Career › Re: This Happened In My New Work Place. Please advice by Evidenx(m): 12:54pm On Jan 13, 2024 |
Jackanda1: I recently applied to work in an organisation.
After passing the interview and checks, the management was impressed and decided to hire and give me a major role in the company.
When i asked about the payment for my position, they threw me a popular question; HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PAY YOU?
I gave them a figure in mind, a little above what i got in my former job. Their facial expression was 'WoW'.
I started work on tuesday and after making friends and chating the secretary, i found out that i earn twice less than the staffs in the company in the same position.
Infact, i earn a little more than the gateman and cleaner. The secretary even earns more.
Its my fault, should have done some checks on the strength and salary structure of the firm before applying.
I feel discouraged. With this information, i won't be able fuction properly. Plus this secretary with her loud mouth will spread the news in the company, making me feel worst.
Anyone with this experience? Please console me. It happened to me too,my salary was supposed to be 50k but I settle for 40k only to discover after some weeks.. but plan to tell them to increase it after spending 3 months. |

Seun: Fellow Nairalanders,
I'm pleased to wish you a Happy New Year!!
2024 will be the year of Nairaland's resurgence. I will face Nairaland squarely like I used to before the discouraging Data Loss Incident of 2014. I will hire more hands to help us to improve Nairaland.
The problems of Nairaland that we should have solved years ago will be solved.
* We will defeat tribalists, trolls, & spammers. * We will complete our advertising platform. * We will improve the UI and UX. * Home page topics will be educative & fresh. * We will reverse the anti-women trends.
However, I must warn you that things will get worse before they get better. Please stand with us and fight for us as Nairaland faces the tough challenges of 2024, which have already started.
Happy New Year and thanks for using Nairaland!

Health › Re: My D&C Experience.... Pls Advice Me by Evidenx(m): 4:37pm On Dec 07, 2023 |
ojobolinda: I remember how happy I was when I found out I was pregnant!. I hurriedly went and registered for antenantal and I carry out my first Ultrasound same time and it shows 6weeks gestational age which was accurate based on my calculation of my LMP.
After 2weeks and some days, I started having light bleeding and I rush to the hospital to know what was wrong because I try to eat healthy and also try not to stress myself so what is happening?!!. The nurse i met ask me to go for another Scan to be sure the baby is Ok. I went for the scan and that was how my world came crumbling down on me.
Based on the scan result, my baby stopped growing at week 6, I am already 9weeks gone while my baby is still measuring 6weeks just like the first scan I had, and BLIGHTED OVUM was written as the cause. After 2 day, I went to another diagnosis center and was advice to evacuate because I have missed abortion.
I did the D&C a week later and it was painful because I wasn't given any analgesic... My problem right now is that I have been bleeding since the D&C and it comes with cramps at time. The first 2 days, the bleeding was light but now its looking like my normal period bleeding with little blood clot.
Before you advice me to go to the hospital, I have... The Doctor wants to observe me for a week and then give me injection to stop the bleeding but am feeling is not proper, the bleeding should stop by itself if its just ordinary bleeding, why injecting me to stop it
I will be going to the hospital tomorrow to take the injection, pls I want to know if that is the right step to take and has anyone had same experience? buy many pespi drink, like one full crate, pour all of them inside a big bowl or basin that can allow you sit inside, then after pouring all the pespi drink inside, sit down inside the basin for like 30 mins, the bleeding will stop . Try it! |

Sthandawasam: Hi Nairalanders. I'm 30year old male, I met my current partner and mother of my child some years back. We have decided to try out me relocating to South Africa. But I'd like her to visit Nigeria first so we can get married here and then register the Union back in South Africa.
Now my question is: would being married here would require her to stay for years before she/we can leave Nigeria for SA or can she/we just marry and leave anytime or immediately after?🤔
Please I need your knowledge on this Nairalanders. I couldn't get anything meaningful off Google. Mods can help push it to front page please? You can leave Nigeria anytime as long as you both get married legally. She can leave or return back to South Africa but can't leave with her,(she has to go file for spousal visa for you to join her)you have to wait for your spousal visa to be approved by the south Africa government,But the marriage must be registry marriage so you both can have the federal government marriage certificate to prove to South Africa government that the marriage is genuine and not an arranged or fake marriage. |

Greediness is not good in this life. Ogiso of Benin would have learnt his lesson by now.
Now his current tiny Benin kingdom with landmass less than one local government in Oyo state will now be divided into multiple tiny kingdom will landmass size less than that of a voting ward.

Abisolababe: Good morning nairalanders I think this world is turning to something else
I work with a private organisation where I earn 20k as my monthly stipend For the past one four month now we have not been paid salary and we dare not ask my boss because she is a disciplined woman who doesn't tolerate nonsense..
Things are really getting hard and I couldn't even afford transport fee to work this morning as I have to trek down to work this morning, and on getting to work I decided to summon courage to ask this woman about my salary, She told me to go back to my duty . but to my greatest surprise it was sack letter that follows. I tried talking to her and telling her the situation of things but she wouldn't listen and all what she said is that I have been fired.
I was told to come back ending of November to get my salary..
I don't really know what to do right now, it looks like cheating to me . This is my sweat, something I have work for ... Yours is even good that they told you to come collect your salary,I was sacked without any tangible reasons and my September salary not paid despite my hard work and labour. I left it and cried to God,as I speak now God gave me a job as a supervisor and my salary is far far better than my previous salary and now I have free access to WiFi everyday in my office as much as I want. Humans are wicked, but God is a rewarder of men when they do you evil. |

pendusky: Jesu...
So, someone actually in 2014 advised me to buy dollars and store... that if Buhari win dollar will double...
I didn't want to take that risk, Buhari that was promising us 1N/$, then in GEJ era it was 180-190/$ that's about N18k/100$
The guy took loan, buy more than 5,000 dollars and store in his account...
Last time I heard from the guy, he was on his way out of the country.
If you have money, buy dollar and store, in 2years, dollar will reach N3,000/$ did this some months back on a small scale and in few months (like 2 months) I made a profit of 24k. Planning to do it again. |
