You're predictable, and thats why I am not surprised you dont.

Remember try not to be slow in understanding and be original, beloved grin

That's the problem Mr. Reeves.
I'm 1000 percent honest and original with my threads & posts....and you cannot handle it.
I "bug" you so much.....and ironically enough is the very reason why I'm banned now...."truth" is why I'm silenced yet again over on my thread.
Fun fact: When you & your mod buddies hand out Nairaland "Religion section" awards for "Most Unlawfully Banned", make sure you leave out the "3" when engraving my name on the trophy.
I forgive you guys.....really I do.
Good night....Nigeria's time.

Of course everyone including yourself are entitled to their opinions, but as for me when I do opinion(s), I always state explicitly that I have done an opinion or I am making an opinion

You see, beloved, the thing, to start with about opinions, is that, you can have your own opinions, but you can't have your own facts. Why? It is because facts, unlike opinions, are incontrovertible. Opinions change, facts dont. You will forever change your opinions, always when it comes up to the face of facts.

I don't know what you just said.
Remember....straightforward-ness....thanks beloved.

Confirmed....banning through anger and intimidation.
Thanks guys.....you (3-in-1) moderators.
Guys, because someone differs from you in religion, lifestyle or beliefs and isn't a dangerous threat in any way, doesn't mean that you abuse your power.
You don't suppress someone's right to speak truth.
The constant banning on this thread shows that I have something of extreme importance....think folks.
I know you guys want me gone from here...and to think that me being a foreign born "guest" on a forum which is 50 percent of my Nigerian ethnicity also....I mean "wow". Not a good look...
You guys are towing a dangerous line.

Remember, we will all have to answer for our actions on this earth.

Yes, so if it's not God causing the confusion, then you and me know exactly who it is.
So after your scripture quoting in regards to my question, I take it that your answer is "no"....?
You do "not" want me to post anymore on this here my thread...correct?
It's okay guys....really it is.
I will accept the outcome...no need for anything else.

Mr. Reeves,
By the way, I love straightforward-ness......you know direct-ness....not speaking in circles.....thanks sir.

I'm seriously confused.
I emailed moderators (privately over a week ago) & openly asked last week on this thread what am I doing wrong that's causing a ban?
I really wanted to finish posting.
I attempted to post and banned immediately.
If you guys don't want me posting anymore on my thread on this topic, please just let me know and I will attempt it no more.

(Continued from The Seventh-day Adventist Church under my main moniker "Eviana"wink

A brief summary of the church's history and "founders" revolves around William Miller, (a former Baptist minister) to whom the "Millerite" movement was named after.
Miller is best known for his belief that Christ' imminent return would be in 1844....(later termed the "Great Disappointment).
While Miller had the date right, he had the event wrong. Something did occur in 1844 concerning Christ, but it was not His second coming.
Some followers left the faith and the remaining studied what happened in 1844...and where they went wrong in their belief....hence the birth of Seventh-day Adventists.

The three prominent figures (or founders) to emerge during that time were also members of other denominations---before formally becoming "adventists".
They were James & Ellen G. White (husband/wife) and Joseph Bates.

In the church's beliefs are "Spiritual Gifts/Ministry" & "The Gift of Prophecy", (both scripturally based).
Ellen G. White is the messenger of God that Seventh-day Adventists believe God chose to reveal important messages regarding prophecy & Christian living.

What many people do not know is that she was not the original person chosen to do this important, sobering work. There were (2) men before her who refused the call of God and who later admitted it. So God called and although reluctant at first, she accepted.

Mrs. White (who had a third/fourth grade education) had written over 5000 periodicals and 40 books during her lifetime. She is one of the most widely translated authors in history and covers a very wide range of subjects including prophetic events/prophecy, councils on
health/diet, dress reform, Christian living/ relationships etc.

One thing that was stated by the powerful N.L. member was that Mrs. White's books are revered more (by me) than the bible. However, his statement is false. Seventh-day Adventists get accused frequently of idolizing Mrs. White more than the bible.
While there may be some in the faith who tend to venture towards fanaticism....the official statement of the church is to hold the bible as the ultimate authority. That is what I do....the bible first. The majority of my posts and interactions have revolved around the bible.

I have also repeatedly used Isaiah 8:20 (KJV) as my reference for anyone who claims or claimed to be a "prophet/prophetess"/messenger of God...including Ellen G. White and I, personally, am convinced that she indeed was.

Out of her 40 books written, I chose to highlight (2) of her books here on N.L.
I posted (3) chapters from one of the most important books that I have ever read, "The Great Controversy"--an historical, present and future book of prophecy for the world-- and (2) chapters from another of the most important books I have ever read, "The Desire of Ages" --an account of the life & Ministry of Jesus Christ--.

What I found interesting is that a rather popular Nairaland member (who I don't even believe is religious in the least bit) even referenced one of her writings in support of a thread he created regarding relationships! How I even found that thread had to only have been through the Holy Spirit. So even the non-religious see the God-given wisdom in her writings

Mrs. White's books were never to take the position of being greater than the greatest book on earth--the bible. She even stated that numerous times. The messages and prophecy were to always line up with scripture....

An accusation was hurled regarding my personal stance on women NOT being called to "pastoral ministry" and yet Ellen White (a member of the SDA church) being a messenger of God.
She was a prophetess....not a pastor or elder.
As I have stated numerous times on Nairaland via multiple threads, women have been called to ministry. Women are very special in God's eyes and oftentimes are the backbone of the church.

Examples: Deborah, Esther, Miriam, and many more etc.,

Women fulfill countless roles within the church (including prophesying), however, "pastoring" is not one of them.
God has equipped and called men to head the church (pastoring) in that capacity.
I know that many will disagree with me and that's ok.

7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".

2 Timothy 4: 7 (KJV)

While verse "8" of 2Tim. gives the follow-up "reward" of that faith, I do not want to focus on anything but the above verse.

How did Paul--the ruthless "Christian" guilty of the imprisonment and death of innumerable followers of Christ--turned one of the mightiest soldiers of Christ-- feel confident enough to voice those words knowing that his time of death was near??

Words that every sincere follower of Christ needs to thoroughly examine.
Ponder them carefully....serious self introspection time.

In this thread, I want to examine snippets of the lives of various followers of Christ...from notable biblical figures to martyrs... and what got them to the point of a peaceful confidence in Christ.
Coming soon...

I hope readers will be blessed and encouraged in their walks with Christ.

@MuttleyLaff

I do not understand the christianity practised here. Why do you want to prove yourself right here? I do not expect you to go this far. At times, you need to allow others express themselves and tolerate them. I follow the lady's thread and I am forced to open an account cos I saw she has decided to hold her peace. And she demonstrated maturity better than you. Atheists hardly argue among themselves. Even muslims dont. Why is it that Christians do this? And the strength you use in debating marvels me. I expect you to ask her why she raises alarm at times. For her to have decided to converse with you means a lot. Perhaps she trusts you somehow, but you blew up the chance of ministering to her by attacking her. Christians minister to one another also. I was looking forward to a thread I can learn from, but I am disappointed the way you handled it. When she wrote she held back her questions, I expected you to use wisdom to talk to her. But what you did was wrong. Totally wrong. She is not one of these Pentecostal churches making noises around. There are truths in her messages. Though, she may not know all, but she is knows what she is preaching. I am not happy with you at all.

I wanted to come here and attack you. I wanted to blast you. But at the last moment, I just felt I am not better if I do that. Bro, you need to apologize to her. Apologizing to her doesn't make you a less person. It doesn't make you wrong too. It is the way forward. You can blast each other privately, but when posting messages publicly, let us represent Christ. Look at how she just walked away quietly. She is more of Christ with her action. And really, I am forced to want to listen to her more than you. Action speaks louder than words.

You guys can learn from each other. I am not here to condemn you but show you that you took it took far. Now that you have won the debate which she didnt even participate because she listened to the Holy Spirit not to speak further, what next? Are you happy? And where is your gold medal for winning the debate? Guy, apologize and learn from each other. Are you saying you haven't learn anything from her posts?

Don’t excuse yourself by hiding behind Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and even Ecclesiastes 3:7 to be precise.

e.viana eviana2 e.viana3 Eve Eden Bible 101 lesson, don't believe everything you read, hear or are told, without questioning it, as discoveries, realities, epiphanies, are made by questioning. Simple battery of questions quickly brings out in to the open revealing hidden facts. I reiterate always question and don't, until you reach a question void, be satisfied.

The art and science of asking questions is the source of all knowledge, so dont be afraid to ask questions, even it they seem to look, as if, like completely stupid questions. A wise person can learn more from completely stupid questions than a fool can learn from a wise answer. I am not afraid to ask completely stupid questions and I keep this habit until tomorrow, lmso.

You owe yourself the responsibility to extract, to squeeze out, to draw out, get hold of et cetera information, lmso. You see, the immediate and unceasing question(s) about any particular subject matter, should always be: "What is the actual truth in this/these matter(s)?" but some believers who should be spiritually mature and ready to ask hard questions, aren't spiritually mature and so aren't ready to ask hard questions. I have believers doing the clandestine Nicodemus dip their toes in the water only to run a mile, the moment the toes barely touch the water. They withdraw back into their shell, just as you've done here too, lmso

Curiosity has its own reason for existing, as thinking begins when you ask really hard, difficult, puzzling and uncomfortable questions. I cant overemphasise not to stop questioning.

Find the courage to ask the questions you're afraid to hear the answer to. Don't be afraid of the answers, but be afraid of not asking the questions. Why, lmso? It is because its the only way you'll know which direction your truth lays.

I would rather have questions that can't be answered, than answers, that can't be questioned. Sometimes questions can be complicated but the answers are simple. Most difficult questions, usually have simple answers anyway.

It is better to discuss a belief, subject matter, doctrine, position et cetera with question(s) without settling it, than to settle a belief, subject matter, doctrine, position et cetera without question(s) discussing it. The longest held belief does not make it the truest, lmso. Deconstruct what you think is true about the world, around and about you. Make yourself a virgin again, lmso.

Closing, I'll say, all that is necessary, in fact, the only thing necessary, for the triumph of evil is for good men/women to unwisely decide that its time to keep silence.

Einstein believed it was important to never stop questioning, and quoted to have said:
"I have no special gift. I am only passionately curious.... Never lose a holy curiosity."

Was just thinking.....
There are (3) things that cannot be told to the majority of Nigerian men by a woman:

1.) That his tribe is not the most amazing
2.) That he is IMPERFECT (physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and relationally)
3.) That he does NOT know everything.

I digress. Anyhow, I needed to be stopped in my tracks via the Holy Spirit...impressing me to not ask those several questions...not to even peek down the street.
My thought processes were centered around what would be the end goal of the discussion. Some questions that I wanted to ask really already have been answered...in a subtle way.
But I could see where there could have been confusion and a myriad of emotions that I did not want to go through.
Nigerians believe in endless debates....
I thought to myself, "I just don't feel like
Also I had to think about the impressionable curious minds and how it would affect them.
So my processed thoughts --which led to me canceling the questions-- was not cowardice, rather Godly wisdom and boy do I need and crave it.
This was one of those times where I obeyed Him (the Holy Spirit)...and I'm so glad I did.
I really meant the bolded part in Ecclesiastes.
My closing words earlier on this thread still stand though...

So with all of that being said, I "have no further questions your honor"...Sir Muttley.

P.S. I deactivated my "eviana2" moniker..just now because I never wanted 3 monikers simultaneously.
I only wanted to use (Eviana) solely.
I think you know that I can converse with a nail if it could speak.
My love of knowledge, questions and civil discussion got me a lovely "ban" back in early November..so ...well....

Anyhow, I appreciate your gesture of this thread...sir.

I really like this question, but honestly, I wonder if folks can answer that.
I was born into Christianity and certainly could have left it (without any threat of death or violence) when I entered college.
However I, (after being unserious about Christanity throughout my childhood and college years), finally came to a point in my life (as a young adult) where I wanted to understand Who God the Creator was, and how to make Him real in my life. I was searching and God knew that..and at the right time drew me to a personal relationship with Him.
Now I, with all due respect, could never see myself in any other religion nor would I want to, because I have an inexplicable "peace".

No explanation is needed.
None at all.
I don't need to quote scriptures for you. I only need to ask you some questions.

Who is a CHRISTIAN?

"Someone who is christ-like."

Please when Christ was on Earth did he ever pray for his enemies to die?

If he didn't do so, but instead said;

"Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing"

Then you really need to look inward if u indeed claim to be Christ like!

Is your tribulation greater than that which christ or the disciples went through
?

Answer the question truthfully and stop being a PAGAN in action and a CHRISTIAN by name.

This is of no apology to anyone or any segregation. It is a burning word I just needed to share.

God bless you.

As much as this stings, you really are correct.
Don't know if you're coming from the mind-set of being an actual Christian, or from being an onlooker from another religion or lack thereof.
I have said this 1 million times...about the Nigerian brand of Christianity that includes "praying for enemies to die". Never really understood that concept as I wasn't born, nor grew up, there.
That is absolutely 1000 percent wrong..no matter how one tries to justify it.
Jesus Christ never ever did that...and neither are those who profess His name supposed to do thst.
I think (by mere observation and a little research) see that Christianity in Nigeria has emerged with traditional religion.
I always said that people are entitled to worship how they choose, but don't call something such as wishing "death" on another human (regardless of if one thinks it is justified) "biblical" when that has never been Jesus' standard or example.
Now that I can agree on with some of the posters on the thread.
I have a problem when retaliation death prayers become a standard modus operandi under the guise of religion...for any reason as difficult as that may be "not" to engage in that manner.
Perhaps people just need to study their bible and be re-educated on the truth pertaining to that "teaching".

@NairaPound, what e.viana said is correct. Some activities can be done for the bereaved family, not only by calls, text. If the bereaved one wants to talk, listen sympathetically. You can also give the person the hope that he or she will see their loved again as Acts 24:15 stated there will be a resurrection. Best of all, do something for the bereaved family, perhaps performing a chore the grieving one has not been able to care for, such as cooking a meal, caring for the children, or helping with funeral arrangements if that is desired. Such actions may speak louder than the most eloquent words. These activities can be done even after a long period of time (1 year or more).

PART 23

It was in sleeping when Jesus bade him watch and pray that Peter had prepared the way for his great sin. All the disciples, by sleeping in that critical hour, sustained a great loss.
Christ knew the fiery ordeal through which they were to pass. He knew how Satan would work to paralyze their senses that they might be unready for the trial. Therefore it was that He gave them warning. Had those hours in the garden been spent in watching and prayer, Peter would not have been left to depend upon his own feeble strength.
He would not have denied his Lord. Had the disciples watched with Christ in His agony, they would have been prepared to behold His suffering upon the cross. They would have understood in some degree the nature of His overpowering anguish.
They would have been able to recall His words that foretold His sufferings, His death, and His resurrection. Amid the gloom of the most trying hour, some rays of hope would have lighted up the darkness and sustained their faith.

Please stop misrepresenting the illustration as being larger than "eviana.3" and "Lil' eviana.3"when it simply, was used to make clear the extent of the omnipotence and omnipresence of God, in being capable to draw out and away from Him, a Son, that is HIM, and is concurrently existing with Him.

"eviana.3" being the father/mother and "Lil' eviana.3" being the son, concurrently as the same person existing, in that illustration, is something no human being can pull off, but with God, it is a piece of cake, easily something God can do. Or do you think its his beyond God's power to do something like that ni, hmm?

Now watch this eviana.3. Imagine you eviana.3, miraculously having omnipotence and ability to remain being eviana3 and at the same point, in time, you "exerchomai" yourself (i.e. you projected, protruded, externalised) yourself out, to become and still remaining being your self, but get to be in the external form of a son, (i.e. Lil' eviana.3) who is co-existing with you. Now tell me, eviana.3, in spite of the phrase: "like father/mother, like son", who, in your understanding and in regards of conventional wisdom between eviana.3, the mother and yourself, coexisting in the form of your son Lil' eviana.3, is greater, lmso? From who, does you, yourself, as Lil' eviana.3, have authority to do whatever?

You see to fulfil all forms of righteousness, sons are submissive to fathers/mothers. They give in to the authority and will of fathers/mothers. Sons are influenced by their fathers/mothers, hence why fathers/mothers are greater, lmso. In this case, though eviana.3, the mother and Lil' eviana.3, the son, are the one and same person, you, eviana.3, as the mother, is greater than, you, yourself, as Lil' eviana.3, the son.
Capisce now? lmso.

What I have seen happen over and over again is that when a loved one dies, the initial reaction of religious folks is to bombard them with prayers, phone calls and some even generously contribute financially. I have observed most of this support ends around about 40 days and then we all return to our daily lives.

The questions on my mind are

do we think life returns to normal for the person/ families of those who have lost their loved one after 40days?
what are some things we can do to support them?
How long do you think they need support?

abeg no vex for the jam queshuns, d tin dey hot hot for mt bodi

I'm not sure if that is a cultural thing there in Nigeria to comfort the grieving ones for "40" days or not?
However, people generally do the best they can to comfort grieving people. No one really knows what to say. It can be uncomfortable all the way around.
Here in the U.S., some people do not go to funerals because they cannot handle being at them.
Truth is, there is nothing that anyone can do to truly give the grieving person what he/she would actually want: the deceased loved one alive again.
However, all that you stated above do help in one way or another.
There really is no time limit on checking on people going through the mourning stages.
There are some stages that a person should go through in order to process his/her emotions in a healthy way: Shock, anger, depression and final aceptance/healing.
It could even be more intense if the manner in which the loved one(s) died was gruesome or abnormal.

I think occasionally checking on the person is a step. He/she will eventually and hopefully return to living life daily. Perhaps suggesting a Christian counselor (if the person is Christian) who can help the person process the loss, may be an option.
Time slowly heals wounds...but the loss is felt forever

PART 22

The sight of that pale, suffering face, those quivering lips, that look of compassion and forgiveness, pierced his heart like an arrow. Conscience was aroused. Memory was active. Peter called to mind his promise of a few short hours before that he would go with his Lord to prison and to death. He remembered his grief when the Saviour told him in the upper chamber that he would deny his Lord thrice that same night. Peter had just declared that he knew not Jesus, but he now realized with bitter grief how well his Lord knew him, and how accurately He had read his heart, the falseness of which was unknown even to himself
.

A tide of memories rushed over him. The Saviour's tender mercy, His kindness and long-suffering, His gentleness and patience toward His erring disciples,—all was remembered. He recalled the caution, “Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not.” Luke 22:31, 32. He reflected with horror upon his own ingratitude, his falsehood, his perjury. Once more he looked at his Master, and saw a sacrilegious hand raised to smite Him in the face. Unable longer to endure the scene, he rushed, heartbroken, from the hall
.

He pressed on in solitude and darkness, he knew not and cared not whither. At last he found himself in Gethsemane. The scene of a few hours before came vividly to his mind. The suffering face of his Lord, stained with bloody sweat and convulsed with anguish, rose before him. He remembered with bitter remorse that Jesus had wept and agonized in prayer alone, while those who should have united with Him in that trying hour were sleeping. He remembered His solemn charge, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.” Matthew 26:41. He witnessed again the scene in the judgment hall. It was torture to his bleeding heart to know that he had added the heaviest burden to the Saviour's humiliation and grief. On the very spot where Jesus had poured out His soul in agony to His Father, Peter fell upon his face, and wished that he might die

So I was thinking about something the other day while talking with a friend.
The wonderful thing about the Holy Spirit is that He will bring to one's remembrance past situations where He either delivered from, warned about, guided through or "to", comforted or encouraged through a scripture, text, person or song etc.
I realized that I do not "thank" Him enough...

So I wanted to do that now because I have been extremely encouraged just over the past few days...

When I tell you that the Holy Spirit gives discernment and knows those innermost, unspoken thoughts/concerns that one may have....AND THEN DELIVERS (and one knows that it was Him)....it becomes a thing of overwhelming gratitude! He reveals people and situations that one may or may not have properly vetted...and gently lets one know that something "is" or "is not" right...and to steer clear....discernment which is my big thing that I've written about under my former monikers on N.L.
He also gives unexpected blessings at and in the most interesting times and ways.
The other day, I was concerned about a particular thing...which I had said to no one. I was racking my brain trying to figure out my plans "A", "B", and "C". That morning, about an hour later or so, I called someone speaking about an irrelevant subject (nothing of importance at all)and it was through that person that an unexpected blessing came! That person asked me a random question which led to producing my blessing! Through that particular person...who I never mentioned a word about my situation...wasn't thinking anything about it at that time. Brought back to my remembrance was Phil.4:19 (God supplying all my needs....) my scripture verse on Monday!
When I tell you that the Holy Spirit knows those utter groanings which sometimes haven't been prayed, but yet He knows one's heart, and answers so plainly, oh yes, He deserves our praise and gratitude. He deserves it anyway, and everyday. But there are times when it's so obvious..that one's faith gets strengthened even more.
It's like He's saying to me, "My daughter ______, I love you and I have you". "You are mine". "I will be there with you". "I'm not going anywhere".
Mercy..

Feel free to place your name in the blank.
We, Christians, are blessed so tremendously daily that if we would actually count the "basics" that we take for granted, we would still be counting.
I know those sincere Christians understand what I am saying.
Just be encouraged and know that God loves you intensely and will provide for and protect you.

PART 21

Attention was called to him the second time, and he was again charged with being a follower of Jesus. He now declared with an oath, “I do not know the Man.” Still another opportunity was given him. An hour had passed, when one of the servants of the high priest, being a near kinsman of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked him, “Did not I see thee in the garden with Him?” “Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.”

At this Peter flew into a rage. The disciples of Jesus were noted for the purity of their language, and in order fully to deceive his questioners, and justify his assumed character, Peter now denied his Master with cursing and swearing. Again the cock crew. Peter heard it then, and he remembered the words of Jesus, “Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny Me thrice.” Mark 14:30.

While the degrading oaths were fresh upon Peter's lips, and the shrill crowing of the cock was still ringing in his ears, the Saviour turned from the frowning judges, and looked full upon His poor disciple. At the same time Peter's eyes were drawn to his Master. In that gentle countenance he read deep pity and sorrow, but there was no anger there.

PART 14

A murmur of surprise ran through the assembly. With amazement they beheld the forbearance of Christ toward His betrayer. Again there swept over them the conviction that this Man was more than mortal. But if He was the Son of God, they questioned, why did He not free Himself from His bonds and triumph over His accusers?

Judas saw that his entreaties were in vain, and he rushed from the hall exclaiming, It is too late! It is too late! He felt that he could not live to see Jesus crucified, and in despair went out and hanged himself.

Later that same day, on the road from Pilate's hall to Calvary, there came an interruption to the shouts and jeers of the wicked throng who were leading Jesus to the place of crucifixion. As they passed a retired spot, they saw at the foot of a lifeless tree, the body of Judas. It was a most revolting sight. His weight had broken the cord by which he had hanged himself to the tree. In falling, his body had been horribly mangled, and dogs were now devouring it. His remains were immediately buried out of sight; but there was less mockery among the throng, and many a pale face revealed the thoughts within. Retribution seemed already visiting those who were guilty of the blood of Jesus

PART 13

Judas now cast himself at the feet of Jesus, acknowledging Him to be the Son of God, and entreating Him to deliver Himself.

The Saviour did not reproach His betrayer. He knew that Judas did not repent; his confession was forced from his guilty soul by an awful sense of condemnation and a looking for of judgment, but he felt no deep, heartbreaking grief that he had betrayed the spotless Son of God, and denied the Holy One of Israel.

Yet Jesus spoke no word of condemnation. He looked pityingly upon Judas, and said, For this hour came I into the world

Religion / Re: The Father Is Greater Than I-jesus Christ by eviana3(f): 1:10pm On Nov 24, 2020
This sums it up.
John 4:34 (KJV)
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work

Jesus is part of the "Godhead"...God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Matthew 28:19 (KJV)
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

John 14:16 (KJV)
14 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever

All three working equally, yet having different functions.

Jesus, although God the Son, was born a man in order to cooperate in the plan of salvation for a fallen race. Love personified....
In the garden of Gethsemane, we read about the anguish that encompassed Christ near the moment of His crucial role in the plan of redemption for a fallen race.

Matthew 26: 38-39 (KJV)
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

He then became a human....making Him lesser than God the Father the Creator. No human is greater than God the Creator.
While no one can explain His simultaneous dual humanity and divinty while living on the earth for 33 years, by faith those who profess Christianity believe this. Many scriptures support Jesus' ability to supernaturally heal, control the elements on earth, and command help from holy angels of God if necessary. Yet in order for the plan of salvation to be successful, Jesus was the one who had to do it in the way in which it was done.
Religion / Re: In More Than 7 Years, They Have Not Opened The Book Of Revelation In My Church by eviana3(f): 8:08pm On Nov 22, 2020
I always thought that the Book of Revelation was a book that was "closed" and not meant for interpretation.
Ironically, the word "revel" actually means to "reveal"...
The denomination I grew up in never preached out of the last book...nor spoke anything about it.
I wasn't deeply spiritual so I just took their "words for it", that it shouldn't be read at all.
Also as lot of folks don't teach or preach about it, simply because they DO NOT UNDERSTAND it.
It wasn't until my early 20's, that I was introduced to the Book of Revelation through an invitation to attend a "Revelation Prophecy Seminar" that lasted about 2 weeks.
I was blessed to say the least.
Yes this last, but very powerful book, can be intimidating with its use of symbols, imagery and figurative language.
The book practically runs concurrent to the Book of Daniel...which was also prophetic in Daniel's time.
But understand something about the Lord: HE gives nothing of a private interpretation nor does He have His children taken by surprise about upcoming events to usher in His second coming.
The book of Revelation is in the Bible for an extremely important reason for Christians and we would be wise to pray, study and search the scriptures in this last book.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will lead you to an understanding of what this book has been written and placed in the Bible.
It is not there for mere decoration.
The first scripture even lays a "blessing" for those who desire to read, hear and obey what's in that book.
There's a pastor named Mark Finley, who has done multiple, thorough and well explained presentations on the book of Revelation. You could type in his name and then keywords like, "Revelation Prophecy", "The Mark of the Beast", "Daniel & Revelation" etc.
It may be worth one's while to check it out.
Then maybe after learning, you could teach your congregation about it.

PART 12

As the trial drew to a close, Judas could endure the torture of his guilty conscience no longer. Suddenly a hoarse voice rang through the hall, sending a thrill of terror to all hearts: He is innocent; spare Him, O Caiaphas!

The tall form of Judas was now seen pressing through the startled throng. His face was pale and haggard, and great drops of sweat stood on his forehead. Rushing to the throne of judgment, he threw down before the high priest the pieces of silver that had been the price of his Lord's betrayal. Eagerly grasping the robe of Caiaphas, he implored him to release Jesus, declaring that He had done nothing worthy of death. Caiaphas angrily shook him off, but was confused, and knew not what to say. The perfidy of the priests was revealed. It was evident that they had bribed the disciple to betray his Master
.

“I have sinned,” again cried Judas, “in that I have betrayed the innocent blood.” But the high priest, regaining his self-possession, answered with scorn, “What is that to us? see thou to that.” Matthew 27:4. The priests had been willing to make Judas their tool; but they despised his baseness. When he turned to them with confession, they spurned him.

PART 20

The disciple John, upon entering the judgment hall, did not try to conceal the fact that he was a follower of Jesus. He did not mingle with the rough company who were reviling his Master. He was not questioned, for he did not assume a false character, and thus lay himself liable to suspicion. He sought a retired corner secure from the notice of the mob, but as near Jesus as it was possible for him to be. Here he could see and hear all that took place at the trial of his Lord. Peter had not designed that his real character should be known. In assuming an air of indifference he had placed himself on the enemy's ground, and he became an easy prey to temptation. If he had been called to fight for his Master, he would have been a courageous soldier; but when the finger of scorn was pointed at him, he proved himself a coward.

Many who do not shrink from active warfare for their Lord are driven by ridicule to deny their faith. By associating with those whom they should avoid, they place themselves in the way of temptation. They invite the enemy to tempt them, and are led to say and do that of which under other circumstances they would never have been guilty. The disciple of Christ who in our day disguises his faith through dread of suffering or reproach denies his Lord as really as did Peter in the judgment hall.

Peter tried to show no interest in the trial of his Master, but his heart was wrung with sorrow as he heard the cruel taunts, and saw the abuse He was suffering. More than this, he was surprised and angry that Jesus should humiliate Himself and His followers by submitting to such treatment. In order to conceal his true feelings, he endeavored to join with the persecutors of Jesus in their untimely jests. But his appearance was unnatural. He was acting a lie, and while seeking to talk unconcernedly he could not restrain expressions of indignation at the abuse heaped upon his Master
