chadian troops have been fighting all manner of battles for over 30 years. |
@Henry120@agaugust,isnt this what i forsaw last week?,but you doubted my opinion on the matter.how are we sure that chad will relinquish control of those towns back to nigeria when the war is over?...chad has come to annex all of nigeria's oil rich northeastern territory.it would be better for our government to take decisive action now before it gets out of hand.i hope the current administration wont disappoint once again. |
DieVluit:i'm done arguing with a cheat like you. |
DieVluit:and who cajoled you to support the Nigerian military in the first place? |
DieVluit:you can decisively discard your sinister promonitions where the sun doesnt shine.the fight against boko haram is more complex than anything the SANDF has ever confronted. |
mzilakazi:that doesnt mean BH has more intelligence and tactical ability than the NA.it simply mean that they also have a modicum of intelligence and tactical analysis. |
DieVluit:it is indeed a very innovative strategy, infact,i applaud boko haram's chief strategist for thinking up such a simple, yet highly effective assault strategy.however, the NA will easily strafe boko haram into the afterlife through aerial bombardment.that strategy may have worked once, but it wont work again.it would only be a shocking waste of tasty beef. |
andrewza:boko haram has foreign aid, from chad, mali, libya and all countries under the al quaeda influence.perhaps it even has help from france and the US{though i fail to see what the US will gain by distabilizing the north-east},but the use of helicopters is indeed very disturbing,i personnally know that their is no way a foreign aircraft will penetrate our airspace without our airforce and NAMA knowing about it.so what does this mean?,that the government is sabotaging its own efforts?,that is very preposterous indeed.there could be an underlying battle for control of the lake chad basin oil field. |
BOKO HARAM USED COWS AS SHIELD IN BAGA BATTLE . . http//www.naij.com/374757-escaped-soldiers-disclose-boko-haram-new-tactic.html . . Troops that retreated from baga has alledged that boko haram terrorists have integrated the use of cows as shield into their new isolated assault strategy.apparently, boko haram fighters attacked baga frontier garrison using about 5000 cows that were seized from neighbouring nomadic farmlands as shield.the troops complained that most of their bullets were wasted on the cows that boko haram fighters were hiding behind. |
HELICOPTERS DROP FOOD AND ARMS FOR BOKO HARAM . . http://leadership.ng/news/407049/helicopters-dropping-arms-food-boko-haram-idps . . Residents of baga and munguno have claimed seeing 'big' helicopters dropping arms and food supplies into boko haram camps in borno state of nigeria.the leader of the CJTF also confirmed sighting an helicopter hovering over munguno,"i saw an helicopter hovering over munguno barracks, but it didnt drop a single bomb.later i saw another helicopter come, then four people came down out of it using long black ropes, then the helicopter went away again.",according to him, many of boko haram fighters are foreigners, especially chadian arabs,he also claimed that it was the foreign fighters that engaged troops in munguno barracks.it should be recalled that last year november,a military helicopter containing arms, cash and some foreign personnels, crashed in gombi, borno state, but the military authorities denied any involvement with both the helicopter and its content. |
agaugust:indeed,i just found out this afternoon the that drone was Nigerian.i thought we only used surveillance drones,it is indeed very impressive. NAF drones cost over $1 million?.thats a big amount for one drone.even the US Gray Eagle combat wardrone cost less. |
andrewza:indeed, and that is the same mistake your country is making.a country should always be ready for war at any given time. |
mzilakazi:jealousy is killing you, pray you dont get a stroke from your blatant jealousy.you may end up dying of cardiac arrest when you hear that the NA has finally purchased the Apache and Cobra attack helicopters. |
DieVluit:yeah, but wait a minute, arent drones different from cars?,i mean, they've got wings, rotors, and a full avionic system, but cars only have an automobile system and four tyres.you know what a car is dont you?,you know that four wheeled transportation vehicle, with black tyres and a bonnet?,and though you might not know what a drone is,i trust you must have watched a small flying robotic device that looks like a mini-jet on an american TV series?. |
mzilakazi:i can practically feel you frothing in the mouth with jealousy.your jealousy of the nigerian army can make you convulse till death, lighten your heart brother;start cheering for the NA and its astounding achievements. |
mzilakazi:where should it have landed?,on your father's house in johannesburg?. it crashed probably due to technical issues, strong altitude current,or even flunctuating atmospheric pressure.if the drone was faulty,it wouldnt have flown in the first place.wardrones crash everywhere in the world,we do not have monopoly of crashing drones. |
overhypedsteve:truest talk |
andrewza:but france never thought that it would lose 17 citizens in two days.but interestingly,it isnt only the 17 people killed that is bothering france.it is that the terrorist were able to carry out such a deadly attack, unstopped in paris, the capital of france,in the very heart of a western capital.it was an embarrasment to france, and the whole of the west.till date,no terrorist has dared to hold hostages in abuja or lagos. |
